Chapter 220: Chapter 176: The Antique Street Incident Chapter 220: Chapter 176: The Antique Street Incident Outside Mo Yunchen’s mansion, Jing Zhii drove up in her white BMW, today she was here to celebrate Mo Yunchen’s birthday. She had just learned he had returned ho and was ready to head over.
Turning her head, she looked at the gift on the car seat, a piece of clothing she had picked out for him, he should like it, shouldn’t he?
The intricately carved gate was closed tight, Jing Zhii frowned slightly—normally, as soon as her car arrived, the bodyguards inside would quickly open the gate. What was happening today?
Jing Zhii waited for a while but the gate didn’t open; she then pressed the horn impatiently, and a bodyguard ca out.
“Miss Jing.”
“I want to go in. Why aren’t you opening the gate for today?”
The bodyguard showed a hesitant expression, then finally spoke slowly, “This is Master Mo’s order.”
Jing Zhii’s expression stiffened, she said in disbelief, “Impossible?!”
How could it be? For so many years, she had freely entered his villa, how could he possibly refuse her entry now?
“It’s true, Master Mo has ordered that Miss Jing is no longer allowed to enter this villa.”
Jing Zhii gripped the steering wheel tighter, her gaze suddenly turning toward the distant villa, her expression complex.
The next mont she drove away quickly, her speed indicating she was venting sothing.
She didn’t understand; she had been so good to him, why wouldn’t he give her a second glance, why wouldn’t he even allow her into his villa? Weren’t she and he ant to be together? What was it exactly?
Jing Zhii returned to the Jing Residence with the gift in hand. Jing Zhilei was sitting on the sofa, polishing her fingernails. Seeing Jing Zhii return, she sneered sarcastically, “What, did your Master Mo send you packing? Jing Zhii, you really do the Jing Family proud, how many tis has the man spared you a second glance over these years, yet you shalessly throw yourself at him. It’s truly disgraceful.”
Jing Zhilei had just finished speaking when she was suddenly throttled by a strong grip around her neck, her face dramatically changed as she t Jing Zhii’s grim gaze and managed to say, “Jing Zhii, I’m your sister, how dare you!”
Jing Zhii looked at Jing Zhilei with disgust, “We’ll see if I dare. You should know what I’m capable of, Jing Zhilei. Don’t make lose my patience with you.”
“What’s happening here?”
An elderly voice ca from upstairs. Jing Zhii released Jing Zhilei and looked up, “It’s nothing, Grandma. You go get so rest. I was just helping to dust off a bit of dirt from my sister’s collar.”
Old Madam Jing looked rather frail, a smile lifted her wrinkled face, nodding in satisfaction, “Mhm, go get so rest early.”
“It’s not… Grandma, Jing Zhii she…” Jing Zhilei didn’t want to miss the chance to tattle, but then she felt a silver needle rcilessly jab into her back, causing acute pain. She knew this was Jing Zhii warning her. Turning her head, Jing Zhii’s smile was cold, causing Jing Zhilei to shiver.
“What’s that? Zhilei, what did you want to tell Grandma?”
Old Madam Jing asked, her expression puzzled, looking fondly at her two granddaughters.
Jing Zhilei shook her head, her face ugly with displeasure, “It’s nothing, Grandma, I just wanted you to rest early. It’s all good.”
“You two should also rest early.”
Old Madam Jing turned and walked toward her room.
Once Old Madam Jing’s figure disappeared on the second floor, Jing Zhii withdrew the silver needle, smirked coldly, and turned to walk toward her room, ignoring the seething expression on Jing Zhilei behind her.
As soon as Jing Zhii entered her room, she violently threw the gift onto the floor, “Why? Why? Why?”
Jing Zhii’s gaze was icy, eyes nearly splitting, her fingernails digging into her palm.
The phone rang at that mont, Jing Zhii took a deep breath, composed herself back to her usual elegance, but upon seeing the caller ID, her expression darkened, “Mo Haoxuan, why are you calling ?”
She hated Mo Yunxuan, extrely so, hated his frivolous voice, hated him saying he liked her—she was destined for Mo Yunchen; how could she ever consider looking at him?
“What’s the matter? Prepared a thoughtful gift for him today, did he accept it?”
A mocking laughter ca from Mo Haoxuan on the other end.
Jing Zhii sneered, “Of course, we are having a candlelit dinner right now, it has nothing to do with you.”
“Candlelit dinner? Zhiyue, I’m not a fool. At this hour, you’re probably in your room throwing things around! I understand you better than anyone in this world, you and I are cut from the sa cloth, we should be together. Do you really think Mo Yunchen would fancy you?”
“Shut your mouth, just shut it! Even if he doesn’t fancy , I won’t set my sights on you.”
After her furious shout, Jing Zhii threw the phone against the wall, smashing it to pieces.
