After Fearless’ death, the aggro returned back to Ming Du and Prideful Frost. Under the invincibility state, Nine Solitary Spears and Boson got used to the rhythm of the fight once more. At the sa ti, the three people at the peak were beating the Ape King until he was only left with his skin.
When he was only one fist away from being defeated, the Ape King suddenly stood up and exploded.
This scared the three of them. After getting beaten up for so long and not reacting, was he trying to fight back at this very last mont?
Who knew that the Ape King only stood up to point at Wang Yu, "Below your feet..."
"What’s below my feet?" Wang Yu was slightly taken aback, "What?"
Before the Ape King could answer Wang Yu, he fell to the ground and beca a corpse.
"..."
The three of them beca speechless at how ridiculous this BOSS was. What was below Wang Yu’s feet? Why didn’t he continue to talk before dying? How irritating!
The mont the BOSS died, the flock of monsters below lost their leader. They were no longer interested in staying at the battlefield so they dispersed away instantly.
When the players saw that the BOSS had fallen, everyone heaved a huge sigh of relief.
However, the thought of Fearless and Thunderlord Block being stuck at the bottom of the mountain made them sigh depressingly again.
Thunderlord Block’s character might not be very good but there was no doubt that he was pretty strong. As a Tank, he was truly irreplaceable in the squad.
Fearless was the leader of this dungeon attempt and the most important soul of this dungeon. Without him, the later stages of the dungeon would definitely beco several levels harder. At this mont, everyone realised how great it was to have a crafty and vicious fella as a teammate.
"Are we not going to respawn? If we don’t respawn, we will not have any completion level again."
It was ti for them to respawn but just as Thunderlord wanted to respawn, he was stopped by Fearless. This explained his comparatively angsty attitude.
Fearless replied, "The mountain path has already been obstructed. We will respawn the saved data point for the first stage so even if we respawn, we will not get the completion level."
"B*stard! I will kill you!" Thunderlord was fuming. The first ti he was set up by Fearless, he didn’t have the completion level. This ti, he was also going to miss out on the completion level. When he heard the words of Fearless, he could tell that Wang Yu was implying they might not even get a chance to fight the remaining dungeon stages, let alone gain the completion level.
At the thought of this, Thunderlord’s anger was really at the maximum. If they weren’t in the soul state, he might really kill Fearless.
Fearless shook his head and replied, "Stop fooling around! If you listen to , I can guarantee we can catch up with the progress."
"What are you suggesting?" Thunderlord was extrely depressed right now. He had already made his decision to leave the dungeon if Fearless couldn’t think of a good plan.
"We will respawn after three minutes." Fearless said.
"Three minutes? Why?"
Fearless replied, "Are you really an expert? Have you not heard of towing the corpse?"
Towing the corpse ant that after a player was dead in a dungeon and released his soul, he chose not to respawn imdiately. Instead, he waited for the other mbers to fight till the end of the stage before respawning. Respawning at that mont would allow them to appear at the end of the stage and also gained the BOSS’s experience and rewards.
This was a very old and traditional way to complete dungeons. This was usually done by the better players to help the weaker players.
Thunderlord Block was a professional gar so he didn’t have ti to bring or help anyone. Therefore, he never thought of this possibility.
"Are you sure that this ga permits towing the corpse?" Thunderlord asked.
Towing the corpse was not allowed in every single ga out there. In fact, so gas treated this technique as a BUG.
"Let’s just try it then. We have no other choice anyway..." Fearless responded.
They would still have a glimr of hope if they tried but if they chose not to try, they would definitely be stuck at the bottom of the mountain...
"F*ck!" Thunderlord was really feeling frustrated now.
Without the obstructions of the monsters, the gars found it so much easier and quicker to ascend the mountain. In about three minutes, the squad made it up to the peak and at this mont, Fearless and Thunderlord clicked on ’respawn’.
In a flash of light, the duo got up from the checkpoint at the peak of the mountain.
"Eh? How did you guys end up respawning here?"
Everyone was extrely surprised when they saw the appearance of Fearless and Thunderlord.
Looking at everyone at the peak of the mountain, Fearless turned to Thunderlord with pride, "See? I told you towing the corpse will work."
"Oh, so you towed the corpse..." Everyone, being an expert themselves, knew what that ant.
"Tsk! Just watch out!" Thunderlord glared at Fearless before saying that. Thunderlord had already decided to kill Fearless every ti he sees him and would not waste any ti in doing so.
Nine Solitary Spears thought to himself, "Is this idiot really that brainless? Dying twice because of Fearless and he hasn’t learnt his lesson. Even if he wanted to take revenge, he should say it when they got out of this dungeon. Fearless even dared to set himself up so did he really think he could get past the later stages of the dungeon by saying things like that?"
"Haha," Fearless chuckled but didn’t bother about Thunderlord.
The Ape King didn’t drop anything after he died... The three books were extorted by Wang Yu and co. so they couldn’t be considered as a team interests. Naturally, the three books were split equally among Wang Yu and the two others.
Even if they didn’t receive any equipnt, clearing the stage was a decent reward. After all, this was a faction dungeon and the unique point about faction dungeon was the experience points and not equipnt.
After organising themselves, the squad continued the dungeon quest.
After climbing up from the bottom, everyone realised that they weren’t standing on the mountain peak. Instead, it was more of a plateau.
The Dusk Plateau in the dungeon was much bigger than the Dusk Plateau in the ordinary map. Moreover, it wasn’t a boundless wasteland like the one on the ga’s map. This one in the dungeon had flowers, grass and forests. Even though it wasn’t very dense, this looked much better and prettier than the wasteland.
However, it was extraordinarily odd that such a big piece of land was so extrely quiet. In fact, there wasn’t even a single monster in the vicinity.
With two prior lessons learnt, everyone dared not to be careless. They ca into formation with the tanks in front and attackers behind. Spring Halo’s demons were placed right at the back. The group of them, so watched the sky while others watched the left and right. They navigated carefully and moved forward as they were fearful of another ambush by monsters like the Eagle Riding Demonic Apes.
"This place feels extrely unusual. Why does it feel so lifeless?" Ming Du asked cautiously after walking for so ti.
In >, they really did put in a lot of effort in terms of the effect of scenes. The environnt in the ga was not much different from real life. While they were ascending the mountain earlier, even though there were no longer any monsters, one could still fear the chirping of birds and the noises of bugs. However, this plateau was unusually quiet and besides the sound of their own footsteps, there was literally no other sound at all.
"Don’t tell there are ’ghosts’ here..." Vainglory added this sentence and everyone was frightened. It was clearly a sunset setting but they could feel a tinge of cold behind their backs. Yang Nuo felt it the most as she pointed to Vainglory, "Spout nonsense again and I will kill you now!"
In this ga, ghost monsters refer to the undead and they were also known as spectres. Physical attacks were basically useless against spectres and these monsters were incredibly difficult to deal with. However, discussing ghosts in such a situation would cause everyone to subconsciously think of sothing else...
