"Kill them all."
The black-masked, bulky man commanded.
Though his voice was calm, it echoed throughout the entire hall. The guests grew tense, putting up a collective defensive stance, not only against the bulky man but also against those who were around them. One never knows where the attack might co from.
It’s him, huh? I recalled that guy. That scar, that body and that attitude. I honestly did not even need to search my mories to find out who he was. Ah! By no ans was he important. No, it’s just that people like him tended to stand out more than they were supposed to. The worst kind of quality for soone like him, one that is supposed to be an assassin.
Should I do sothing about him? I questioned before realising that Aurora was already here. Plus, Morgan and Alexandra too can handle soone like him with barely half the effort. Lastly, for Raven.... Hmmm... I think she can handle him, but it’s questionable she will win.
Whatever. I don’t really need to get involved. I decided as I observed his expression once more.
Smirking as he observed the guests with a look of mockery on his face. He folded his arms as he looked at the chaos that was just about to begin, his eyes ready to enjoy every mont that was about to transpire.
-Sigh!
I couldn’t help but sigh, looking at that foolish grin of his.
Perhaps that’s why I couldn’t recognize the dozen other guests at the party. Was the only thing that I could think of at that mont.
There was a limit to how much of an idiot one can be. A limit to how much you can underestimate the upper society.
Those who worked under that bulky man, the secret assassins whom I failed to recall the nas of, turned to their nearest partner. Taking out hidden weapons from their sleeves, waists and other places where they had kept the weapons, they moved one step forward, attacking the vital points of the partners they were just having a loving conversation with.
From a distance, I looked at the one closest to . The assassin targeted the eldest son of the Iria family. A middle-aged, brown-haired man currently at the top position in the empire of motorcycles within this country. Also, a black-belt in tae-Kwon-do.
A single step to the side, and the blade missed its target. Then a kick in the abdon while he took the assassin’s blade off, and then catching it mid-air to slash the attacker’s neck.
Oh!
But he missed. The assassin at the last movent bent down even more than he should and dodged the attack before back-flipping two-tis and creating a gap between the two. Amused, the eldest son of Iris looked at the assassin, and with a slight smirk he signalled the assassin with his hand to try again one more ti.
It was the sa everywhere else.
The assassins missed, either completely or the vital spots, as the guests dodged and counterattacked. It was a rather peculiar sight as I saw the assassin’s face crumble, looking at their targets, easily evading them, sotis even challenging them back. What felt even more ridiculous was that not even a single assassin succeeded?
It would have been a great plan if it had been a casual party. But it’s not. Only those who are strong enough to defend themselves in a party where literally everyone else could be an enemy, are invited. Even after that, the entire mansion was surrounded by people in the families ready to barge. In case things went wrong. I thought as I recalled a few basics that I knew about parties like these.
So, in the end, I could only reach two conclusions.
Either the attackers are dumb. Not knowing where they shouldn’t try their hand. Or... this whole thing is a big misdirection and sothing else is going on at the top.
My eyes reached to the dead, burnt, lifeless guy, Anderseen. I recalled how he shouted to save him before he fell on the ground before succumbing to his death.
Why not shout ’water’? Or sothing else? Hmmm... I could be overthinking, but perhaps he was running away from sothing? I pondered it before looking at it from another direction.
What was he doing up there? From what I know, no one other than those in the host family can go up there. Then, why would soone like Anderseen, a man with barely any connections to Alexandra or her family, be up there? Could he be not a victim but an assailant? Was there a fight going on up there?
Whatever the reason, sothing was surely going on up there. Sothing that was far more important than the foolhardy that was going on here.
Let’s check it out. I decided as my interest was piqued now.
Taking the first step towards the stairs, I observed the party once again.
The first person that I looked at was Raven. She sat there gracefully, sipping a cup of iced tea that she had taken not long after the beautiful ’dance’ with . Ignoring all the chaos surrounding her, she seed to be much more relaxed as she enjoyed that black iced tea.
She was more tense than this when she was teaching the dance.
Her eyes casually looked at the masked, bulky black man before a sigh escaped her mouth, and then she turned towards . Our gazes t, and she observed for a few silent seconds before she raised her cup, as if asking, ’Do you want so?’ To which I shook my head.
She nodded before taking another sip as she then ignored and once again focused on relaxing as she focused back on enjoying that tea.
Peculiar. I thought before turning in the other direction, this ti towards the trio who were engaged in a fight.
Morgan was casually taking care of three assassins on his own. Those assassins worked together to keep Morgan in check, also making sure he wasn’t able to move even a single step away from his position.
Behind him was Alexandra, who was for so reason, hiding behind as a damsel in distress. If I didn’t know any better, I would have surely fallen for this act as well. This damsel was so strong that she could eat two Morgans all by herself.
Why was she even doing this? Perhaps she hasn’t realised that this is all a facade. Or perhaps she knows it but believes that everything is fine? I pondered before moving another step up the stairs.
Alexandra, who was observing the surroundings, then turned to . Her eyes narrowed, finally showing so actual signs of being serious as she asked in a low voice but moving her lips a bit more so that I could read her words.
Where are you going? She seed to be asking.
Checking things up there. I think sothing is going on there. I answered.
She paused for a brief before adding. Wait a minute.
I then saw her mumbling sothing to Morgan before dodging a few of the assassins as she skillfully reached within a single minute. The chaos... seed to be the least of her concerns.
"All right. Let’s go," she said as she looked at without even a strain of exhaustion or worry.
Looking in the sa area where Alexandra and Morgan were, I also saw Aurora defeating a few assassins with little trouble while Silva sat on a nearby seat and observed the chaos, yawning, as if she were bored by the whole thing.
Turning back to the black-masked man, I observed the complicated expression taking shape on his face. It was easy to make out that he wasn’t shocked with whatsoever was going on at the party. He observed a few special guests and seed to mumble sothing before his eyes gazed in my direction.
Focusing for a few seconds, he took out what looked like a walkie-talkie, and began speaking into it.
"Mr. Anthony?" Alexandra called out of my thoughts. Turning back to her, I saw her a few steps above, questioning what I was doing?
"Let’s go," I responded before moving up, walking behind her.
No point in thinking so deeply about it. I thought as I reached the first floor and looked at the hallway that took deeper into the first floor area, where most of the rooms were. Though before we moved, Alexandra paused and turned towards .
"You have already figured out who I am, right?" She asked.
"Alexandra Graham Bellimore," I answered.
Taking off the mask, she threw it down before speaking.
"All right. I won’t need this anymore then. Let’s go. Let give you a tour of the Milan Palace, one of the most prestigious palaces of the Bellimore Family."
Then turned around, signalling to follow behind her, as I chuckled and nodded, before moving in slow steps as she began explaining the architecture to .
