Liu Zhiyue finished eating the scallion pancake in no ti. After swallowing the last bite, he exclaid in surprise, “If you sell this in the morning, it’ll definitely be a hit!”

Hearing this, Lan Yixian turned to look at him and shook her head slightly.

“No, your father once told … you have to start with so promotions, let custors try it first, and then—”

“That’s not necessary,” Liu Zhiyue interrupted.

He wasn’t sure when his father had given her that advice, but he knew for a fact that this approach didn’t work for breakfast shops.

“Just sell it normally. When custors co in to buy stead buns and fried dough sticks, all you need to do is casually ntion that the shop has a new product.”

Lan Yixian was montarily stunned.

She knew Liu Zhiyue was a bright kid, but given his age, she found it hard to believe his words were more reliable than Liu Changqing’s.

What Liu Changqing had told her about marketing strategies was sothing he had casually ntioned during the ti she and her daughter were temporarily staying at his place. She didn’t rember the details, just vague ideas—discounts, promotions, clearance sales…

She hesitated.

Chewing her pancake slowly, Zhou Shiyan observed for a while before nodding in agreent.

“I think his suggestion is good. Our scallion pancakes taste great on their own. We don’t need promotions to attract custors.”

“Exactly.”

Liu Zhiyue nodded enthusiastically.

“The breakfast shop already has a steady custor base. As long as the price isn’t too high, and since these pancakes sll and taste amazing, they’ll naturally entice people to buy them.”

Lan Yixian listened to Liu Zhiyue’s confident reasoning, dumbfounded, and simply nodded along.

She more or less understood what he ant, but hearing such words from a fifteen-year-old still left her shocked.

This kid… knows so much.

It seed Liu Changqing really was skilled at raising children.

There’s a saying that parents are a child’s first teacher, and Lan Yixian believed it was Liu Changqing’s guidance that shaped Liu Zhiyue into such an impressive young man.

After all, she often heard her daughter ntion him at night… praising his academic talent.

After a long mont, Lan Yixian clapped her hands.

“Alright, we’ll go with your plan.”

Just as she finished speaking, sothing occurred to her. She quickly walked to the cutting board, sliced half a scallion pancake into small pieces, packed them into a plastic bag, and handed them to Liu Zhiyue.

He took it, a little confused, and after thinking for a mont, he asked, “Auntie, this is… a lot.”

“Take it ho for your dad to try.”

“Oh… okay.”

Realizing he had overthought it, Liu Zhiyue nodded and took the bag.

After chatting a bit more, he was ready to head ho.

Zhou Shiyan, still munching on her scallion pancake, walked him to the door. As he reached the bottom of the building, he glanced up and saw her still watching him, quietly eating her snack.

He didn’t say anything, just smiled and turned away.

Standing upstairs, Zhou Shiyan simply watched.

Watching as his figure grew smaller in the distance…

When Liu Zhiyue got ho, he unlocked the door with his key and saw his father and sister sitting on the sofa, fully engrossed in the TV.

It was a bit odd—his father usually spent evenings typing away on his keyboard, so why wasn’t he in his room today? But being the understanding son he was, Liu Zhiyue didn’t ask.

Instead, his attention was drawn to the flower on the coffee table.

After changing into his slippers, he walked over and picked up the rose, examining it closely to make sure it wasn’t a plastic fake. Before he could say anything, his sister’s voice rang out.

“That’s mine! You can’t take it, Brother!”

“I don’t even like flowers. What would I do with it…? Who gave it to you?”

Liu Xiazhi jumped off the sofa, ran up to him, and snatched the flower from his hands. Hugging it protectively like a prized treasure, she answered proudly, “Aunt An gave it to ! She said I’ve been really well-behaved lately, so this is my reward!”

“Aunt An… she ca over again?”

“Zhiyue, what do you an ‘again’? I told you before, Aunt An is teaching your sister to dance now. It’s hard work, so it’s perfectly normal for her to stop by once in a while.”

Liu Changqing corrected his son with a serious tone.

Hearing his father’s words, Liu Zhiyue froze for a mont.

Sothing… felt off.

Before he could think too much about it, Liu Xiazhi suddenly twitched her little nose and sniffed the air, her gaze locking onto the plastic bag in Liu Zhiyue’s hand.

“What’s that?”

“This? Aunt Lan asked to bring it ho… she called it a scallion pancake.”

He paused, then turned to Liu Changqing.

“She said you told her about it.”

“…”

Liu Changqing’s expression turned odd. He stood up from the sofa and walked over to take the bag from his son.

Opening it, a familiar aroma wafted out.

As if in disbelief, Liu Changqing reached inside, grabbed a piece, and took a bite.

The more he ate, the more serious his expression beca.

The flavor was slightly different from what he rembered, but one thing was undeniable—it was delicious.

He had only casually ntioned it once before… and she actually made it?

Liu Xiazhi eagerly ran up to him, eyeing the bag like a hungry kitten. Her mouth was practically watering.

Swallowing hard, she blurted out, “I want so too!”

“Alright, give it a try.”

Liu Changqing picked up a piece and shoved it into her mouth.

Then, he watched as her expression shifted into one of pure astonishnt.

After swallowing, her eyes practically sparkled as she stared at the scallion pancakes in his hand.

She stretched out her arms.

“I want more!”

“That’s enough. You already ate two bowls of rice this afternoon. You’ve exceeded your food quota for the day.”

“Humph!”

Hearing his response, Liu Xiazhi puffed out her cheeks in protest.

Seeing her reaction, Liu Changqing gave her a few more pieces but firmly refused to let her have any more after that.

Liu Changqing ate a few more bites himself, while Liu Zhiyue, having skipped dinner, ended up finishing the rest.

As he ate, he casually ntioned Lan Yixian’s plan.

“She’s going to start selling them tomorrow morning. I think they’ll do well.”

“They’ll definitely sell well. The only question is how long the hype will last…”

Liu Changqing muttered, still munching on the pancake.

Even if the initial excitent died down quickly, it would still be a good thing for Lan Yixian and her family.

After all, this was scallion pancakes we were talking about!
