"What is she doing, Hexael?" Pentael asks as we watch Setsuna slaughter monsters in the distance. I glance at her with a faint smirk, observing the scene as well.

"She’s trying to rapidly increase her power, and she’s succeeding. Setsuna decided to use her ti hunting monsters and committing a few evils in exchange for more power to protect her precious little girlfriend," I say mockingly.

"And why are you here wasting your ti watching this? I doubt there’s anything interesting about watching that girl kill these weak monsters," Pentael asks, sitting down beside while observing Setsuna from over forty buildings away.

"I’m gathering evidence. You can call it that if you want." Setsuna and I have a contract where I help her protect Ayane, and in return, if she does anything against Ayane’s decisions, it’s proof that she has lost, and she will owe a favor.

And the truth is, Setsuna has already broken this agreent. I just haven’t inford her yet because I want to let her make even more mistakes. Setsuna broke the agreent in a way even she hasn’t realized.

Of course, I wouldn’t make a fair deal. Setsuna didn’t understand the fine print of this contract. The act of her preventing sothing that was supposed to happen to Ayane already counts as a breach.

In other words, I am obligated to tell Setsuna if Ayane is in danger. However, Setsuna saving Ayane also counts as the condition she wasn’t supposed to break.

So, Setsuna broke this contract shortly after it was made. I’m just really waiting for the right mont to call her out on this mistake. I feel like the ti is finally nearing for the true Setsuna to appear.

"You and your broken contracts. Has that girl still not learned to stop making contracts with you?" Pentael speaks with an ironic smile on her face.

"She knows. But she can’t refuse. She needs my support, so to get my help, she keeps making more contracts with ," I tell her without much interest in the topic.

I need these contracts. Otherwise, she won’t do what I want her to do, and what she must do. So I really need to make these contracts as manipulable as possible.

"Will it take long? You’ve been spending too much ti here," she asks while I’m pondering this. I have a rough idea of how long it will take to get my desires fulfilled, provided there are no unforeseen complications.

"One year... is the maximum. But probably six months. Setsuna is already close to collapsing anyway..." When I say this, Pentael’s gaze narrows.

"Number One gave a ’prophecy.’ She says the following: ’[During the next period of 1 year and 2 months, we will face a life-or-death problem that will shake both demons and angels. If it isn’t resolved, it could result in the near-complete annihilation of both sides.]’" When she says this, I stare directly into her eyes.

"Hexael... you have nothing to do with this ’prophecy’ from Number One, right?" she asks with growing doubt, her look a mix of concern and suspicion.

"Of course not. Hahaha, how could I possibly kill everyone or be related to everyone’s death? After all, Number One is far too strong. And you know that only one in a hundred thousand of her prophecies is correct," I say with confidence.

"..."

"You’d better finish whatever you’re doing soon. You being here for so long has started to cause problems for us..." she says before vanishing completely without another word.

’Hmm... things are getting complicated... If Setsuna fails... I might end up being killed by Number One...’ I’ve staked my life on this. Setsuna depends on completely, but unfortunately, I also depend on her success.

"..." I stare into the empty space, thinking about all of this. I wish I could accelerate things more, but I can’t ruin everything by being too hasty.

’One year and two months...’ I look at Setsuna in the distance. She’s using her sniper-style rifle to hunt monsters and increase her power, even if the increase is minimal.

"If it’s you... yes... if it’s you, this prophecy could be real..." If it’s Setsuna, this could happen. But not the current Setsuna; she’s far too weak for that. However, if this prophecy is true, it ans my objective has beco reality.

"I’ll be waiting eagerly... so don’t disappoint , Setsuna, or it will be the end for both of us," I murmur, sitting down as I watch Setsuna kill another monster.

"After Christmas... without a doubt, after Christmas, Setsuna won’t be able to hold back anymore." Setsuna should enjoy this ti well, because I know that after this, she won’t be able to endure what she’s hiding anymore.

And to complent that, I’ll use our contract to make her aware of the truth. I didn’t make this contract just because I want to force Setsuna into sothing.

All the contracts I’ve made with Setsuna so far have been aid at a single thing: making Setsuna beco the Setsuna I want. And currently, the only remaining condition is for Setsuna herself to accept becoming what she must be.

And that’s what I’m waiting for. She’s already broken our contract, and I could call it in right now. But if she isn’t "well," showing her what I want her to see wouldn’t yield a good result.

I need her to see the truth only when she is ntally "well." And that’s why I’m grateful to that fool Ayane. She will be the cause of Setsuna’s collapse. This Christmas party is what I’ve been waiting for.

As soon as the party is over, on January 1st, I can act if I want. Knowing this excites because after Setsuna pays the price for the contract, it will only be a little while longer until she becos the Setsuna I want.

’I probably shouldn’t appear before Setsuna for now. I should let her enjoy life without worrying about ... It’s already the end of the year. I’ll give her this mont of peace.’ Once Setsuna learns the truth, even if she doesn’t want to, she will commit evil after evil.

’I wonder... if I will get exactly what I want... or if I’m deluding myself too much by hoping for this...’ I truly hope I’m not sinking into a sweet illusion that will ultimately reveal itself to be a bitter truth.

’Well, it doesn’t matter... I won’t stop now when I’ve co so far over so many years just for this... So if everything goes wrong for ... it’s over... I won’t get another chance. I’d rather be dead.’ If I fail, death is better than living without what I wanted.

"Haa... Enjoy this peaceful ti calmly, Setsuna. Things will get turbulent in the future," I say with a wide grin on my face before disappearing into a black mist.
