Chapter 216 — THE DRAGON’S TRUE FORM
The sky above the city had beco a battlefield carved out of storms.
Erald light churned through the clouds like a living aurora, twisting and spiraling outward from the Jade Dragon’s enormous body. Each slow beat of its wings disturbed the air across miles of skyline, stirring broken clouds and spreading shockwaves that rattled the remaining towers below.
Fires burned across several districts now.
Black smoke rose through shattered streets where buildings had collapsed earlier under the dragon’s expanding power. Ergency sirens still scread across the city, but they sounded smaller now—drowned beneath the vast storm raging in the heavens.
High above it all, Long Hao hovered.
His chest rose and fell slowly as he steadied his breathing. The void energy surrounding him had grown darker since the last exchange, curling around his body like the shadow of sothing enormous waiting beneath the surface.
Across from him, the Jade Dragon studied him.
Its erald eyes glowed brighter with every passing second.
"You continue."
Long Hao wiped a thin line of blood from the corner of his mouth.
"Still here."
The dragon tilted its massive head slightly.
"You weaken."
Long Hao cracked his neck slowly.
"Yeah."
"I noticed."
The Jade Dragon’s wings spread wider.
Erald light surged across the sky.
"But your resistance remains irrelevant."
Then the dragon moved.
It surged forward through the air with terrifying speed.
Its claw descended toward Long Hao like a collapsing mountain.
Long Hao raised both arms.
Void energy surged.
"Void Breaker!"
The two forces collided.
The sky exploded.
A thunderous shockwave rolled across the clouds, blasting apart several helicopters still circling far below.
But the dragon did not stop.
Its claw pushed through the void energy barrier.
The impact slamd into Long Hao’s guard.
He was driven backward across the sky like a bullet fired from a cannon.
He smashed through the upper floors of a glass tower, shattering windows and collapsing concrete floors before bursting out the opposite side.
The Jade Dragon followed.
The massive creature dove straight through the broken building.
Steel beams twisted around its body.
Concrete walls crumbled beneath its weight.
"You fall."
Long Hao kicked off a collapsing wall and shot upward through the air.
"Still flying."
He launched forward again.
His fist slamd into the dragon’s neck.
"Eclipse Impact!"
The strike cracked several erald scales instantly.
Crystal fragnts scattered through the air like green shards of glass.
The dragon recoiled slightly.
But only slightly.
Then its tail moved.
The strike slamd into Long Hao’s side.
The impact hurled him across the sky again.
He tumbled through a cluster of clouds before stabilizing himself.
Below them, Han cursed.
"That one definitely hurt."
Nyx watched carefully.
"The dragon is escalating."
Above them, the Jade Dragon hovered again.
Its erald aura expanded further.
"You persist."
Its voice echoed across the sky.
"But you remain incomplete."
Long Hao wiped another line of blood from his lip.
"You keep saying that."
The dragon inhaled slowly.
Erald light surged across its scales.
"Because it remains true."
Then sothing changed.
The erald glow beneath the dragon’s armor intensified.
Brighter.
And brighter.
The creature’s entire body began radiating power.
Below them, Kovács froze as her sensors exploded with readings.
Her voice burst through the comm channel.
"Energy spike!"
Han frowned.
"What kind?"
Her answer ca a second later.
"...Transformation."
Above them, the Jade Dragon roared.
The sound cracked the sky.
Erald lightning erupted across the clouds as the creature’s body began changing.
The scales along its spine split apart.
Jagged ridges of crystalline jade erupted upward like mountain peaks breaking through the earth.
The dragon’s wings expanded.
Their edges sharpened into massive blade-like extensions of crystal.
Its horns lengthened, curving backward like enormous erald scythes.
The air pressure around it intensified until the clouds themselves began collapsing inward.
Long Hao stared.
"...Well."
"That looks worse."
The dragon’s voice echoed again.
"You forced evolution."
The erald aura surged outward.
The city below trembled as gravity itself seed to bend beneath the dragon’s growing power.
"This is my true form."
The Jade Dragon spread its wings.
Its body now looked even larger than before.
More armored.
More monstrous.
And far more powerful.
Below them, the Eight stared in stunned silence.
Han blinked slowly.
"...Oh co on."
Feng Yanrui frowned.
"That’s not good."
Nyx spoke quietly.
"The dragon was holding back."
Above them, Long Hao watched the transformation finish.
The Jade Dragon lowered its massive head.
"You see the difference now."
Long Hao sighed.
"Yeah."
"I see it."
The dragon lunged.
Faster than before.
Its claw tore through the air with terrifying speed.
Long Hao blocked.
But this ti—
The impact sent him crashing through the clouds again.
The dragon followed imdiately.
Its tail lashed across the sky.
Long Hao barely dodged.
The creature’s wing struck next.
The blow clipped his shoulder and sent him tumbling again.
The difference was obvious now.
The dragon had grown stronger.
Much stronger.
Below them, Han clenched his fists.
"He can’t keep up."
Nyx nodded.
"The balance has shifted."
Above them, the Jade Dragon continued its assault.
Claw.
Wing.
Tail.
Each attack ca faster than the last.
Long Hao dodged two strikes.
Blocked a third.
But the fourth slamd into his chest.
The impact launched him across the sky like a rag doll.
He crashed into the roof of a burning office tower and slid across the broken concrete before pushing himself up again.
The Jade Dragon hovered above him.
"You see."
Its voice carried quiet certainty.
"You cannot win."
Long Hao exhaled slowly.
He looked down at the city.
Fires burning across the streets.
Ergency vehicles struggling through collapsed intersections.
Helicopters evacuating the wounded.
Then he looked back up at the dragon.
"Yeah."
"I see it."
The dragon’s erald eyes burned brighter.
"Then surrender."
Long Hao cracked his knuckles.
"That’s not really my style."
The Jade Dragon roared again.
The sky trembled beneath the sound.
"Then perish."
It lunged.
Long Hao raised his fists again.
Void energy surged around him like a gathering eclipse.
But deep inside—
He felt the truth.
The dragon was right.
This wasn’t enough.
Sothing inside him was still missing.
Still incomplete.
The voice inside his mind spoke again.
"...You finally feel it."
Long Hao whispered.
"Yeah."
The voice answered quietly.
"...Then we’re ready."
Above him—
The Jade Dragon descended like a falling mountain.
And the battle reached its breaking point.
