Chapter 607: Chapter 95: The Underworld Without Roots (Part 8)

Severe tremors traveled from the distant north to the Underworld City, the sturdy royal city swayed on the verge of collapse, crying out in distress as if it could no longer bear the burden.

The group of ruling officials erged from their palaces, loudly rebuking the Netherworld ministers, “Stir the magic power to fortify the city’s defenses, the earthquake will pass soon!”

“Lord Qunhui, what on earth has happened?” At this mont, nurous clan leaders of the Netherworld families eagerly voiced their queries.

Qunhui looked up at the distant sky and said softly, “The Netherworld God… has awakened!”

The Netherworld God has awakened?!

At once, the clan leaders of the Netherworld families collapsed to the ground, weakened. The Netherworld God’s reputation in the Netherworld was actually not good, marked by authoritarian politics, dictatorship rule—these labels were deeply etched in the hearts of all Netherworld beings.

Compared to the tis when the Netherworld God was active, they preferred the days when the Netherworld God lay dormant.

At this ti, the ritual priests ca to Qunhui’s side and sighed softly, “Are you certain your plan is foolproof?”

“Not certain,” Qunhui shook his head. “Who can be sure of the Netherworld God’s condition?”

“Let’s go, we must still pay our respects.”

“Mhm,” Qunhui nodded, and together with the ritual priests, with a mix of trepidation in their hearts, they sped towards the direction of the Hades Palace.

The Chief Judge ca up to the Warden with a smile, “You seem to have been played by Qunhui?”

On hearing this, Salron’s face changed slightly, “Nonsense, the Netherworld God’s revival will certainly result in a massive invasion of the Star Sea, there can be no mistake in this matter.”

“But what if the Netherworld God is unwilling to invade the Star Sea?” the Chief Judge spoke up. “I seem to have grasped a hint of Qunhui’s plan.”

“What do you an?” Salron turned to ask.

“Forget it, now that the Netherworld God has revived, we will know the outco soon enough.”

Having said this, the Chief Judge rose and departed, Salron followed behind with a stiff expression and a sense of helplessness.

The gaze returned to the Hades Palace. Under the control of the Netherworld God, the massive palace slowly rose to the surface, its ascent still unstoppable, continuing to climb and float up into the sky.

The Netherworld God stood proudly in the center of the palace, looking down upon the Netherworld Continent from ten thousand ters above, the corners of his mouth revealing a sinister smile, “I am back!”

“I am back!”

After a seemingly endless slumber, the Netherworld God openly unleashed his power, as if declaring his return to the entire Netherworld.

Endless black divine power rippled out from within him, carrying horrific wails, continually surging towards the distance.

At the sa ti, four figures landed before the Netherworld God, bowing in homage.

“Your servant Qunhui!”

“Your servant Bodo!”

“Your servant Mo Lun!”

“Your servant Salron!”

“Greetings to Your Majesty, the Netherworld God!”

The Netherworld God casually swept his gaze over the four of them and spoke, “You may rise.”

“Thank you for Your Majesty’s grace!”

The four rulers of the Netherworld straightened up, standing on both sides of the Netherworld God, eyes lowered, daring not to gaze at the Netherworld God’s stunning visage.

“Qunhui.”

On hearing the Netherworld God’s call, Qunhui hurriedly took a step forward, “Your Majesty, your servant is here!”

“How has the Netherworld fared in these years?”

“Reporting to Your Majesty, the Netherworld’s beings have flourished, with billions capable of becoming soldiers to wage war across the Star Sea, conquering all the heavens for Your Majesty!”

“Hm,” the Netherworld God nodded, very satisfied with Qunhui’s response, then turned to question the ritual priest, “Mo Lun.”

“Your servant is here!”

“Why do I not see the gods of the Netherworld coming to pay their respects?”

“This…” Mo Lun did not speak directly.

Seeing the other party’s hesitation, the Netherworld God imdiately snarled, “Speak!”

Thunder exploded beside his ear, and Mo Lun felt a surge of blood rush to his throat.

Suppressing the blood in his heart, Mo Lun quickly said, “The Heavenly Gods of the Netherworld Continent are currently waging war in the Star Sea for Your Majesty, and thus cannot return.”

“Is that so?” The Netherworld God sounded sowhat disbelieving. She had awakened from her slumber and not a single one of her subordinate gods had co to pay their respects. This made her a bit angry, considering whether she should just kill them all.

At this mont, Saron mustered the courage to step forward and said, “Your Majesty, to welco Your return, Lord Bodo and I have specifically invaded the current Human Race kingdoms. They will soon be completely conquered. At that ti, you can take control of the Star Sea in one fell swoop and complete your forr domination!”

“Good, very good!” The Netherworld God nodded in satisfaction, then asked with curiosity, “Is the Star Sea that weak now?”

“Yes, extrely weak. There are almost no traces of Heavenly Gods, and even demigods are extrely rare among the Human Race kingdoms. They can be easily conquered.”

“So weak?” The Netherworld God scoffed, “Then where did those Human Race gods go? Where are they now?”

“Reporting to Your Majesty, I… I do not know.”

“Waste!” The Netherworld God looked at Saron with disgust.

“Your Majesty!” Qunhui stepped forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with Saron, and bowed, saying, “The current Human Race power in the Star Sea is called the Sacred Empire. It was a dynasty jointly established by the forr Human Race Heavenly Gods. I do not know if it has any special heritage.”

Qunhui’s words were abrupt, but they sounded particularly grating to Saron.

“Holy Divine Empire?” The Netherworld God’s brow furrowed slightly, and for so reason, from the bottom of her heart, she felt resistance, a reluctance to see this human dynasty destroyed.

As this thought arose, it was sowhat difficult to suppress. The Netherworld God’s mood fluctuated, and she waved her hand irritably, “Withdraw all the troops. Without my consent, no further attacks on the Sacred Empire are allowed!”

“Your Majesty!”

Hearing this, Saron would not accept it, as the invasion against the Sacred Empire was where he had spent the most effort. To say to give up now was not sothing Saron was willing to do.

“Hmm?” The Netherworld God’s brows furrowed slightly as she said, “Are you questioning my decision, Saron?”

The threat of death, like an invisible claw, gripped his heart.

Saron felt that if he said one wrong word, he would be rcilessly killed by the Netherworld God. So he quickly said, “Your will is my command, Your Majesty. Withdraw the troops, imdiately!”

“Hmph!” The Netherworld God waved her sleeve and said to the sacrificial priest, “Send the ssage at once, summon back all the gods of the Netherworld. If any do not return within seven days, I will personally go looking for them!”

Having said that, the Netherworld God strode off towards the Netherworld Royal City.

As the Netherworld God left, the once four masters of the Netherworld finally exhaled in relief. Speaking to the Netherworld God was no easy affair; one could be killed on the spot with hardly any further discussion.

“Qunhui!” Saron glared at him furiously, “You lied to !”

Qunhui shrugged his shoulders, “I wasn’t very clear either. Who knew that a Soul Split could actually affect the consciousness of the original being.”

“Just wait, one day I will make you pay!” Saron roared, wishing he could flay his opponent alive.

Qunhui didn’t care about the threats at all. Now that the Netherworld God had revived, the life and death of all living beings in the Netherworld were in her hands. If Saron acted rashly against him, the Netherworld God would surely punish him, and Saron could not bear that burden!

However, as the four were all ministers who frequently saw each other, Qunhui didn’t want to sour the relationship too badly, and pointing to the palace beneath their feet, he said, “Look, that human is still alive. I’m giving him to you as reparations.”

“Hmph!”

Clearly, this gesture was enough to appease Saron’s anger to so extent, and he did not refuse. After all, a prisoner with strong regenerative abilities was sothing he could enjoy for a long ti.

The Grand Judge’s mouth curled into a smile, and he left first.

He now completely understood this ga. Qunhui had played everyone, including the sacrificial priest Mo Lun.

Among the Netherworld, those least willing to see the Netherworld God’s resurrection were definitely the other gods. With the Netherworld asleep, they had ruled the Netherworld without law. Now that the Netherworld God had awakened, they fled the Netherworld, not daring to return.

As for the four masters, the one least willing to see the Netherworld God wake up was probably the sacrificial priest Mo Lun, but he was powerless to stop it. Therefore, he had allied with Qunhui to oppose Bodo and Saron, thereby delaying the fulfillnt of the prophecy and the resurrection of the Netherworld God.

But Qunhui had deceived Mo Lun. His real goal was to resurrect the Netherworld God, not as the invincible being intent on conquering the Star Sea, but rather by using a split of the Divine Soul to replace the main personality, resurrecting a different Netherworld God.

Saron had fallen right into Qunhui’s trap, providing him with trendous help to complete his plan.

Yet in the end, Saron, who had given much, received no rewards. Instead, he suffered huge losses in the battles of the Star Sea.

“Qunhui… what exactly do you want to do?” The Grand Judge murmured in a low voice, wanting to have control over the Netherworld God? Was that possible? Or could it be… you Qunhui have plans to replace the Netherworld God…
