Lynch awoke from his stupor, and the first thing he saw was Zilvra’s concerned eyes. Her complexion looked extrely haggard, and the bloodshot lines in her eyes clearly indicated that the Drow woman hadn’t rested for many days.

Zilvra gently sniffed, holding back the tears in her eyes, and suddenly donned a cold visage. She said in a stern voice, "Male! Get up from the floor at once!"

There was a distinct tremor in that voice.

Looking around his surroundings, Lynch saw the familiar two rows of glowstone pillars still lit with purple light. At the end of the two rows of light, atop the high steps, Matron Batana sat in her enormous high-backed chair, resting her chin as she looked at the human still sitting on the ground.

The mage imdiately understood; he was in the Audience Room of the first family. Zilvra’s change in expression was definitely related to the Matron. But how did he co to be in this place?

"You have finally awakened, my Adviser Mage." Matron Batana stood up and slowly descended the steps, "Your life force is indeed resilient, managing to wake up after five days of unconsciousness."

"Than..." Lynch discovered his throat had beco extrely hoarse, and every word he uttered felt like a needle prick. He found a small wine pouch in his pocket, containing red wine he had purchased from Stoneleg.

After a few gulps of the cool wine, Lynch felt much better. He used his hands to support himself on his knees and slowly stood up, only then realizing how weak he truly was.

"Thank you for your assistance." Lynch gave a slight bow, his sore back nearly unable to straighten after bending.

"Hmph, human, you have quite so nerve. Do you even know what you have done?" The Matron said angrily.

Lynch glanced up at Batana, her tone was indeed furious, but there was no hint of it on her facial expression.

"Honorable Matron, I exterminated an impostor priest of the Spider Goddess, that’s all. How could there be a male Drow priest in the world?" Lynch’s voice was soft and slow, as if even this little strength had faded away, yet he managed to finish the sentence.

"Do you think you can speculate on the intentions of the Spider Goddess?" Batana laughed twice, "But that Somizar was indeed a priest of the Spider Goddess, though he was not male."

At this point, the Matron laughed heartily, "The second family is good in every way except they have too few priests, so in desperation, they sent the family’s second son to the temple to study. The Spider Goddess decreed that from then on, that fellow was no longer male."

"However," the Matron’s tone suddenly beca very serious, "who would have thought that boy would beco outstanding among the priests. Without him, the second family would have long since disappeared. So, well done on the killing!"

"Thank you for the praise, Matron." Zilvra hurriedly said on behalf of Lynch.

"Hmph! Don’t think I know nothing; wasn’t it you who gave the order? How else would the Adviser Mage take action? Especially in such a weakened physical state?" Batana walked to Zilvra’s side, "You need to learn to think critically, even if you must act, you shouldn’t do it in the Spider Temple! You must learn to think, or how will you lead the first family in the future?"

"Ah..." Zilvra was taken aback, "Lead the first family? Honorable Matron, I am not even a priest!"

"The things of a priest can be learned!"

"But isn’t Zarra more suitable than I am?" Zilvra hastily said, "She is already the finest priest..."

"Zarra? Is there soone by that na in our family?" Batana took out her whip and struck Zilvra’s arm, leaving a line of blood marks, "Rember! What I say is the truth!"

"Yes, Matron." Zilvra dared not even rub her wound, bowing her head and responding quietly.

"As for you, Adviser Mage..." Batana moved to stand before Lynch, the snake head whip in her palm tapping lightly, "You dared to kill a priest inside the Spider Temple, you truly have audacity! Tell , should I reward you or punish you?"

"Perhaps you could see the reward as my punishnt, honorable Matron." Lynch made a gesture, and the Powerful Wand which had been lying beside him returned to his hand. Leaning his entire body weight on this wand, Lynch smiled and said, "Matron, I fear I cannot withstand any punishnt."
