cmfu发布 Looking at Wislin's expression of focused listening, Lynch continued, "The most important thing now is to preserve our combat strength! Only by doing so can we wear down the giants."

cmfu发布 "I don't know what combat strength ans, but I do know that with every annoying giant killed, there's one less annoying giant in the world," Morgan stood on his bed, striking a pose as if delivering a speech to the other two.

cmfu发布 The mage turned his head, waving his hand and reciting the spell "Grease!" A slick patch of oil encased the dwarf's feet, causing Morgan to imdiately lose his balance and tumble onto the floor with a thud. As he tried to get up, he fell again, sending the decorations, candlesticks, and scattered plates on the windowsill and table into another round of chaos. The dwarf finally decided to lie flat on the floor and didn't bother getting up again, continually puffing his beard and rolling his eyes at the mage.

cmfu发布 "Wislin, I want to ask you a question." Lynch looked at the now subdued dwarf, then turned and said, "Why did you want to beco a paladin?"

cmfu发布 "For justice and honor!" Wislin replied without hesitation, "We paladins fight bravely for honor and justice."

cmfu发布 "So, for whose honor? Is it yours or God's?"

cmfu发布 "Hmm... both, I guess." Wislin rubbed his chin, finding the question indeed difficult to answer, "But from my point of view, it should also involve the honor of the ordinary people we must protect."

cmfu发布 "Well said. So, would you endanger the populace to prove your personal honor?"

cmfu发布 "Hmm? What are you trying to say? Stop beating around the bush." Having spent a long ti with each other, they were well acquainted, and Wislin instinctively sensed the mage had sothing particular to say.

cmfu发布 Lynch didn't beat around the bush with the knight anymore; he recounted everything he saw that night when Dragon Slayer Macken went to the prayer room to Wislin. Once he finished speaking, the room was left in silence.

cmfu发布 "This battle is no longer about defending Moon Harbor City. It's about proving the so-called honor of a paladin—his own honor."

cmfu发布 "No! It's not like that."

cmfu发布 "Knights are always required to be generous and selfless, aren't they? So, imposing a great threat on innocent people for one's so-called honor—doesn't that count as selfish?" Lynch unhesitatingly pointed out the essence of Knight Macken's actions, "I don't think Macken intended it that way; he's just finding a reason for himself, a reason to carry out Duke Gangsa's orders."

cmfu发布 "Are you saying that Duke Gangsa gave orders to lure the giants here in a mont of clouded judgnt, but he himself lacks the ability to withstand it? That doesn't make any sense. The duke's ancestors have lived here for generations; why would he place himself in danger?"

cmfu发布 "No, having checked on the duke, his health is intact, and no magic or divine arts have been cast on him. It seems he made that order of his own volition."

cmfu发布 "Then aren't you in danger, Wislin?" the dwarf lying on the floor spoke up, "But don't worry, as long as I'm here, nothing will happen to you. Just stick close to ..." Seeing the mage's stern gaze, the dwarf suddenly felt it was a better idea to remain silent.

cmfu发布 "Wislin, leave Moon Harbor City. The war has entered a delicate phase. Moon Harbor City is now like soone walking a tightrope over a deep abyss with blindfolded eyes, ready to fall at any mont."

cmfu发布 "Precisely because of this, I must stay!" Wislin thought it over, then affird resolutely.

cmfu发布 "Even if you insist on staying, I won't force you, but you shouldn't go out and fight tomorrow, it's nothing short of suicide. Your cavalry alone cannot pose any threat to the giants!"

cmfu发布 "Perhaps you're right, but as long as the orders co, I will execute them." Wislin looked at the mage, "I hope you can pray for then." The quasi-knight lowered his head again, starting to polish the armor he would wear the next day.

cmfu发布 "You know, I never pray..." the mage got up, knowing his companion's character well. Wislin would not be persuaded anymore; the conversation had co to an end.
