"It's kind of cold and dark. Heard what happened with Becky, right? You really shouldn't drive ho this late," Josh said, glancing around his neighborhood.
"I feel horrible for her but the thing is I saw this coming. There's only so much you can say as a journalist without stepping on soone's toes. I'll be frank, her recent antics annoyed too. But as for sleeping over.."
"Thing is...I didn't co with a change of clothes," Tessa said, a note of uncertainty in her voice.
"Since when did that beco an issue? You always wore mine" Josh replied with a teasing grin.
Tessa hesitated for a mont, then suggested, "Well, how about we head to my place instead? I've got so beer in the fridge I haven't touched in a while."
A smile tugged at the corners of Josh's lips. "Sounds like a plan."
As they climbed into Tessa's Mustang, a comfortable silence settled between them, broken only by the soft hum of the engine and the gentle rush of the wind outside.
The drive to Tessa's apartnt was a short one, but it felt like an eternity to Tessa, the anticipation of what awaited them at her humble abode making her pulse quicken with each passing mont.
When they arrived, Tessa led Josh up the stairs to her apartnt, her heart fluttering in her chest as she unlocked the door and stepped inside.
The apartnt was small but cozy, tastefully furnished with simple yet elegant decor. The living room boasted a plush sofa and a large flat-screen TV, while the kitchen was neat and well-equipped, with a small dining table tucked into one corner.
Tessa tossed her keys onto the coffee table and turned to face Josh, a nervous smile playing on her lips. "Make yourself at ho," she said, gesturing towards the sofa. "I'll grab us so drinks."
As she disappeared into the kitchen, Tessa couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitent in the pit of her stomach. Tonight felt different sohow, charged with an energy she couldn't quite define.
But as she returned to the living room with two cold beers in hand, she pushed aside her doubts and focused on the present mont, determined to savor every second of this unexpected evening with Josh by her side.
Tessa ordered a pizza from a popular restaurant nearby. She asked Josh about the toppings they wanted and what size they wanted. Since it was just going to be the two of them, they ca to a simple large pizza, half plain and half mushroom.
Since it was just going to be a casual get together, Josh was wearing a baggy jeans and a t-shirt with his favorite football team's logo on it.
It took them so ti to find a movie on Netflix that they would both agree on. Eventually, they settle on the movie "Arican Pie." They both thought it was a classic 90's cody about high school boys obsessed with trying to get laid and the hijinks they get into throughout the film.
Tessa joked that at least he got to finally see a naked woman tonight during the webcam scene. It was an all-ti classic nude scene that Josh absolutely loved.
They laughed throughout the film and made jokes about the classic 90's stuff that was shown. Then ca the webcam scene, where the character Nada, a foreign exchange student, got undressed when she thinks she has so privacy but unknowingly is being watched by a webcam.
"This scene would never be made now," said Tessa
"The nudity, or the spying on a naked woman?" Josh asked.
"There will always be nudity in movies, but nobody would make a scene that suggests it would be OK to spy on an unassuming woman getting undressed."
"At least those won want to be looked at naked. There's a whole privacy issue going on in this scene that violates several laws."
"It's still a fun scene, though," said Josh.
"Definitely, I still enjoy this a lot," said Tessa "And everything that happens to the Jim character is cody gold. I'm just saying in today's culture, this scene would never be made."
Josh always enjoyed the rapport that he and Tessa had. No matter what the subject may be, they always have a way of making a fun conversation out of it. One of the reasons he used to ask her out was because of how well they always got along with each other.
They enjoyed the rest of the movie. By then they had finished the whole pizza but still had plenty of beer between them. Tessa decided to order for another one. Turned out they underestimated their own appetite.
"That was fun," said Josh. "Do you want to watch another movie?"
"Sure, what do you want to watch?"
There was so back and forth on so suggestions for the next movie. They both thought it was a good idea to watch another Arican Pie movie, either the mainstream ones or the straight-to-video ones. Then there was so discussion about other films to watch, or a cody special, or even a few episodes of a TV show on Netflix they could binge.
They spent the next thirty to forty minutes having not decided on a movie yet. They ran through mories in college and were genuinely engrossed in the conversation.
"Damn, there are so many good things to watch here," said Josh.
"And they just keep on adding more and more stuff to watch," said Tessa
"It's a surprise anybody leaves the house anymore."
They went back to scrolling through all the options on the TV and just then the doorbell rang, announcing the arrival of their pizza. Tessa rushed to grab the box, eager to dig into the cheesy goodness as they were about to start the film.
"Alright, how about we add a little fun to our movie night?" Josh suggested, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
Tessa raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? What..." She said in between bites of the fresh warm pizza ..." have you got in mind?"
"I was thinking we could watch 'IT' next," Josh proposed, a hint of excitent in his voice.
Tessa chuckled. "You know I've seen that movie a hundred tis, right? Wouldn't be fun for .Although, there's sothing we could do to make it much more fun. How about this, we'll watch it on one condition."
Josh's curiosity piqued. "And what's the condition?"
Tessa's grin widened. "Whenever a balloon, a red balloon shows up, we'll pull one item of our clothes off."
