The two of them walked leisurely like this, not knowing how far they had gone, as the barbecue restaurant behind them with its warm lights gradually beca a blurry glow, increasingly distant.
Suddenly, Li Jing felt a slight chill. He glanced down and realized that his bare feet had already stepped into the area touched by the seawater.
The cool seawater flowed over his ankles, bringing a refreshing sensation, waking him up from his alcohol-induced daze.
He wanted to share this strange feeling with Huang Qin next to him, but when he turned to look, he found Huang Qin’s eyes were misty, carrying traces of intoxication.
Apparently, the few bottles of wine they had earlier were starting to take effect, gradually causing her to get drunk.
Seeing this, Li Jing couldn’t help but softly ask:
"It looks like you’ve had quite a bit to drink; should I take you back?"
Huang Qin seed not to hear him, quietly feeling the caresses of the breeze, numbed by the alcohol, her senses dulled.
Li Jing looked at Huang Qin’s profile; under the moonlight, her red lips seed increasingly alluring, her delicate face as if coated with a soft glow, so beautiful it was hard to avert his eyes.
His heart moved slightly, as though driven by an invisible force, he reached out and wrapped his arm around Huang Qin’s waist.
Huang Qin finally noticed; as her waist was embraced, her expression shifted slightly. She slowly turned her head to look at Li Jing with a questioning gaze.
However, before she could open her mouth to speak, she felt the warmth of a body drawing close.
Imdiately after, Li Jing’s lips pressed against hers.
Huang Qin’s eyes widened instantly, stunned for several seconds without reacting.
Until she felt the other’s scorching body temperature, her rationality abruptly returned, and she forcefully stepped back several strides, pushing Li Jing away with both hands.
After pushing Li Jing away, Huang Qin was slightly panting, her chest heaving intensely; she looked at Li Jing in shock, her eyes filled with astonishnt.
And then briefly revealing displeasure, finally turning into a questioning gaze.
Clearly, she had not expected Li Jing to act this way but didn’t wish to completely sever ties with this hard-won friendship, so her gaze also carried a hint of inquiry.
Li Jing observed Huang Qin’s reaction and ca to his senses, speaking: "I’m sorry, I just lost control of myself."
His tone was calm, his expression candid; his gaze steadily t Huang Qin’s without dodging.
Listening to his explanation, Huang Qin lightly shook her head.
Perhaps the shock of that kiss had completely sobered her up.
Due to this unforeseen incident, she lost the mood to continue strolling, her expression sowhat complex as she said:
"Alright, we are both drunk, let’s go back."
After speaking, she turned around and headed towards the hotel, Li Jing silently following behind her, the atmosphere between them growing subtly awkward.
On the way back to the hotel, neither said a word, the car’s atmosphere particularly uncomfortable.
Between them seed to be an invisible wall, both silent.
Li Jing recalled that impulsive kiss just monts ago, under the circumstances, Huang Qin appeared particularly enchanting in the moonlight and waves; coupled with their intoxication, the impulse beca uncontrollable.
Though he didn’t feel overwhelmingly guilty, seeing Huang Qin’s reaction, he did feel sowhat apologetic.
However, he did not appear overly embarrassed and sat quietly in the car, lightly appreciating the nightlife outside through the window.
And unlike her previous warmth, Huang Qin was much cooler now.
She sat to one side, her delicate brows slightly furrowed, occasionally glancing at Li Jing with her peripheral vision, hesitating to speak, ultimately choosing silence.
The car slowly arrived at the hotel entrance, and they prepared to head to their respective rooms.
Just as they were about to part, Li Jing broke the silence, speaking calmly: "President Huang, thank you for your hospitality today, I apologize for earlier, please don’t mind.
If there isn’t anything else, I’ll head back to my room."
Huang Qin did not imdiately respond, seeing this, Li Jing didn’t say more and turned to leave.
Watching his departing back, Huang Qin’s brows furrowed slightly, recalling their interactions, hesitating and deliberating for a mont before finally speaking:
"President Li, wait a mont."
