Though it was just resources unused by the Hell Demon Clan, they have tons, such as all the cultivation resources needed by the Human Race, which they don’t use. Their core is souls, and the Human Race rarely practices soul cultivation. Therefore, they say it’s unused resources, but it effectively ans giving away all available resources for the Human Race in the Eight Desolate Heavens.
Regarding Hedel’s proposed compensation, Lu Hong certainly didn’t refuse, but he’d first need to find the Eighteen Realms exiled into the void and lead the Human Race out of the prison.
