"Understood." Lynch replied vaguely. He did not push the Desire Demon away but quietly focused his attention on Piffed. Eryies, not receiving a response from the Mage, humd in slight disappointnt near Lynch's ear before retreating back to her original position.

"I know of a guy who can do that; at least he had that ability a long ti ago. The only uncertainty is whether he has forgotten that skill now." The Abyss Demon rubbed his hands, the sharp fingers creating a rustling sound on the tough skin. "Mage, do you want this kind of information?"

"What kind of price is required, Mr. Refining Demon, please na it." The Mage leaned on his staff, naturally standing there, having anticipated this situation.

"Oh, I think you won't need to pay anymore because that would make seem uncharitable," Piffed said with so pride, excitent in his voice, "I think you could do a favor. During the Blood Wars, I was betrayed by a Six-Ard Snake Demon and suffered the only... setback of my life. Those guys now run faster than a fallen Fire Stone (a weather phenonon in Bator Hell) when they see . Since you are a Mage, you should have a good mind to see through the Snake Demon's tricks. What I want now is a thousand Snake Demon hearts!"

"A thousand?" Lynch frowned, pondering whether he should attempt other Teleportation Gates on different planes, hoping to get lucky and return to his own world. On the other hand, he was acutely aware of the dangers of dinsional travel; in this infinitely vast space, his life could be "explained" away at any ti. Moreover, was it worth abandoning a near-at-hand answer for a vague road ho?

The Desire Demon ca to the Mage's side and whispered, "The number of Snake Demons in the Blood Wars is very large, it's just that they prefer to hide behind the battle formations and command." She gently tugged at the Mage's collar edge, indicating him to heed her words, "However, for such a difficult issue, such an exchange condition is still acceptable."

Lynch raised his head and replied, "How do I know the direction you tell is the correct one? How can I be sure you're not replacing an accurate answer with a possibility? What guarantee do I have?"

"Oh, Mage, how can you be reassured?" The Abyss Demon said, "I fear I lack many things, but certainly not credibility! Human, do you have any suggestions?"

"Swear towards Bator Hell, saying you'll keep your promise. If I can't find the way ho you ntioned, you'll lose all your power!"

"As you wish, Mage. After all, I keep my word, and the agreents will all be honored." Piffed quickly swore the oath and then bent down, saying, "Human, I'm waiting for your good news, and you'd better not keep waiting too long." ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novel⟡fire

At this mont, the other Tifflins behind were already impatient, urging Lynch to move quickly to not delay their important demonic transactions. Eryies gently flashed them a smile, then blew a kiss with her hand. Imdiately, all complaints vanished, and the line returned to calm.

After Piffed finished speaking, Lynch pulled a gemstone from his pocket. The drop-shaped crystal had countless facets, with any light continuously reflecting and strengthening within it. But even the red glow of Bator Hell couldn't make it emit any color other than white light. The Devil's gaze was imdiately drawn to this exquisite creation, staring unblinkingly at the Mage's right hand.

"See, in the center of the gemstone, there's a red area that is identical to the gemstone's shape." Lynch pointed to the item in his hand and said, "That is Blood Tears, also known as the King's Tears, the most precious gemstone in the Multi-Universe!"

"I know, I know..." Piffed's claws trembled constantly, his gaze never leaving the white glow. "Mage, do you wish to exchange it for a thousand Snake Demon hearts? To be honest, I am very fond of such a trade, but an agreent is an agreent, and it can't be altered now."

"In that case, I have another proposal," Lynch maintained a steady tone and said, "Maybe you can tell a safe and fast way to fulfill that commission, after all, I don't have much ti to spend here."
