101: Chapter 99: The Great Wilderness Battle Royale (Part 4) 101: Chapter 99: The Great Wilderness Battle Royale (Part 4) “What’s happened?” Sa Re turned his forces around from the very front of the manhunt and headed back, the soldiers surrounding the scene quickly clearing a path.
Before he even got close, Sa Re slled the thick stench of blood, and as he slowly approached, the sight of hundreds of mutilated corpses and severed limbs was nauseating.
Of course, scenes like this were commonplace on the wasteland plane, so it didn’t evoke much of a reaction from them.
“Earl, by the ti we arrived, the Demon Beasts were already feasting on their bodies,” one of Sa Re’s senior subordinates hurried over and reported the situation: “So far, we’ve discovered that these soldiers all died at the hands of the sa person, we’re just not sure if it’s the kid we’re pursuing.”
“Of course it’s not!” Sa Re frowned and rejected his subordinate’s conclusion outright, “How could that trash, who hasn’t even reached the Second Transition, possibly kill so many of my n?
They must have encountered the strong warrior recently recognized by the Heavenly God and spoken out of turn, provoking their own death.”
Sa Re didn’t believe for a second that Lu Hong had such strength, so he imdiately attributed the incident to the mysterious strong warrior who had just been acknowledged by the Heavenly God: “Listen up, everyone, when hunting down that kid, if you encounter anyone else in the forest, you must treat them with caution, and certainly do not provoke them heedlessly, for they are a warrior recognized by the Heavenly God!”
After laying out his orders, Sa Re continued to lead his n through the forest in search of Lu Hong.
anwhile, Lu Hong had already been lying in wait, hidden in the shadows, preparing to capture Sa Re’s group all at once!
“It was you who hunted before, now it’s ti for the roles of hunter and prey to switch!” Lu Hong stood on the branch of a giant tree and slowly clenched his fist, his vital blood energy circulating throughout his body with his control.
Having reached the Second Transition, Lu Hong could now truly stand on the world stage.
Whether on the Continent of God’s Grace or other planes, the most common were those of Second Transition careers.
The leap from First to Second Transition wasn’t just an increase in strength; it also unlocked the right to use Magic artifacts.
That was why Lu Hong hadn’t been able to harness the power of the Holy Sword before; when you reach Second Transition, your inner power is upgraded, granting you control over external objects.
If Lu Hong’s previous Darkblood Demon Sword had not been destroyed, it would surely have been a perfect weapon for him now.
Even just its passive ‘Blood Draining’ Skill was enough to give Lu Hong a huge advantage in prolonged combat.
Lu Hong put away the Blood Holy Sword.
After killing more than a hundred soldiers who had surrounded him, Lu Hong had been studying the Saint Sword in his hands.
From what he could tell now, he could activate the two Skills inherent to the Sword.
The first was an active Skill, Blood Wander, allowing the Holy Sword to transform into any weapon shape.
Of course, this active Skill was useless to Lu Hong.
He was already a swordsman and didn’t need to transform it into other weapon forms – it would be at most for showing off.
The other passive Skill of the Blood Holy Sword was sothing Lu Hong praised highly.
The passive Skill, Blood Assimilation, allowed the Holy Sword to absorb and refine any blood it ca into contact with, turning it into vital energy to nourish its wielder.
This Skill served a similar function to Blood Draining but was many tis more effective.
Blood Draining could only draw in soone’s blood to increase the wielder’s physical endurance, while Blood Assimilation could replenish not only physical stamina but vital blood energy as well.
“An Angry Blood Warrior is always the ultimate killing machine on the battlefield!” Seeing a group of soldiers slowly searching towards his location, Lu Hong leaped down from the giant tree to confront them.
“Boss, soone’s ahead!” The team of soldiers, very astute, imdiately spotted Lu Hong and ford a battle array.
“I’m the one you’re looking for,” before the other side could even speak, Lu Hong took the initiative to reveal his identity.
“Kill!” Without further words, the opposition commanded their n to attack imdiately.
In an instant, Magic Skills rained down from the sky toward Lu Hong, who didn’t dodge, letting the Skills hit him.
“All close-quarters fighters, follow !” The leader of the hundred-man squad drew his weapon and, seeing that Lu Hong remained unhard even after being subrged in brilliant Magic, remained cautiously vigilant as he led his n slowly forward.
“Blood Burst!” Before they could get close, Lu Hong leaped up from the Magic’s fireworks display.
In his hands, the two Blood Holy Swords shone a bright red as he slamd them into the ground, instantly cracking the earth open.
Vital blood power burst forth in all directions like fountains from the depths of the earth.
“Holy Light Barrier!” The Knight, quick to react, imdiately activated a defensive Skill, but in front of Lu Hong’s power, the Holy Light’s protection was like paper, easily torn apart.
“Kill!” With a loud shout, Lu Hong plunged into the midst of the enemy, caught in confusion; he was like a crimson whirlwind, ruthlessly reaping the lives of Sa Re’s soldiers.
Wielding the Blood Holy Sword, Lu Hong, bolstered by his formidable strength, could slash through not only the soldiers’ weapons but also split their armor in two with a single blow.
“How is he so strong?!”
“Run for it!”
As the group of close-combat professionals fell into chaos, the Mages and archers watched in terror; this was nothing short of an unequal massacre!
“Trying to escape?” Lu Hong revved up the power within him and let out a roar that pierced the heavens, the Second Transition level 10 Skill “Blood Roar,” designed to intimidate enemies and rob them of their fighting capacity for three seconds.
A ring of blood light radiated from around Lu Hong, rapidly expanding outward.
Wherever it reached, everyone was frozen in place, utterly devoid of initiative.
“Kill!” Lu Hong dropped the unfinished group of close-combat foes and rushed towards the ranged professionals in a single leap, evidently finding the Mage professional to be particularly obnoxious.
Three minutes passed, and after scanning the area to confirm there were no survivors, Lu Hong quickly left to continue his search for Sa Re’s soldiers, opening a new chapter of slaughter.
“Earl, we’ve lost contact with three thousand n!” As night fell, one of Sa Re’s generals rushed into the makeshift tent to report, “I’ve just checked on the smaller squads; nearly twenty of them haven’t responded to !”
“What are you panicking for!” Sa Re was unusually dissatisfied with the general’s intrusion and retorted, “This is nothing!
They’re just not responding to you in a tily manner.
Maybe they’re too busy dealing with Demon Beasts in the forest to get back to you.
Get out of here this instant; don’t disturb my rest.
We can talk about anything else tomorrow morning!”
“But…” The general wanted to say more, but under the cold gaze of Sa Re, he inevitably had to retreat helplessly.
“Ridiculous nonsense, what in this forest could possibly threaten a group of Second Transition professionals?
Making a mountain out of a molehill!” Sa Re grumbled a few sentences, then leaned back on the soft fur and fell into a sound sleep.
The next morning, before Sa Re had fully awakened, the general who had barged into the tent last night rushed in again to announce, “Earl!
It’s truly bad!
This morning, when I checked on the troops, not only are last night’s three thousand unresponsive, but now over five thousand more have lost contact!”
“What?!” This ti Sa Re didn’t bla the intruding general; instead, he widened his eyes.
Last night’s three thousand plus this morning’s five thousand already accounted for more than half his force!
“Quickly investigate the reason!” Sa Re imdiately ordered and charged out of the tent, not even bothering about his attire.
On his way back, Sa Re saw nothing but the corpses of dead soldiers en route, most of which had already been eaten by the Demon Beasts of the forest, leaving only bleached bones.
“Earl, all our n died at the hands of the sa person!” After examining the wounds, one of Sa Re’s trusted aides trembled as he reported the results of the investigation.
So many soldiers killed by the sa individual from night to dawn, could even the most powerful beings on the wastelands achieve that?
“How is that possible?!” Sa Re snarled, “Are you sure?!”
“Yes…
Yes, like the initial hundred or so soldiers, they were all killed by the sa person.”
“Could it be that I have offended a mightier sealed by the Heavenly God?
Impossible!” Sa Re furrowed his brows, his mind in turmoil.
At that mont, a soldier stumbled back, reporting to Sa Re, “Terrible news, Earl!
Just a short distance ahead, there is…
there is blood writing!”
“Take to see it.” Sa Re followed the soldier to the site of the blood writing, and his vision went dark!
Is hunting not very amusing?
Now it’s my turn.
