Apophis was quite impressed with the outstanding results of his last quest!
As it stood, his stats were amazing. He was as strong as a normal player might be at lvl 60, and hadn't even spent his wealth of Skill Points yet.
However, Apophis was aware that one had to be careful when leveling up powerful skills. It was entirely possible to raise a skill so high that its required energy surpassed the player's reserves, making it unusable until they further increased their own power.
But even more so than the thought of upgrading his existing skulls, Apophis was filled with excitent at the thought of gaining a new Runic skill, the highest rarity in the ga!
He opened the skill roulette and spun it. His heart nearly stopped while the cursor slowed to a halt on its final selection!

What kind of skill was this?
If Apophis imagined a supernova or a black hole, could he really manifest it into reality? Apophis wanted to test this skill right away, but to be forced to wait for the week-long cooldown in the middle of a war made it unwise.
One detail above all else caught his attention:
It cost 5,000 Skill Points to upgrade the skill to the next level. That was absurd! He doubted anyone in his forr life had ever amassed that many Skill Points over their entire careers!
Of course, in this new life, Apophis had discovered quest after quest which gave him special rewards. Considering how much more powerful he was now compared to where he should be at his level, it was entirely possible that he 'could' gain this equivalent of five hundred levels of rewards, given enough ti.
Of course, even if he had so many points at that point, Apophis knew it would likely be foolish to spend them on this skill. Not only would it surely be overwhelmingly energy-consuming, but that many Skill Points could go a long way to improving his other abilities!
Instead, Apophis spent 300 Skill Points to upgrade ~Susanoo~, ~Berserk~, and ~Dark Cosmic ditation~. These gained new properties, which he studied carefully.

Apophis still had 705 Skill Points left, so he spent 60 points on ~Energy Regeneration~. He now had 100 points in this skill, which allowed him to regenerate 15,000 energy in a few minutes.
Then he spent 130 Skill Points on ~Telekinesis~, bringing it to a new value of 140 points. At this level, he could lift the equivalent of a whole building! It was finally useful in combat.
Then Apophis spent 500 points to upgrade his basic Esper ability, ~Firebending~, increasing it to 550 points! At this level, he could lt stone without difficulty.
Of course, this upgrade would have been useless if he didn't have this skill ~Eternal Fla (lvl 3)~, which negated the energy cost of fire skills.
After buying all these upgrades, the desertion notifications had finally slowed to a trickle.
It was ti to get back into the fight!
