Afterward, their eyes scanned the surroundings. The uneven cliff face had a lot of thick vines hanging down, and more than ten ters below them, fireflies dotted the Abyss, illuminating its bottom.
"Does it look like there’s sothing down there?"
Qin Qin glanced at the Abyss more than ten ters below, and through the light of so fireflies, it seed like there was sothing there.
"Let’s go have a look."
"Be careful."
Mo Yunchen softly said to Qin Qin. Qin Qin nodded, and the two of them descended towards the bottom of the Abyss with so difficulty, using the vines.
Although it was just over ten ters, it took them almost twenty minutes to reach the bottom.
There were a lot of fragnted rocks. The bottom of the roughly twenty-ter diater Abyss had a few moderately sized trees growing densely, with tens of thousands of fireflies flying among these trees.
Under the light of these fireflies, Qin Qin clearly saw the condition of the entire ground.
Besides a few trees, there was a small deep pool at the bottom of the Abyss.
Qin Qin and Mo Yunchen carefully surveyed their surroundings. Suddenly, Mo Yunchen focused his gaze a few ters away, "There’s sothing there."
Following his gaze, Qin Qin looked on in surprise and walked over to stand in front of the spot he was looking at.
"There are actually a few graves here?"
"Do you think this is the place where people from Peaceful Village escaped to? Since soone erected graves for them, it ans not everyone died. But why did these people jump down here?"
Such a deep Abyss, why would these people jump down here?
Mo Yunchen’s eyes swept the area, narrowing slightly, "I know the reason now."
Qin Qin looked at the spot several ters away from the graves, then walked forward with Mo Yunchen.
A few ters from the graves, a snake skeleton about more than ten ters long lay broken on the fragnted rocks. Due to the passage of ti, the snake was now just bones, with traces of spilled blood beneath them.
Grass had already started to grow on these snake bones.
Seeing this long-dead, broken snake skeleton, Qin Qin and Mo Yunchen both guessed the reason.
The people from Peaceful Village, forced into the Forest of Death, must have been chased into the cave by this Giant Snake and then jumped into the Abyss. A few of the fleeing people died, and this Giant Snake, upon falling into the Abyss, crashed onto the rocks and died.
Having seen the snake bones, Qin Qin and Mo Yunchen looked around, "Could the remaining people from Peaceful Village have left this Abyss?"
Mo Yunchen walked forward, his sharp gaze observing the surroundings closely.
Reaching a spot, Mo Yunchen tilted his head slightly and walked briskly forward, stopping at a place where vines hung from the cliff face. He raised his hand to tidy the vines away, revealing what lay beneath.
Standing beside Mo Yunchen, Qin Qin was shocked by the scene before her, "There’s actually a cave here?"
Before them was a cave that wasn’t particularly large. Qin Qin and Mo Yunchen exchanged a glance and walked inside.
The cave was not very big, and they could see everything inside with one look.
Qin Qin and Mo Yunchen stared at the scene before them, standing still for quite so ti.
After a mont, Qin Qin finally stepped forward into the cave.
This cave had no exit; inside there was nothing but rocks and three or four corpses.
Among them, two corpses held each other; after so much ti, they were just skeletons. Another corpse leaned against a rock holding its stomach, and the last lay on a rock, holding a small box in its hands.
"These four were likely the people from Peaceful Village. They still didn’t survive."
Qin Qin stood before the four corpses, sighing as she spoke. When she had seen those graves, she was hopeful that maybe those who escaped from Peaceful Village were still alive. But now, seeing this scene, she shook her head slightly, realizing that ultimately, none of them survived.
There was nothing to eat here, only water. Even if they escaped here, there was no food, and if she guessed right, these people likely starved to death in this place.
Thinking about this, Qin Qin clenched her fists tightly, wishing she could go out right now and kill those bad people.
In fact, before she entered the Forest of Death, she had already seen that man called the chieftain and knew a lot.
These people actually slaughtered many from Peaceful Village. When she saw that scene, she desperately suppressed her urge to kill because she hadn’t yet seen where the people from Peaceful Village had escaped to — she couldn’t kill them just yet.
