Yao Xin seed to cherish that dress a lot. She adjusted the hem and finally looked at Yan Jinyi. She asked loudly, “Sister Jinyi, what is the brand of your dress? It’s nice.”
Yan Jinyi answered nonchalantly, “I bought it at a street stall.”
“Sister Jinyi, why are you wearing clothes from a street stall to set? That’s so disrespectful to the production team.”
Yan Jinyi shot her a cold glance and said, “I’m too poor to afford expensive clothes. Why don’t you take off your clothes and let wear them?”
She initially wanted to make Yan Jinyi feel ashad and embarrassed but to her surprise, Yan Jinyi replied in such a righteous manner.”
“Sister Jinyi, you might have misunderstood what I ant. We’re both from TG Entertainnt after all and we’re representing our agency. I have a spare set of clothes, why don’t I lend it to you?”
Yao Xin asked innocently with a radiant smile.
Fooling others with her innocent appearance was her forte and the persona that she had created for herself was that of a stellar student who was all about making peace and not getting involved in drama. Whenever she said or did sothing wrong, she could just make up for it with the excuse that she lacked experience in society.
Thus, Yao Xin had always been bold with her words and actions.
Her fans sincerely thought that it ant that a Yao Xin was genuine, straightforward, and had the bravery to speak her mind.
“I’m allergic to clothes that belong to others.”
Yao Xin gritted her teeth and secretly thought to herself that Yan Jinyi was being ignorantly arrogant.
‘Does she know how expensive my clothes are? It’s her honor that I’m offering to lend it to her.’
The guests had all arrived and when they noticed the tension between Yan Jinyi and Yao Xin, they sat down and got ready to watch how things would turn out.
Such argunts were a common sight in the entertainnt industry and many people have long gotten used to it.
Besides, they were both adopting the sa image and style now so it was inevitable that there would be a conflict between them.
At this mont, Yao Xin’s manager had already secretly spread the news of Yan Jinyi wearing clothes bought from a street stall, to film for a variety show.
Everyone had just finished introducing themselves at the location of the shoot.
Two male guests were humble enough to choose to sit beside Yao Xin while Yan Jinyi sat on her other side. Naturally, Yao Xin was in the center position.
It was an eye-catching spot where everyone would notice her.
“Yao Xin, I heard that you showcased your martial arts skills at a variety show and your appearance resembles Jinyi very much, so everyone has been calling you ‘Little Jinyi’. What’s your take on this?”
The host knew the important questions to ask. As soon as he said that, everyone turned to look at Yao Xin.
She was holding onto the microphone and looking at Yan Jinyi with awe and admiration in her eyes. “I really enjoyed the film, Female Fortress Leader, that Sister Jinyi starred in. I watched it over and over again at ho during my free ti. My parents have always wanted to focus on my academics so I don’t really do much during my free ti.”
At this point, Yao Xin looked a little lancholic and she continued, “At that ti, I was entirely focused on studying and when I was waiting to be admitted to college, I decided to take charge of my own life for once. I was lucky enough to have been able to act in the web drama series during my freshman year in college and I’m really glad to have the honor of being labeled as ‘Little Yan Jinyi’.”
Yan Jinyi scoffed. ‘What a hypocrite.’
Everyone present knew that Yao Xin was just putting on an act but no one exposed her.
The host directed the focus onto Yan Jinyi again. “Jinyi, are you afraid that Yao Xin might outshine you?”
The hosts and guests of this program were known to be shrewd and sharp-tongued. Hence, their straightforward questions and approach would often attract the attention of the audience.
Yao Xin’s manager had already communicated with the host and guests of the variety show beforehand. Yan Jinyi could also tell that they were nitpicking on her.
‘Do they think I’m a pushover?’
Yan Jinyi pressed her lips together and looked down while grazing her fingers against her fingertips, pretending not to hear them.
The host felt a little awkward and thus repeated his question. Yan Jinyi finally raised her head slowly to look at the cara. “I’m , I’m unique.”
