Alexandra moved out of Mikael’s apartnt.
Her eyes once again lingered in the shabby apartnt corridor before looking at the distant playground where children’s laughter echoed.
The parents chatted while the dogs circled around the teenagers, playing with a frisbee. A food stall selling street food was visible. A focused look could make out the skewers, French fries and ready-to-eat hamburgers it had placed on the barbecue counter.
Alexandra’s eyes narrowed at the food stall for a few monts. Saliva could be seen dripping out of her mouth, which she gracefully wiped before stepping towards the apartnt complex’s main gate.
About 30 minutes later, carrying a paper package of at skewers and French fries, Alexandra made her way towards the minimalistic-designed car, which, although costly, was hard to differentiate from what the common folks used. Perfect for visiting a friend whose financial conditions weren’t as good.
"Why didn’t you ask him?" Beside her, Morgan, the heavily built man, stood in a white T-shirt and navy blue baggy jeans. His intimidating looks kept the bugs who were about to approach Alexandra, a few ters away from where they turned around to their own mundane business.
Alexandra’s smile stiffened at her fiancé’s words, making her droop a little before she spoke in an exhausted tone.
"I can’t figure him out."
Morgan recalled the sa man he t at the party before asking,
"Is he really that good?"
"I don’t know," she answered with an irritated look.
Morgan kept quiet as he waited for Alexandra to continue. She took out a skewer from her packet and took a bite of three pieces of at at once. Chewing it with the sa irritated look, she continued,
"How can anyone nom nom be so poor yet nom nom give the vibe of the most high-class people I have t?"
Well, that is true. His background is pretty simple. In fact, it’s so simple that one may even think it’s forged. Morgan pondered before asking,
"So what should we do now?"
"I gave him the rcer Debraou case. If he is able to find even a clue regarding him, I will ask him to accompany to the next party. After all, the next event is thed ’Discovery.’" She answered.
This was the true motive of Alexandra’s visit.
She was going to organize another party, this ti on a much grander scale, where more than 200 guests would be invited. This was sothing she had been holding for quite so ti, but now that her brother was out of the picture, she could take asures to increase her influence.
The Debrau family would be an important part of the party, and if she could gain the favour of them through Mikael, it would be a huge benefit for her. At that point, adding Mikael to the party would be much more fruitful than just doing it for his skills and talents.
I was going to invite him anyway, but this test would also allow him to see through his capabilities. She pondered, as the task was sothing that even the most famous detectives failed to do. A few capable ones were indeed successful in collecting evidence and links to where he could have been, but nobody could truly reach the place where rcer was hidden.
It was as if he had vanished into thin air.
"I would also like to have a proper rematch against him," Morgan said with a slight smile.
"Ooh! It’s rare for you to get excited," she mumbled before recalling how Mikael put him down with such ease. That too, given for his scrawny body with barely any muscles.
The more I look at him, the harder he becos to understand. Alexandra felt odd as he recalled the mont when he got out of the bath with his borderline thin arms, and shabby, undefined stomach.
Alexandra looked around, at the dirty look of the beggars in the corners and at the small gang mbers who walked around with tal bats and such. She pondered the situation with Mikael’s mother, and then, giving it a second thought, she turned to Morgan,
"Think you can take care of it? This place is a little too dirty."
"I was thinking the sa," Morgan answered. All those stares from a distance were bothering him, but he could not act without permission from Alexandra.
"Do it discreetly," she added.
Her visit today was a secret to the family, and it would also be the sa for any actions they would need to take on this trip. If word gets out that Alexandra Bellimore was visiting a small neighbourhood, it would attract unnecessary troubles for both her and her possibly future benefactor.
Given that he will enroll in Regalia Academy, I should also begin structuring the scholarship program accordingly. For starters, a Bungalow in the nearby district should be fine, given that his mother is going to stay with him. We can also add an annual salary and a library pass. Lastly, if possible, I should try to get a higher-level training area pass. Alexandra then began thinking about the benefits she could acquire for him within the academy, given the authority she holds as an alumnus.
She also had an unused recomndation letter that she had forgotten about. When she found out how Silva t him, she almost cursed her own luck, wondering why she couldn’t be the one to et him. But then again, it was futile thinking, so she gave up on that.
"You should leave then. I will follow behind within an hour at the Mall," Morgan interrupted her thoughts as he was done calling a bunch of his n to take care of the ss in this neighbourhood. They should be arriving within 10 minutes, and with them, he can take care of everything within half an hour before reaching the place where Alexandra was going.
"Sure," Alexanda smiled before getting into the driver’s seat after she finished the last skewer and placed the fries and burger on the passenger seat.
"See you later then," she added before driving her car off.
All right. This should fill in for the missed morning stretches. Morgan thought before cracking his fingers as he walked to the nearby thugs.
