On May 2, 2010, during the first weekend of the North Arican sumr box office, Inception held a grand North Arican premiere at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Duke, the director, along with the lead actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Jas Franco, and Michael Caine, were all present. The event was luxurious, stirring excitent among fans lining both sides of the red carpet.

The sumr box office is always the hottest and most competitive ti of the year for movies, and this year was no exception. From vampires to evil aliens, to Cats & Dogs 2 starring a dog who never ages and can talk, all were aggressively promoting their films to bombard the public’s attention.

As the fierce competition was just beginning, Duke tead up with Warner Brothers to deliver the eagerly anticipated Inception. Due to the film’s mysterious title and Warner’s strict first-class secrecy about the script, the movie was shrouded in the unique mystique typical of Hollywood.

As usual, Duke maintained a low profile during non-essential monts, leaving the important red carpet ti to the stars.

Leonardo DiCaprio, dressed in black formal wear, chatted and laughed with Oscar-winning Charlize Theron, who wore a red floral short dress. Their relaxed deanor and willingness to pose patiently for dia and fans made for perfect photo opportunities.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jas Franco walked the red carpet side by side, both wearing similar black tuxedos, seemingly signaling their close friendship to the outside world...

Duke, escorting Scarlett Johansson, quickly passed through the red carpet and was about to enter the interview area when he unexpectedly ran into soone.

"Hey, Duke. Hi, Scarlett." Brad Pitt greeted them warmly.

Duke and Scarlett shook his extended hand in turn, and Duke curiously asked, "What brings you here?"

"I haven’t seen the film yet..." Brad Pitt replied vaguely. "Wanted to get an early look."

Duke could guess Brad Pitt’s intentions and didn’t press further. The three chatted as they headed toward the interview area.

Still, Brad Pitt’s presence was surprising to Duke.

This was the first weekend of the sumr box office, and not only was Inception a big-budget comrcial film releasing, but Sony Columbia’s Salt, starring Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt’s current girlfriend was also officially premiering in North Arica.

Brad Pitt skipping Salt’s premiere to co here suggested he wanted to cultivate a good relationship with Duke.

Duke could understand this. What he couldn’t understand was how strange Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s relationship was.

The gossip surrounding these two was not only a hot topic among Aricans but also the center of Hollywood’s internal discussions, as their entanglents were endless.

Take this year as an example: rumors once circulated that they were about to marry. But last month, Angelina Jolie was reportedly caught red-handed at ho with Brad Pitt and the nanny. Angry, Angelina only fired the nanny and let it go.

Then, inside Hollywood’s upper circles, more rumors spread. Brad Pitt hired a private investigator to dig into Angelina Jolie’s past, discovering her chaotic life around 1999, including wild, inappropriate videos and self-harm photos.

Brad Pitt understood that Jolie had worked hard to build her image in recent years, and if the scandals surfaced, it would severely hurt her and their children. So, he spent $10 million to buy the old videos and photos, effectively "cleaning" her reputation.

Though these reports’ authenticity was unknown, rumors often have so basis, and over ti, more than ninety percent of Hollywood gossip eventually gets confird by various evidence.

From Duke’s understanding, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie mostly played their own separate lives, ignoring each other as long as they weren’t caught.

Of course, their reputation on the internet wasn’t good. But they were just a microcosm of Hollywood. Jennifer Aniston, who portrayed the victim of marriage, wasn’t much better. The Arican sweetheart’s speed in changing boyfriends was astonishing. After Friends ended, she faded into obscurity and in interviews often ntioned Brad Pitt as her true love.

This was just a typical Hollywood publicity stunt; the industry’s culture was like that, and no one could say much. For example, many knew Demi Moore was bisexual and often invited other won to join her and her then-husband Ashton Kutcher in threesos, but no one found it strange.

Also, Angelina Jolie’s ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton openly pursued Jennifer Aniston, but everyone knew it wasn’t for love...

Using connections to celebrities, or any elent that can be exploited for publicity, is sothing every Hollywood star or aspiring star does.

Showing off affection is a regular promotional tactic in Hollywood.

However, so dislike this thod. Duke knew well that love was never sothing to show off; displayed love quickly withers and dies almost a Hollywood law.

Whether dating Ivanka Trump or being with Scarlett Johansson, Duke, like Steven Spielberg and Jas Caron, didn’t mind appearing with their partners in front of the dia, but only to that extent.

Even when asked in interviews about each other, Duke and Scarlett only spoke about the film.

Standing in the interview area, when asked about the film, Duke cooperatively said, "The relationship between the conscious world and the dream life is sothing I’ve always found very interesting and contradictory. In dreams, whether they are fearful, joyful, or idealized states, they are all uncontrollable creations of the brain, mind, and consciousness. The imaginative space created by dreams is extraordinary. I started considering how to present this infinite energy on the big screen from a very humanistic perspective, using a grand action movie style to express it..."

A reporter from The New York Tis then turned to Scarlett and asked, "Miss Johnson, what do you think is the focus and core idea of this film?"

Hearing this question, Duke took a slight step back and gave way to Scarlett.

She was obviously well-prepared and responded directly, "I discussed the character and script with the director. I believe Inception’s focus is that dreams can be shared... The dreams are designed to be incredibly realistic both visually and perceptually, so that the drear is completely unaware that this is just a dream. In that subconscious state, a person’s deepest, most precious secrets are all revealed."

Scarlett thought for a mont and added, "Duke has said that the core idea of this film is that the birth of a concept is like a highly elastic, living parasite. The traces it leaves behind will always exist sowhere in your brain. If soone can invade your dream space and wantonly act in an extrely real way, even stealing an incredibly private concept, this kind of narrative entry point would be very captivating."

Although more questions were raised by reporters, Duke and Scarlett no longer answered. With security personnel escorting them toward the photo area, the dia found better interviewees, as Leonardo DiCaprio had already entered the interview zone.

Leaving aside Leonardo’s fa and appeal, the emotional drive of this film cos from the core character, Dom Cobb, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

As the lead actor, Leonardo DiCaprio faced the dia caras and said, "Duke’s script attracted . The story in the script is highly entertaining, with diverse expressions of suspense anything could happen. But the key is that the protagonist wants to pursue a long-hidden truth, to find the way ho. The story itself is very original; no one has had even a similar experience, and it’s impossible to imagine what that feeling would be like. All of this excites greatly, because I get to participate in this film and work with Duke! He is absolutely an expert in handling multi-layered storytelling and will make the audience feel a tangible reality."

Standing next to Leonardo was Charlize Theron, who was also the focus of dia attention. This Hollywood female superstar fully displayed her elegant and noble deanor, saying, "Without a doubt, I’ve already seen the finished film. It’s like reading a Haruki Murakami novel the movie is full of fantasy, but that world doesn’t feel like a strange surreal place; it has a strong sense of presence. The abundant emotional segnts in the film are also an indispensable core. Although the story is complex, it never deliberately confuses people."

The main actors gradually entered the interview area, and after routine interviews, they successively moved to the backdrop covered with sponsor logos for group photos. At this mont, the stars shone brightly. In today’s Hollywood, having so many stars gathered in one film is quite rare.

For the film industry, a saying from the country Duke once lived in fits perfectly "Good wine needs no bush," but the film’s glamorous star lineup will ensure it is discovered by more movie fans!

Standing in front of the backdrop, the crew took a group photo together, then took photos with the sponsors. After nearly half an hour, Duke finally led the main cast and crew into the Hollywood Chinese Theatre, where Inception would begin its premiere.
