Chapter 578: Chapter 66: Heading to the Northern Border
Since the Beastman Empire had seized the Abyss of Extre Demons, the Snowy Region and the Holy Divine Empire had organized nurous forceful strikes to reclaim it. Although they had failed, they successfully cut off the Beastman Empire’s supply lines and trapped the million-strong beastman army within, soon to launch a final assault and re-seal the Abyss of Extre Demons.
Konstantin only gave Lu Hong a general idea of the strategic direction, the details of which Lu Hong did not care about nor wished to bother himself with.
“You, the Divine Might Duke, have returned now. Won’t you consider doing sothing more for the people?”
“I plan to assist Di Ti in dealing with the beast tide first. I will not consider getting involved in the war between humans and beastn for the ti being.” The reason might still be due to the blood flowing within him; unless absolutely necessary, Lu Hong did not want to make a move against the Beastman Empire.
Konstantin nodded, “Understood, but compared to the beast tide, I wish you would go to another place for .”
“Where?” Lu Hong ca over this ti not only to inquire about so friends and his beloved’s well-being but also to find sothing to do. Being back at Star Sea for the first ti, he was utterly uninford about many things. It would be more appropriate for Konstantin to arrange tasks for him.
“The three towns in the northern border controlled by Questasa,” Konstantin said gravely. “Questasa’s control over those three planes must be deliberate. Those planes were always troubleso; the Black Guards had often mysteriously disappeared there. The officials I sent had all perished, none surviving under Bo’an’s rule for three months, which puzzles greatly. I suspect Bo’an Earl and the other two earls of treason.”
“Defected to the Beastman Empire?”
Konstantin shook his head, “No, defected to the Netherworld!”
Lu Hong was taken aback, then nodded solemnly, “I will investigate thoroughly.”
“If it is indeed the Netherworld’s forces, I would like you to eradicate them completely for , leaving no hidden danger.” With that, Konstantin handed Lu Hong a prepared seal, “With this, you may mobilize the secret forces of the Liu Family’s Great Army lurking in the Eastern Triumph Plane near the three towns.”
“The Liu Family of Eastern Triumph?”
“Yes, they will fully cooperate with your actions.”
Well, it seems Konstantin had everything arranged for him, just waiting for him to walk into the trap.
“Fine, when do I depart?”
“The sooner, the better. The plan to counterattack the Abyss of Extre Demons is about to be implented. I do not want any accidents during this period. Although the Beastman Empire has not started a war in the past few days, their military maneuvers have been very clear. They will soon concentrate their forces in an attempt to reopen the passage to the Abyss of Extre Demons and take control of the situation.”

Upon exiting the door, Zheke greeted him.

“I’m not into this sort of thing, get up quickly.”
Helping Zheke to his feet, Lu Hong asked, “With Questasa betraying the Black Guards, who is in charge now?”
“Reporting to the Duke, I am now acting in full authority for the Black Guards.”
“Wow, you’ve been doing quite well for yourself,” Lu Hong patted Zheke’s shoulder. From the contact, he perceived that Zheke seed to have also reached the Third Transition, making such progress in less than ten years—a prodigy indeed.
“Thanks to your blessing, sir.” Zheke led Lu Hong through the teleportation gate, arriving once again at the Undying Throne.
This ti, the Undying Throne was no longer empty. The vast fortress was crowded with the soldiers of the Empire, all set to be deployed in the forceful assault on the Abyss of Extre Demons.
Lu Hong wondered how these soldiers had learned of his arrival. They flocked to the front of the teleportation gate.
No sooner had Lu Hong stepped out of the spatial rift than he heard the shouts of countless soldiers.
“We greet the Divine Might Duke!”
Lu Hong looked around, then turned his head to Zheke and asked, “Your idea?”
Philosopher shook his head, “Your Majesty, the order for you to head to the northern border town of Bo’an was issued yesterday. These soldiers were probably waiting at the teleportation gate early on, hoping to catch a glimpse of your grandeur.”
Grandeur my ass, Lu Hong muttered quietly to himself. Then, facing many soldiers, he said, “Gentlen, I, Lu Hong… am with you!”
No need for flowery language, the two words ‘am with’ were enough to express Lu Hong’s firm stance and determination.
Tears welled up in the eyes of countless soldiers. This aggressive attack on the Extre Magic Abyss was almost a certain death sentence. They were going to face a ferocious Beastman army, a horde that had bathed in the aura of the abyss and undergone unprecedented strengthening. No one harbored any hope of surviving this battle. So, what were they putting their lives on the line to defend?
It was the spirit of the Human Race, the future of the Human Race.
“We are willing to stand with the Duke!”
Lu Hong carefully scanned the faces that appeared before him, many of them unfamiliar. Perhaps he would never have the chance to see these people again. The war… could it really never end?
Gradually, Lu Hong harbored a wish deep within his heart—to put an end to all the wars under this starry sky and spread peace to all of humanity!
After saying farewell to the soldiers seated on the throne, Lu Hong went through three long-distance teleports and reached the first of the three towns of Bo’an.
The three towns of Bo’an did not refer to three actual towns but to an alliance of several counties headed by the Marquis of Bo’an. These three planes were almost entirely under the control of the Marquis of Bo’an in earlier years and were humorously referred to as the three towns of Bo’an by those in the northern territories.
The first town was an important base established by the organization of Questasa and also served as a gateway to recruit new mbers; it was the only place that had opened a teleportation channel to the outside world.
Philosopher originally wanted to accompany Lu Hong on his journey, but was stopped by him.
Stepping out of the teleportation gate and into the first town, Lu Hong was imdiately intercepted by soldiers dressed in blood-colored armor.
“Are you here to enlist in the Blood-colored Divine Might Army?”
“The Blood-colored Divine Might Army?”
“Uh?” Seeing that Lu Hong didn’t even recognize the na, the soldier confird he wasn’t here to enlist and said, “If you’re not here to join the army, the first town does not welco you. Please return the way you ca. We will open the teleportation gate for you free of charge.”
“So, if I’m not enlisting, I can’t enter the first town?”
“Yes,” the soldier nodded. “Lord Han has ordered that during this critical period, we must ensure the security of the three towns.”
As he spoke, the soldier gestured to the Mage beside him to reverse the teleportation. “Tell , where do you co from? If you don’t have spatial coordinates, we can only help you teleport to the closest Three Trees Plane.”
Lu Hong looked at the soldier in front of him. There was no arrogance in his posture, nor any pretense of humility. It seed that Questasa had done a very good job of disciplining their military.
“But what if I don’t want to leave? Officer, is there any way I could stay?”
The soldier stared at Lu Hong for a long while, feeling a vague sense of familiarity but unable to recall where he had seen him before. Finally, he said, “I can’t make that decision, but I can take you to Lord Han.”
Upon hearing this, Lu Hong shook his head, “I don’t want to see Lord Han; I only wish to see Questasa.”
“How audacious!”
At this remark, a group of soldiers imdiately scolded, “Who gave you the courage to utter the na of Questasa so casually!”
“And do you know who I am?” Lu Hong said with a faint smile, pointing his hand towards the towering statue on the right.
“I care…” The soldier followed the direction Lu Hong pointed in, and all words halted on his lips. The man before him was the spitting image of the male figure sculpted above.
“Di… Duke Divine Might?!”
“Have Questasa co see imdiately.”
The ssage spread swiftly. In less than an hour, Questasa personally rushed over. He was surrounded by fans who were wildly enthusiastic, and he brought Lu Hong into the City Lord Mansion.
Hardly having settled onto the bench, Lu Hong complained to Questasa, “Tell , Old Questasa, what the hell are you up to? Using my na to raise an army—are you planning a rebellion?”
Questasa smiled wryly, then passed a cup of tea to Lu Hong before saying, “Master, don’t be hasty; let explain first.”
“Make it quick, I have serious matters to attend to.” Lu Hong put down the cup of tea, his expression calm, but with a hint of anger in his heart.
