Workaround

"Surprisingly, human." Christopher's excitent was montarily held back as he observed the being below him.

They were naked and had skin so pale it might as well have been unhealthy. Their face was sowhat unremarkable. That didn't an it wasn't attractive, as the stoner one beca, the more attractive they would be. But this face wasn't all that.

Christopher observed the man closely. For a mont, he thought he was of the sa race as Azure, but he quickly dismissed that theory.

"Yeah, no, this guy is human." He confird after checking a few things and stood up.

His punch from earlier broke his nose, but the real damage was worse than that. His blow turned his brain into mush.

As for how Christopher turned the guy corporeal, it was pretty simple... in theory.

If what he needed to do to prevent himself from getting erased was to strengthen his fate, then he simply created a fate for the entity to ground it into reality.

It sounded simple on paper, but it was far more complicated than that.

One needs to rember that a single strand of fate was interconnected with an unbelievably vast and expansive web, interacting with all sorts of people and scenarios.

Christopher sohow managed to create and bind the entity to a thread that had a life's worth of fate within it, all to allow himself to kill the person who was the entity.

When he could have just used Annihilation Insight to see its weakness and kill it.

Still, Christopher was confused.

Why was it a human? How had the person even beco such an entity in the first place? And why?

'Hm...' A faint hum from Norn drew his attention.

'Any ideas?' He asked as the blizzard filled in the space from before.

'We've ascertained that there were attempts to cross the blizzard in the past, yes? What if this person was a previous participant who died and sohow got assimilated into the blizzard as an entity that doesn't exist but also only exists within the blizzard? If that makes sense.' She presented her theory, and Christopher tilted his head.

'It sounds solid, but there's too little information to be sure.' He tried to rub his chin, but his mask was in the way. He really needed to stop doing that.

"Well, let's keep at it." Christopher smiled. His excitent hadn't subsided, so he was still as active as before.

Moreover, there were a lot more entities that were starting to converge on his position.

The fact remained that he wasn't able to sense them without them entering his sight directly. Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire

'But that adds to the fun, doesn't it?' He thought with a grin as he brandished Scarlet and Norn and imdiately got to work.

"Scary," Raya mumbled as she looked ahead.

The massive blizzard scread oppression, and anyone who looked at it would imdiately be hit with a wave of hopelessness. Outrunning it wasn't viable, and defending against it was a pipe dream.

Despite this, though, none of the soldiers seed particularly perturbed by its presence.

In fact, soldiers were still moving around and doing their tasks like the Blizzard wasn't there. It was as though none of them was worried. Which was true.

"How is the formation going?" Titus asked, and Raya just shrugged. Then, as if on cue, a large shadow descended, and Tristan perched on the wall next to them.

"All done." The dragon spoke in a cheerful tone that did not at all fit its massive and terrifying visage.

Titus nodded when he heard this.

When the news that the blizzard was approaching was relayed to him. He decided that he wouldn't simply sit back and watch his elder disciples do all the hard work. So he decided to get involved as well.

To be honest, there was a pretty simple solution everyone from the cohort, including Aisha, who always told Christopher that he used to overthink things, overlooked.

Simply put, Titus knew that there was absolutely nothing he or anyone in the base besides Umbra could do to resist existence erasure. It was simply too big of an issue for anyone to handle at their level.

Even if they ca together, he doubted they could resist the onslaught of the blizzard for more than a few minutes.

That's why Titus thought of a pretty easy fix.

Simply put, each individual fortress was a treasure that couldn't be compared to. Each of them had been created by him personally, and they all possessed functions that were on another level.

Titus was the leader of the stronghold, below Umbra, that is, and with the authority he had, he could make use of various functions of the stronghold remotely. To use these functions, he needed to know what they actually were.

Yeah, as it turned out, there were nearly a hundred. Half of which he didn't have access to because his authority was too low!

People considered Titus to have so of the greatest authority within the Primordial Expanse simply due to his position as the disciple of Christopher, and they weren't wrong.

However, Christopher restricted his authority simply because Titus had no reason to use all the functions the fortress offered. He intended to use the fortresses far beyond this expedition in the hidden realm.

Rember, each fortress is a direct construct from the Primordial Expanse, ones Christopher made personally. The sa Primordial Expanse which contains materials that are valuable enough to cause wars across galaxies and more.

There's no way Christopher wouldn't make them durable enough to defend against things like existence erasure, which was why he wasn't all that worried when he heard what the issue was that Aisha brought up.

The only thing was that, as ntioned before, Titus and the other fortress commanders didn't have enough authority to access the more powerful uses of the fortress, so Christopher was a bit worried. But he rembered that each fortress also had a failsafe in case things went wrong.

Also, he said said it himself. If things got too bad, his Void clone would handle it.

Titus didn't know though though. As such he implented his idea.

The idea was simple. The fortress already had a powerful defensive function, though it wasn't enough to handle the strength of the blizzard, and Titus knew this.

So he ca up with a simple fix. Well, not simple, but a reliable fix.

The theory was simple.

Basically, as Eidrasil explained, she's pretty much the embodint of life within the Primordial Expanse, you need to be alive to exist, so her presence greatly helped with resisting the terror of the blizzard.

However, that still wouldn't be enough. So Titus decided to have himself and his soldiers do sothing interesting.

Essentially, they were going to link the barrier with the tree and enhance the effects of both.

To add to this, they would create a direct channel to the Primordial Expanse and have it feed its energy into this new barrier, essentially supercharging it. Titus didn't need to worry about the barrier getting overloaded since again, it was capable of far more, it was made to handle such an influx of energy.

However, while the theory was simple, doing all of this was quite the hassle.

Thankfully, they had Tristan, and Dragons were naturally receptive to energy and its uses, so the process went by a lot faster than it normally would have. Moreover, Titus had Veylthar guiding him, so they made no mistakes when creating the formation.

"Okay, here goes." Titus exhaled and closed his eyes and allowed himself to beco in tune with the fortress.

Hrs briefly beca aware of the nurous locked options but ignored them as soon as he saw them.

Then he shifted his focus to the new feature that had been created and sighed.

In his mind's eyes, there was a large pillar with many layers. Each layer represented a different feature, and at a certain level, they were grayed out and he couldn't access them.

Each layer was an incredibly complex and vibrant magic circle that had been created with beautiful precision.

In comparison, the feature he and his soldiers ca together to create looked like a cheap copy and was nowhere near as expertly made as the ones his master had created.

But Titus wasn't discouraged, he had long accepted the fact that Christopher was a being he couldn't fully comprehend, and trying to compare his actions with his was an easy way of getting discouraged.

As such, he turned his attention from the various functions and focused on the newly added features, and without hesitating, he activated it.

The mont he did, the fortress shook, and then all of a sudden, the stable life energy coming off from the tree suddenly erupted outwards and filled the entire fortress.

The air beca a thick, vibrant green, and for a mont, everyone was stunned by the sheer vitality that filled the fortress.

It didn't end there though as a massive do appeared around the fortress. And slowly, the do started to mix with the life energy.
