Chapter 761: Chapter 761: The Curtain Rises
Upon hearing the queen casually dismiss this as a minor issue, Li Yao’s face twitched in bitterness. With the experience from his previous life, he knew all too well that this was not a minor issue.
Though those extraterrestrial beings could not traverse galaxies, they were still magical creatures in reality.
The magic they wield and their fighting techniques were sothing Earthlings could not compare to. The ways humans enhanced their spiritual power and trained their bodies all originated from these planets.
The Gui Yuan Cultivation thod, it was said, was a thod employed by the Giant Dragon.
Discarding those techniques and magic for now, based purely on physical strength and spiritual power, if the average physical quality of Earthlings was represented as 1.
Even the weakest of these extraterrestrial magical creatures would score above 6.
...
If not for mankind’s control over powerful scientific weapons and their spacecrafts, humans would be the weaker race.
In the Ancient God World, while the basic quality of everyone was similar, their ways of warfare were mimicked from alien races, making them an easier target when fighting.
The alien connection began about a year after Li Yao started gaming when he was a thief. At that ti, when humans faced off these alien players, it was like children encountering adults. It was completely one-sided.
The situation only began to improve after a year or two. It took five or six years for human combat skills to match those of the aliens.
Li Yao needn’t think twice to know that the most popular current events were various tasks against the Different Dinsion. He didn’t know how many players were going to lose the ga and realize the combat talents of the aliens.
The aliens, in reality, have also started playing the ga long ago. However, they were confined in small servers and were unable to choose their race. Whatever race they were in reality, the sa race they would appear as in the ga. They acquired corresponding combat skills based on their level and ranking. And in the real world, they had genuinely mastered these skills.
This was unlike humans who, even if they excelled in the ga and wielded enormous spiritual power, could not achieve that in reality without a corresponding new ch.
There are also various types of alien races such as ogres, werewolves, vampires, undead, draconids, and even baby dragons.
The queen said, “The place I want you to spy on is to the east of the Town of Mourning Bells, a three-day ride by horse. If the intel is correct, this ti the lizardn are coming. These creatures are bloodthirsty and brutal, be careful.”
“Aren’t lizardn known to live in cold, damp swamps? Why would they choose this place?” Li Yao furrowed his brow.
“They are transforming the terrain near the portal into a decaying swamp,” the queen said after so consideration. “This ti is particularly dangerous. I will give you so assistance. Here are three transformation flutes that can change your race and job to that of the corresponding hero level, all much stronger than your current power. I recomnd you choose this Undead Rogue flute. The others are too eclectic, I fear you can’t control them.”
Li Yao looked at the three flutes.
Vampire Shape-shifting Flute
Quality: Purple Epic
Can transform into a hero-level Vampire Predator after use.
The transformation effect will continue until it is cancelled, at which point it cannot be used again for two hours.
Note: Automatically learn skills that correspond to the level after transformation.
The remaining one is the transformation flute for a werewolf warrior, with attributes similar to the Vampire flute.
After considering for a mont, Li Yao said, “I’ll choose the predator. His ability to survive is slightly stronger.”
“As you wish.” The queen threw the transformation flute to Li Yao. “If you complete this task to my satisfaction, not only can you keep this transformation flute, I will also teach you one to two Dark Ranger skills.”
“I will get on it right away.” Li Yao saluted and slowly exited.
Although the queen’s mood was unpredictable, and the tasks she assigned were almost impossible, the rewards offered were quite tempting and generous.
Li Yao inspected his task log.
Win the Team Battle
Task Description: The three factions are competing for resources, so they settled on a team battle to decide the hero. The resource spot will belong to the team battle champ. The queen must obtain the Void Crystal Mine, a vital resource for the undead life cycle and transformation. However, other forces also need this precious mineral.
Task Requirent: Win first place in the Team Battle.
Task Reward: 35% XP, 500 faction reputation, lead mission clues, rank, and promotion.
Investigate Alien Camp
Task Description: With the approach of small dinsions to the Ancient God World, a crisis ensued. A mishandling leads to unpredictable results. The number of mighty beings from different dinsions is so vast that each faction’s powerful beings had to shrink for self-defense.
Task Requirent: Investigate 0/100% of the main city where the Lizardman will land and cause them so trouble (optional).
Task Reward: 25% XP (50), 200 faction reputation (400), 1-3 Dark Ranger skills, and a transformation flute (already obtained).
Li Yao sighed, the first task was not entirely within his control, but he felt 70-80% confident. His teammates were not weak, and coupled with his experience and strength, he was indeed confident.
The second task was a tough call, the queen said the task was simple, just surveillance. Still, even if they couldn’t break free, they couldn’t not surveil. That was impossible.
In fact, the queen gave him this task and equipped him with the transformation flute because she wanted him to disrupt the Lizardn’s teleportation.
The worst he could do was cause so trouble to the Lizardn and delay the arrival of the main city of the Lizardn.
Although the queen didn’t ntion it, he was very clear that because of the docking of different dinsions, spatial distortions have caused the large-scale Teleportation Array that spanned the continent to fail, and the airship system was also down.
Due to the conflict with the centaurs, most of the three major factions’ troops were now concentrated on the West Continent.
This led to a shortage of ships, and it would take ti for the legions to return.
The East Continent and the Neutral Continent, in particular, were at an unprecedented weakness, a wrong move, and a great disaster could befall.
Of course, Li Yao knew that he was only a pawn deployed by the queen, who probably didn’t hold much hope for him.
Li Yao was clear that as the Different Dinsion docking was completed, along with the trial competition, a fierce bloody battle would ignite across the Ancient God World.
Moreover, he was acutely aware that after the competition, not only humans but other aliens would also join. Recollecting the dire state of defeat of humans from his past life, Li Yao felt sowhat anxious. This was the reason he was only 70-80% sure of winning. If there were only humans, he would have a hundred percent certainty.
“I’ve successfully registered, there are thirteen players, ten team mbers and three substitutes. If all goes well, we’ll gather at eight tomorrow night and decide the lineup,” Li’s sister-in-law said.
“Mm, you arrange it,” Li Yao said. “Inform everyone about the individual match tomorrow, besides , Yao Ji, and you, the rest can enter the guild ranking. At that ti, everyone’ll get an award. You draw up a charter.”
“Okay, that’s easy. Are you going back to the guild’s headquarters?” Li’s sister-in-law asked. “The Sand Dunes Camp has given us a mission. They’re all related to the Different Dinsion.”
“Unless necessary, I won’t go. Let the mbers do it collectively, try to avoid conflict with the aliens. I can’t get away with my task here.
After saying that, Li Yao got on the bat to the Town of Mourning Bells. He could imagine how lively the Town of Mourning Bells must be now.
