After passionately reuniting with Mira, Max went on to greet his other wives too as he slowly walked towards Asiva.
"Hi Siv-" Max said as he slipped his arms under Asiva's waist and held her close lovingly.
Kreth cringed and looked away, but Max still looked deep into her blood red eyes and gave her a nice kiss as well.
"Hey Max-" Asiva said as calmly as ever as Max was relieved to see that despite his negligence, his wife had not grown to hate him.
It was an odd feeling, however, Max could feel it in his bones that although everyone in the family was there around him and although everyone was smiling, there was sothing wrong in the atmosphere, like although his family was smiling, the genuine respect they had for him seed to be gone.
" Hey babe-" Max said as he went to hug Anna who rolled her eyes and said "Hey Babe- *giggle*" and hugged him back.
She too did not seem to hate Max, however, the hug that she gave him while it was loving, it did not feel like she was dependent on him anymore.
There was a ti when Anna was so jealous of what he and Asiva had and was so desperate to get his love and affection that she could not tolerate being separated from him for even a month.
That desperation and passion was the spark that Max enjoyed in their relationship, but now it was gone.
To make matters worse, their son Gopal was glaring holes in his back for hugging his mother and while Max appreciated the care he had for his mother, he also felt an intense desire to remind the boy that this was his house.
" How have you been, Gopal my boy" Max said after letting go of Anna as he looked straight into his son's eyes in a semi-intimidating manner.
Max expected the boy to wet his pants, but Gopal was a thoroughbred noble although he was a teenager and caved before no-one.
Glaring right back into his father's eyes although his legs were trembling he said "I'm fine, how are you?"
His voice was confident and although he instantly realized the disparity between their strength and his foolishness in showing animosity towards his father, he stood his ground like any man should.
" Good-" Max said as he looked away from Gopal and relieved so of the pressure he exuded, allowing the boy to breathe normally again as he felt impressed by his resolve.
It seed like even in his absence his children were growing properly which ca as a huge relief.
" And finally how is my angel?" Max said as he hugged Hazriel tightly and kissed her passionately.
Of all his wives, Max could see that only Hazriel and Mira still loved him the sa as they did when they t the first day as their passion for him had not diminished.
Those two still wished for Max to be with them forever every second of the day.
Unlike the other wives, Hazriel said nothing but a steady stream of tears rolled down her eyes as she hugged Max.
She had been happily single for years and even now with her kid and her family united once more she was happy, however, never had she felt happier than when she did when she was with Max and it was a sensation she could never get over.
Everyday away from him was a torture and she could not ever be at her happiest if he was not around.
Max hugged her back tightly and in this mont realized the folly of his ways and how in chasing sothing he wanted he was losing everything that mattered.
"I'm sorry" he said from the bottom of his heart and although he whispered it only to Hazriel, he ant it for all his family whom he could not attend to.
For the next five minutes, as Hazriel cried, Max stood still and consoled her as the rest of the family held in their tears and criticisms in their heart.
They were all feeling what Hazriel was feeling, but no-one had the guts to confront Max about it.
Finally as Hazriel stopped crying, Max looked around, nodding to the rest of the family, until his eyes fell on his sisters in law whom he had to greet cordially.
" Sisters in law" he said, bowing politely as both Ruby and Naomi shook their heads in disapproval.
" You know Max, a lot has happened since you were not here, so let get you upto speed.
Kreth has fallen in love with a vampire, she's a lovely girl, but he won't marry her without your blessings so that's the first thing on your checklist.
Jake has already married and is now a father….. so I'm a grandmother now!
Amy has also married, she's now the Queen of Hell since her husband is Hades and unfortunately there are no kids there yet.
Your wives are miserable in your absence and while I'm sure you must have achieved sothing super important in the last ten years we haven't seen you, I hope that before you enact your next ten year plan you give this family so closure and not be a failure as a father, husband and uncle" Naomi said in a cold tone as she outright gave Max a scolding.
Of all the people gathered, she was the only person who was an elder in the family compared to Max and had the right to scold him and she exercised that right to full degree as Max was left with his head hanging down.
" I'll surely do better-" Max said as he had to swallow his pride and apologize in public.
Looking around once more Max did notice a human girl standing beside Jake who had absolutely no presence at all since she was a tier1 mortal and he also noticed Hades standing calmly beside Amy who for so reason had black lipstick on and looked like a diva.
While internally Max disapproved of both these marriages, what choice did he have about it now?
Since he was not around he got no say in it and could now only accept things as they were.
" Welco to the family-" Max said in a completely unwelcoming voice as both the new girl and Hades bowed before him in gratitude.
