BONUS Chapter 3/3

Ren slapped Leonel on the head. “What do you an, sidekick?”
Leonel rubbed his injured head, but he grinned from ear to ear. He stuck out his tongue while laughing in a silly manner. “Ehehehehe.”
While the two argued, Players 4 and 5 looked at each other. They nodded with understanding before they bolted away with their tails between their legs.
“Hey!”
“And where do you think you’re going?” Ren mockingly asked. “You should have accepted my offer the first ti. Now, only death is your only escape.”
With a flicked of his staff, another series of magical shots whistled towards the two players with deadly precision. Player 5 howled in surprise when he felt sothing hot searing on his back before he burst into nothingness, eyes wide.
While Player 4 narrowly escaped death’s grip with only a single-digit HP left. He didn’t even look back, and he was quick to disappear, leaving his companions behind while shouting.
“You’ll pay for this! We know your nas and faces!”
Leonel only snickered and looked at Ren. “Should we give chase?”
“Leave him. I don’t want to waste any more mana.”
They then picked up the drops those groups left and stored them in their inventory without any guilt.
“I know that I should feel awful for stealing these items, but I don’t,” said Leonel as he stored the [Silver Bow] and [Thieve’s Knife] in his storage. Though they weren’t rare, they could still be sold in exchange of a couple of gil, and that was already a couple of dollars.
“They started it so . . . karma on them,” Leonel added and laughed. “Looks like my al for tomorrow is secured!”
“Let’s go. We have wasted enough ti with those idiots already.”
Leonel jogged to catch up to Ren. “Where are we going anyway?”
“. . .” Ren didn’t say anything and thought for a mont before he made up his mind. “Deserted Valley.”
“. . . Sounds ominous . . . and your typical run-down place.”
“It’s worse than that.”
Deserted Valley was located in the north. It was surrounded by snow, cold, bones, and dead vegetation. Nothing would grow there, even a grass. In exchange, the land there was so cheap that it was almost a giveaway. It was the reason why many poor guilds chose to build their base on that forsaken place.
In order to reach Deserted Valley, they went to Snowflake Village and traveled there by paying an escort. These were NPCs that offered rides. And unlike the Caravans where you traveled in groups and stopped at nurous locations, theirs were private and only accepted one player a ride. And the good thing was, it didn’t contain any quest that would hinder their travel.
Though only two people could travel on the back of their pet, a giant Ostrich, which they called, Strucko. But unlike Ostrich, Struckos have large eyes, beck, and long, massive chicken legs. Their feathers were usually white in color and they were common in snowy places. This was so they could blend in with their surroundings to hide from beasts and monsters.
It only took hours by Struckos from Snowflake Village to Deserted Valley since the animals were fast like a horse on leveled lands.
Kicking snow as they went, Ren and Leonel reached Deserted Valley in no ti. Even though so players they passed wanted to PK them, it was impossible by how fast they were traveling.
Like Ren expected, the place still had no life in it. No trees, no oasis, no nothing except endless snow. There wasn’t even a wild grass. The wind howled in desolation while the place was shrouded in perpetual darkness and fog.
In this snow, they saw so cottages and tents a few kiloters away from each other. These cottages made of brick stones and thatched roofs were guilds as well as the clustered tents not far from them.
They were the poor bottom-feeder players who didn’t have thousands or even hundreds of gil or real money to spend on buying lands in the most scenic of places. Their Guild House was so simple that the developers offered them for free.
“Ahh . . .” Leonel’s forehead crumpled. “I can sll that familiar scent. Sad. Depressed. No money.”
Ren ignored him and roved his eyes on who he should pick among the poor guilds. Their guild nas were plastered on top of their main door, and Ren didn’t recognize any of them.
Who would? They probably belonged to the thousand-plus rankings in the past. Not worth ntioning.
Until he stumbled upon a familiar na.
Fighting Lamb
Ren blinked. It was Roxy and Rox’s guild na. He couldn’t believe that the two actually went for that na. He thought that Roxy was only joking about starting a guild but who knew that she was serious?
“Let’s go with that guild.” Ren pointed to a small house not far from them.
Leonel looked at where Ren was pointing, and his scowl deepened.
It was a small cottage made of charcoal colored wood with a fluffy, almost cottony white roof. Leonel was sure that the roof was made up of white sheep wool. And beside the guild house was another small fence where a Suffolk sheep was ‘hing’ all around.
To be honest, Ren was also surprised with the fence and the sheep. He didn’t know how the siblings got it. But he wasn’t really interested to know.
“Let’s go.”
“Are you sure?” Leonel wasn’t thrilled at the funny-looking guild.
With two knocks, the door of Fighting Lambs opened, and Roxy’s haggard face welcod Ren and Leonel.
“Are you here to sign up for the guild?” she asked in enthusiasm while her eyes shone in eagerness.
“Ah, no.” Leonel imdiately said, and he was about to say sothing else when Roxy slamd the door on his face before shouting inside.
“I’m not interested in anything you sell!”
Ren and Leonel looked at each other.
“Too bad. Let’s go.” Leonel was about to turn when Ren stopped him by the collar and the latter knocked again.
After a series of knocks, Roxy angrily flung the door open. The force seed like it would rip the door from its hinges.
“I said??“!”
“Do you want to win in the guild war?” Ren cut her in.
Roxy was stunned and couldn’t speak. She was caught off guard at the sudden unexpected question.
“Sis. Who’s in the door?” Rox pushed the door wide and saw Ren and Leonel on the other side of the fra. “Who are you?”
“I’m Ren, and this is Leonel. And we are here to help your guild win this upcoming Guild War.”
“. . .”
“. . .”
Silence descended between the two groups.
Leonel saw two look-alike people with dark skin and white hair before he laughed a little. “So that’s why you’re called like that. You look like Suffolk Sheep!”
Watching as the dwarf with a fake beard laughed at them, Rox slapped his sister in the arm.
“See? I told you that we would be a laughing stock. But you still paid extra for that fence and that sheep.”
“I just thought that it’s funny,” Roxy defended herself. “And who knows that those developers would seriously consider my comnt about putting a fence and a sheep. They’re kinda aweso that way.”
Rox rolled his eyes before he settled them at Ren and Leonel. “Sorry. But what is this all about?”
“We are a rcenary group nad World Conquerors,” Ren started. His rcenary group na was well thought if he say so himself.
They were conquerors. Dominators. They just wouldn’t win every competition. They would dominate it.
“And we’re here to help you win the upcoming guild wars . . . for free,” he added.
