Magicians possess astonishing charm and easily mingle with others. This might stem from the power of their ancestry, as that mysterious aura always draws deep attention. If it were just about this, these people from the Underdark wouldn't be treated as they currently are. The dwarves later discovered that this group was organized and on an underground journey to find "sothing." This ti, their target was within the Dwarf City.
The dwarves did not want anyone to turn the city upside-down, perhaps only Lynch was an exception. But just suspicion wasn't enough to harden the hearts of the dwarves to drive out these magicians.
