Chapter 343: Weakness Figured!
Chapter 343
"What? Don’t tell
you’re growing wea—" Grey’s words were abruptly cut short as a deep, splintering crack echoed from his earth shield.
Fractures spread like spiderwebs across its surface before it completely shattered. In the blink of an eye, a colossal sword ca crashing down from the ogre, slamming into Grey with devastating force.
BOOM!
Grey’s body was hurled like a ragdoll across the arena, colliding violently with a stone wall. The impact was so fierce that the entire section of the wall collapsed, burying him under rubble and dust.
"GREY!" Noir’s anguished howl pierced the air. The crimson-furred familiar stood frozen for a mont, eyes wide with fury as he saw his master lying unconscious, battered, and unmoving.
"That was easier than I expected," the ogre said with a smug grin, its voice laced with amusent. Then, turning its burning gaze toward Noir, it pointed a massive, blood-stained finger. "Now it’s your turn."
Noir’s fur bristled. "I never cared much for that foolish human," he growled, his voice trembling with restrained rage. Then, in a blur, his form shrank down rapidly into a sleek, nimble shape. "But you shouldn’t have laid a finger on him."
WHOOSH!
Like a crimson cot, Noir darted toward the ogre and launched himself into the air. His paw, glowing faintly with magic, slamd against the ogre’s raised hamr.
BOOM!
The impact triggered a shockwave that swept through the arena, kicking up dust and rattling debris. The clash sent Noir spiraling through the air. He flipped mid-flight and landed in a low crouch, claws gouging into the ground to steady himself.
BUZZ!
Twin beams of concentrated light blasted from Noir’s eyes, racing toward the ogre. But with an agile spin for sothing so massive, the ogre swung its colossal sword, deflecting the beams with a brutal swipe that redirected them into the ground, leaving twin smoldering craters.
Noir didn’t waste a second. His body expanded again, growing to the size of a small house. With a guttural roar, a volley of a dozen fireballs erupted from his maw, each crackling with searing heat.
"Still haven’t learned your lesson?" the ogre muttered with irritation as it raised its sword and began batting the fireballs away. Each clash of steel and fla lit up the arena, but one by one, Noir’s attacks were neutralized.
THOOM! THOOM!
’Why isn’t anything working?!’ Noir thought, beads of sweat forming beneath his fur. ’I’m on par with this beast, maybe even stronger! Why does it keep shrugging off my attacks?’
One of his deflected fireballs ca hurtling back. Noir barely managed to sidestep it, and the fiery orb scorched the earth where he had just stood.
’Damn it! I need sothing stronger! Maybe another laser blast will do the trick.’
Noir soared through the air, his paws blazing with montum. As he flipped overhead, he unleashed four simultaneous laser beams that shot toward the ogre like lances of light.
The beast quickly dropped its hamr and pulled out its sword. With grit teeth and a guttural growl, it deflected each beam—but not without effort. The sheer power of the attacks forced it back, its heels carving trenches in the arena floor.
’That slowed it... but still not enough!’ Noir’s frustration mounted as he twisted midair and landed, the ground cracking beneath his weight.
Before he could recover, the ogre lunged with a surprising burst of speed. Its spear ca thrusting forward, aid right at Noir’s head. In a flash, the familiar shrank again, evading the fatal strike by re inches.
But the ogre wasn’t done.
With a fluid motion, it tossed aside the spear and gripped its giant hamr.
WHOOSH!
The weapon ca down like a teor. Noir’s eyes widened.
’Shit!’
Using every ounce of speed he had, Noir dashed to the side. The hamr slamd into the earth with a thunderous crash, obliterating everything in its wake and sending dust and debris rocketing in all directions.
"My chance," Noir growled under his breath.
In a flash, he launched four fireballs into the settling dust cloud. The blazing orbs burst forward, illuminating the smoky veil before slamming into the ogre’s broad back.
The impact detonated with force, peeling away layers of thick, hideous skin and sending chunks of smoldering flesh into the air.
"ARGHHH!" the ogre bellowed, staggering forward as searing pain coursed through its body. Streams of thick, black blood spilled down its spine.
Noir’s glowing eyes narrowed, a twisted smirk forming on his crimson-furred face. "I know Grey said this before," he snarled, "but I can’t help myself... So, you can bleed."
The ogre’s eyes flared with fury. "You annoying pest! I’ll rip you apart!"
With a furious roar, it burst forward like a juggernaut, hamr in hand. Noir, now in his smaller form, darted aside in a crimson blur, barely avoiding the massive hamr that crushed the ground behind him. He retaliated instantly, sending twin laser beams from his horn.
But the ogre was ready. It swapped weapons in a flash, drawing its colossal sword and slashing down with such force that it deflected the beams, scattering their energy into the dirt with sizzling cracks.
"You really should start thinking about giving up," the ogre yawned mockingly. "You’re starting to bore ."
Noir’s ears flattened slightly. ’I’m reaching my limit, he admitted inwardly. This is the longest I’ve stayed out since rging with Grey... The longer I remain out, the more my strength drains.
He gritted his fangs. How fragile is that damned human that he gets knocked out from a single hit?! And now I’m left fighting this monster alone!’
"What’s wrong? Confused as to why you still can’t land a proper hit?" the ogre taunted, a condescending smirk on his face.
"? Wondering why I can’t touch you?" Noir chuckled darkly through the ntal link. "You forget so soon? Who gave you that wound on your back?"
"A lucky shot," the ogre snarled, switching once more to its spear.
"A lucky shot? Let
prove otherwise."
With a deep growl, Noir rapidly expanded back to his house-sized form. His limbs pulsed with energy as he shot forward.
The ogre braced itself, spear in hand, and lunged with breathtaking speed. But Noir countered with a laser blast mid-charge, knocking the spear’s aim off-target.
Then, with a spin full of raw montum, he slamd his massive paw directly into the ogre’s face.
WHAM!
The ogre reeled backward, its boots carving trenches into the arena floor as blood trickled from its mouth.
Noir didn’t hesitate. The instant his paws touched the ground, he launched again, faster than before, a blazing teor of crimson and fury.
"I’ve had enough of you!" the ogre bellowed.
With one fluid motion, it hurled its massive hamr straight toward Noir’s head. The weapon howled through the air, a steel cot of destruction.
’Shit! That hamr is going to hit
soon!’ Noir howled in his mind as he tried to pivot aside but the hamr was heading towards him no matter where he turned until...
He twisted mid-air, trying to pivot out of its trajectory, but it hod in like a predator with locked jaws. Just as impact seed imminent—
BOOM!
A thunderous shockwave exploded across the battlefield. The ground cracked with imnse pressure that fissures ran deep across the ground and then at the head of the hamr, a red haired individual was seen with a smirk on his face, blood dripping down his face.
"So far for a boss beast, you couldn’t even kill soone properly. And thanks for that knockout, I finally figured out your weakness." Grey smirked as the ogre’s eyes widened because above it, a cyclone could be seen spinning violently in the air.
