Chapter 135: Chapter 135
"She will not love you, Sebastian Saenz. There is no love as great as a mother’s love. You can’t just throw your mother under the bus for a woman who wouldn’t accept you!" Camilla felt that she was speaking to a wall because no matter how many tis she tried to knock so sense into Sebastian’s head, he kept on staring at Winter with a gaze filled with unbridled love.
She realized that her son was hopelessly in love with Winter, but it was still hard for her to accept because she had spent decades raising Sebastian to be a perfect son for her, so she could get what she deserved.
She intentionally isolated Sebastian from any aningful relationship so he wouldn’t dare to fight back.
Camilla didn’t expect Sebastian would fall in love so deeply with Winter in less than a year.
"You’ve only known her for less than a year, and you are ready to throw everything that I built? You sure are an unfilial son, Sebastian," Camilla sneered. "Had I known that you would betray
like this, I would’ve just aborted you back then. Just like your father, you serve no purpose but hurting my heart."
Sebastian was silenced. He wanted to deny it, but it was the truth.
He had a good intention to finally put a stop to her mother’s cruelty, even if he had to betray her in the process.
Winter knew it was her ti to step into the fray. Sebastian had shown his sincerity by nding his mistake, and the least she could do was to make sure he was safe from Camilla’s manipulation.
"You keep speaking like he’s nothing but a re tool for you. You don’t see Sebastian as your son, you see him as a useful puppet you can order around," Winter scoffed.
"Shut up, Winter. You have no right to say anything right now. I’m talking to my son."
"And I’m speaking on behalf of my husband," Winter rebuked. "As his wife, I will ensure that he is not alone anymore."
"So, Sebastian Saenz—no, husband..." Winter turned her head and made eye contact with Sebastian who had been staring at her the whole ti. She also held his hand tightly and convinced, "You are never alone. As long as you treat
well, of course."
Sebastian nodded firmly as he had been given the green light from his wife.
He shifted his gaze to his mother and said, "If you have nothing else to say, then Winter and I will leave now. We have a trial to attend, and that will be the end. I’m cutting off my relationship with you, Camilla."
Camilla was shattered.
She had been pushed to the edge and learned that Winter had removed her control over her own son.
"What did you do to my son?" Camilla asked. "He barely knows you, so there is no way he can suddenly trust you over , his mother who raised him for more than a decade."
"Let’s just say that we bonded over the pain of betrayal. That pain was so awful that we preferred to die than to live in this tornting world," Winter cryptically said.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"You will never understand it. Because you’re not the one who got betrayed," Sebastian added. "I think we’re done here. There’s no point in debating with you, especially since the trial is about to start."
Sebastian and Winter stood up together, "Goodbye, Camilla."
"Wait, before you two leave, I have a little gift for you," Camilla prevented them from leaving as she patted the box in front of her and pushed it towards Sebastian and Winter’s side. "This box contains everything about Sebastian’s identity, including his identity as Rafael Kirk’s son. DNA test that Rafael asked once before his death, and also pictures of
and Rafael when we were dating."
"You an when you were his mistress," Sebastian sneered.
"You might think of
as nothing but a re mistress, but he is the one promising
to divorce his wife whom he doesn’t love and marry
instead," Camilla said. "I just want to have what’s rightfully mine."
Camilla shifted her gaze at Winter and added, "I never t a person as greedy as you, Winter. You should’ve known that Sebastian deserves Aiden’s inheritance more than you. I don’t expect you to give everything, but give him at least half if you want to divorce him soon."
"No, I don’t deserve any of it, and we’re not getting divorced!" Sebastian insisted. He was more scared of getting kicked out of Winter’s life than re money. He spent his life working his ass off to be where he is right now, so even though he wasn’t as rich as Aiden yet, he still had a long way to go and he didn’t need the inheritance.
Instead, he would probably die for the second ti if Winter divorced him, as he truly only had her in this life.
"I am a fair person, Camilla. All I did was protect Aiden’s wealth from grubby hands. Once Sebastian proves himself to be good enough, I’m more than willing to share it with him. He is my husband, after all."
Camilla finally had a relieved smile for the first ti in months now.
"Then, I have nothing against you anymore. If it’s not
who can have justice, then my son should," Camilla stood up and walked to the exit gracefully. Before she left, she looked over her shoulder towards Sebastian and Winter, before saying, "You don’t need to contact
anymore, Sebastian. We are not family, and never will be."
Sebastian and Winter stared at Camilla as she was being escorted by the bailiff.
Winter glanced at Sebastian who seed to be trying his best to let go, and she understood him well.
It wouldn’t be easy to break free from a toxic relationship, especially with a mother who abused him.
Thus, Winter picked up the wooden box Camilla gave and said, "Let’s see what’s inside later. We have a trial to attend."
