...
At this mont, the second floor of the villa was in shambles. Although the exchange of blows had been incredibly fast, the resulting destruction was imnse.
Floor tiles had been pulverized piece by piece, and the concrete beneath had been stomped into deep craters.
Two entire walls had been completely demolished.
While the first floor was also in disorder, it fared much better than the level above.
Chen Wujun threw Nguyen Minh Kim to the ground and stomped down, snapping his leg bone. With an expert of this caliber, he couldn't keep eyes on him constantly; breaking his limbs was the only way to feel at ease.
Now that both arms and one leg were broken, the man couldn't run even if he wanted to.
Nguyen Minh Kim coughed up blood and smiled miserably. "You went through all this trouble to set a trap for ... what is this all for?"
They had arrived in West Embanknt this afternoon and found him by evening. The only explanation was that this had been a setup from the very beginning.
He just didn't know what their objective was.
"Us? A trap?" Chen Wujun's eyes darted around, his expression turning playful.
"What do you think Master Xin's goal is?" Chen Wujun asked lightly.
"I don't know. Things have reached this point, and my life is in your hands. At least let die an inford ghost," Nguyen Minh Kim rasped with a grimacing smile.
Seeing that he didn't deny the connection, Chen Wujun burst into laughter.
This guy really was colluding with Master Xin.
His brain really was sharp. He had guessed it imdiately, and then went straight for the... straight for the... straight for the...
Well, the sentint was correct.
"So, those blade-wielders and the police this afternoon—were they your arrangent?" Chen Wujun asked, looking down at Nguyen Minh Kim.
Nguyen Minh Kim paused. He picked up on a hidden layer of aning in Chen Wujun's words.
This man wasn't one of Master Xin's people.
Yet, he had still found him.
His gaze swept over Chen Zhonghong, who was hiding to the side. He realized how they had located him, but he still didn't understand.
To find him in such a short ti ant they had co specifically for him.
Why?
A bitter expression filled Nguyen Minh Kim's face.
Chen Wujun saw his expression and guessed his thoughts. He didn't press further. Now that the main target was secured, the rest wasn't his concern.
He just needed to hand him over to Shark Jiu.
"Watch him."
Chen Wujun walked upstairs while dialing Shark Jiu. As soon as the call connected, he heard the sound of wind and sirens on the other end.
"What's the situation?" Shark Jiu asked from the other end, sitting on a rooftop looking down.
"Sister Shark Jiu, caught him. It's just as we thought—Nguyen Minh Kim is colluding with Master Xin," Chen Wujun said, his voice tinged with amusent.
"Bring him back to the villa." Shark Jiu grinned, a cruel smile spreading across her face.
Originally, Master Xin was in the dark while they were in the light. Master Xin had colluded with local gangs, possessing both the manpower and the terrain advantage.
However, things had progressed so smoothly that it exceeded her expectations.
The tide was beginning to turn.
Below her, a figure smashed through a window and flew out, crashing onto a police car.
It was an officer from the Special Task Departnt.
These people had just rushed in to capture Elephant, but they ca out as quickly as they went in.
Less than half a minute later, several gunshots rang out from the room. Then, a figure suddenly leaped from the window. In an instant, his foot hooked the windowsill, swinging his body down below the opening. He then pressed his hands against the wall and launched himself back up with even greater speed.
Despite his massive physique, his movents were anything but clumsy.
It was Elephant.
Imdiately after, two agents from the Special Task Departnt rushed to the window with guns drawn. They looked down, and their pupils constricted.
Elephant had curled his body into a ball and was smashing back towards them at high speed.
Bang! Bang!
Muzzle flashes lit up the night.
Elephant managed to twist his body in mid-air, dodging one shot, though the other punched a hole through his shoulder.
But Elephant's objective was achieved. His body suddenly unfurled in the air, his arm extending abruptly like a Great Spear to strike one of them in the chest. The man's chest collapsed instantly.
The sickening sound of fracturing bones echoed.
From jumping out, hooking the ledge, to springing back in—the entire sequence happened in a flash of lightning. His figure vanished back inside the window.
Several more gunshots rang out from the room, followed by another person being hurled through the window, crushing the roof of a car below.
Watching this scene, Shark Jiu confird that Elephant was not one of Master Xin's n.
It was fortunate he was causing such chaos here, drawing all the police attention.
She turned and left, leaping directly off the other side of the building.
This was a building over ten stories high; even a man made of iron would be flattened upon impact.
Yet Shark Jiu rely tapped the window ledges as she descended to slow her montum, landing on the ground in just a few movents.
She then slipped into her car.
"Let's go. Back to the villa."
...
Chen Wujun went to Nguyen Minh Kim's bedroom and study on the third floor. His eyes road the room until he tore down a painting, revealing a safe behind it.
Chen Wujun imdiately went downstairs and hauled Nguyen Minh Kim up. He asked with a smile:
"How do I open the safe? What's the combination?"
"You're a boss; there's no need to hide things at this point. If you cooperate with what cos next, you might still keep your life and enjoy a peaceful retirent."
Nguyen Minh Kim didn't hesitate for a second, reciting the password imdiately.
Being stubborn now would only lead to more suffering.
Chen Wujun's last remark, however, had given him a glimr of hope.
Chen Wujun opened the safe to find a pile of cash. It looked like a lot, but in reality, it was only about a million.
After all, this was a new villa, so Nguyen Minh Kim wouldn't keep too much money here.
Besides the cash, there was also the property deed for the villa.
Chen Wujun was in a good mood; at the very least, this was an unexpected windfall.
Such a villa could easily be worth two million. Adding the cash here and what he had scavenged from Nguyen Phuc Hung, this trip had earned him enough to buy a condo unit and a shop in a high-end community in North Port.
Once his family was settled, he would have no more reservations.
Finding a bag to stow the loot, Chen Wujun dragged Nguyen Minh Kim downstairs.
Monts later, the group drove back to their villa.
Chen Wujun dragged Nguyen Minh Kim into the living room, threw him on the floor, lit a cigarette from the table, and sat aside.
About half an hour later, Shark Jiu returned.
Hearing the car stop, Nguyen Minh Kim stared at the entrance, his pupils constricting.
A short-haired woman, over 1.85 ters tall and dressed in dress pants and a shirt, walked in with an imposing aura.
Although she didn't overtly display her power, Nguyen Minh Kim knew she was the one in charge.
Shark Jiu!
He wasn't entirely ignorant of Master Xin's targets.
He just hadn't expected them to find him after barely half a night.
His contact with Master Xin's subordinates had been secret.
"Sister Shark Jiu, this is Nguyen Minh Kim," Chen Wujun greeted with a smile.
Shark Jiu nodded and sat down awaiting him.
"Mr. Nguyen of the Pingchuan Gang. I didn't expect our first eting to be under such circumstances."
"What benefits did Master Xin offer to make you work for him?"
"The Magnetic Field Crystal business in West Embanknt. He promised to hand it over to ," Nguyen Minh Kim said, hiding nothing now that his life was in their hands.
"The Xionglong Gang has always handled the Magnetic Field Crystals here. He told you he wanted to change partners? How could you believe him? After all, the Xionglong Gang is half Huayan by blood," Shark Jiu said indifferently.
Nguyen Minh Kim noticed the rows of sharp, shark-like teeth in her mouth. Even when she spoke calmly, they gave her an air of wickedness and cruelty.
"He said the Xionglong Gang was getting greedy and he wanted a new trade partner... and he didn't ask much of ... It was a chance..." Nguyen Minh Kim said bitterly.
Humans die for wealth just as birds die for food.
The temptation of the Magnetic Field Crystal channel was too great; as long as there was a chance, he wouldn't let it slip.
Since he only needed to use his connections with the West Embanknt Federal Police to get them to act, he hadn't thought the risk was high.
Yet here he was, completely ruined.
Shark Jiu pondered for a mont, then smiled, looking down at him imperiously.
"How about this: I'll make a deal with you. There are no Magnetic Field Crystals, but I'll trade your life for your cooperation."
"I agree! I'll cooperate," Nguyen Minh Kim agreed without a second thought.
Shark Jiu wasn't surprised by his decisiveness in the slightest.
Nguyen Minh Kim wasn't a formidable figure—otherwise, the Pingchuan Gang wouldn't have been cannibalized step by step over the years—but he understood basic survival.
"What did Master Xin ask you to do?"
"Manufacture a major cri to get the police to target you. Also, I bribed a Superintendent in the Criminal Division..." Nguyen Minh Kim imdiately demonstrated his value.
He knew clearly that the more useful he was, the better his chances of survival.
"Who was your contact?" Shark Jiu asked.
"A man nad Fat Nan."
"So it was him!" Shark Jiu nodded.
Fat Nan was Master Xin's trusted confidant; it was only natural he would be sent to arrange this.
"Help leak so information and set up a trap. After it's done, I'll let you go!" Shark Jiu said.
"Do you keep your word?" Nguyen Minh Kim's eyes lit up, his mind racing.
"Your life is useless to . Why would I want it?" Shark Jiu said calmly, rely stating a fact.
"But my arms and leg are crippled. Even if you let go, the traitors won't spare ," Nguyen Minh Kim said, shifting the topic.
"You help get rid of the traitors, and I'll leak the news for you!"
"I don't care about your internal affairs. While I'm in West Embanknt, I can ensure your safety. As for how you fight afterwards, that's your own business." Shark Jiu completely ignored his petty maneuvering.
"There's a saying: 'They are the knife and the block, while we are the fish and the at.' Right now, you are the fish on the chopping block. You are in no position to bargain."
"How about this: you pay a sum, and before I leave, I'll break the hands of Nguyen Phuc Hung and Chen Zhonghong for you," Chen Wujun interjected suddenly, his eyes twinkling.
"Done!" Nguyen Minh Kim agreed imdiately, then asked, "How is Chen Jinyong?"
"Relax, he didn't betray you."
Chen Wujun was in high spirits. As expected, if one was flexible, money could be made anywhere.
With Nguyen Minh Kim handled, the dynamic of light and shadow between them and Master Xin had been reversed.
