anwhile, Elliott was still soaring through the hallways, forcing himself to stop when he reached Adam's laboratory.
The assistant opened the door and eyed Elliott curiously, asking, "Mr. Elliott! Is sothing the matter?"
Elliott didn't answer, glancing anxiously in the laboratory. The assistant got worried and tried calming him down, "Mr. Elliott? Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Where's Jas? Isn't he supposed to be in the laboratory?" Elliott asked, grabbing the apprentice's arm.
"Mr. Jas? He applied for leave not long ago."
"Damn it!" Elliott yelled, slapping his forehead.
Elliott barged into the laboratory, darting towards Adam's office. If Adam is willing to do sothing, maybe he can save Jas' life.
However, the person sitting inside the office was the devil, and Elliott's hopes and dreams shattered into a million pieces, "My master is presiding over the experint, - he ordered to not allow anyone to disturb him."
Elliott sat down in the office and sighed, telling the devil about Jas. Unexpectedly, the devil rolled their eyes and said, "Although the master is busy, I'm still here. Let's go!"

In his experint room, after three full months of tweaking the results, he found a new empirical thod suitable for his current situation.
He rembered that the concept of 'magic' was present in the nineteenth century back on Earth, finding that many experints took into account the hypothetical 'ether'. However, since Earth didn't have any magic or ether, those experints were cast aside.
However, he could test these theories in the Mage World.
His subsequent experints went relatively smoothly.
Over the course of the experints, he found that his previous failures were attributed to ether not being fully incorporated in the experint. Combining the accumulation of research in the past ten years, he was able to instruct his senior assistants to carry out one test after another in a rapid and orderly manner.
The active ether environnt made the assistants uneasy, but nobody was willing to leave. With conclusions being established, they all realised that an unprecedented theory was about to be born, and none of them wanted to miss out on it.
Korver almost died because of these experints, and Adam forced every assistant to equip a detection device to prevent them from exploding in the ether-rich environnt. Once the device rings, an alchemy puppet will eject them out of the laboratory.
"Experint #1 is successful, and we established a conclusion!"
"Experint #2 is successful as well, Mr. Adam!"
Adam received all of the conclusions gathered, working hard to co to a final conclusion.

"Regardless of the existence of insulating substances, as long as there is an electric field, ether will be present. The magnitude of the displacent is proportional to the strength of the electric field. When the displacent of the charged particles changes with ti, a current will be ford, and the displacent current confirms this."
"A magnetic field will be generated, which ans the equations will tally..."
Adam continued writing, and when he wrote the last letter on the paper, his body was enveloped in light as he was forcefully suspended in the air.
The gift from the ether descended upon him, penetrating into his soul. Runes shone brilliantly as mysterious rays of light appeared out of thin air, rging into his soul. Electricity and magnetic fields started to revolve around Adam, and he could feel his soul transforming in real ti. Adam clenched his hand, feeling his soul collapsing and reorganising into a perfect form.
This affected the assistants present as well, and their alarms sounded one after another as they were ejected out of the laboratory.
"We're successful!" the assistants shouted outside. "We jointly verified new knowledge! We... we did it!" A faint etheric radiance remained on the assistants, blessing them.
They couldn't help but be excited. They knew they were just one of the countless ordinary apprentices in the Mage World, hoping on a miracle to be lucky enough to be a qualified mage.
But today, with their joint efforts, they managed to confirm electromagnetism, becoming the creators and witnesses of a great field.
Korver felt that his ntal power was unprecedently active and growing rapidly, wisdom gracing his soul. His previous unsolved thoughts were solved in an instant.
"Mr. Adam... is he a qualified mage now?" an assistant asked.
Nobody doubted this, feeling the wonderful presence of ether radiating from within the laboratory. "He must be! From today on, we are assistants in a qualified mage's laboratory! Maybe we can beco great people too!"
However, as soon as he spoke, the presence of ether dissipated imdiately from within the laboratory, and all of them looked at the entrance to the laboratory in horror.
"...what?"
"No -- is the theory wrong? Does it not exist?!" Korver shouted.
