Chapter 639: Chapter 639: Too Cruel

“Who the hell is plotting against us?” The temper of Prosperous Era’s wild youth was at bursting point.

Based on the clues they’ve gathered, it seed that only one person was scheming against them, wholeheartedly ssing with their plans — and that was impossible.

“Now’s not the ti to figure out who’s behind it, let’s deal with the bug creatures first,” The Beast Speaker recovered from the shock.

“Hmm.” The Elder of Prosperous Era calmly responded, “Those of you in the guild hall , watch out for the bug eggs, um…”

He hesitated. In his opinion, destroying the eggs would be the best course of action, but that would risk the loss of the roc creature boss they were chasing after.

“Get them out, but don’t damage them. Maybe if we get rid of the eggs, the bugs will leave,” the Beast Speaker intervened.

“Excellent Idea,” the Elder of Prosperous Era agreed.

The Prosperous Era’s players inside attempted to put the eggs in their backpacks, but to no avail.

“It’s not possible, we can’t store them.”

“Then let’s get more people to carry them out.” The wild youth of Prosperous Era shouted, “What are you all, pigs?”

Prosperous Era’s players split into two groups, and started carrying the eggs out.

The two bug creatures that had been rampaging through the hall stopped their attacks, their look softened a fraction.

“We’ve been playing this long; it can’t end just like this.”

Li Yao, observing the situation, had a hint of coldness flash in his eyes. He conjured a small statue in his hand. He gently put a crystal into a groove on the statue and then threw it out.

The mont he threw the statue, his figure materialized in front of everyone, standing atop the guild hall.

“It’s him, it’s him who killed us!” A squad leader, previously killed by Li Yao, shouted.

The Beast Speaker didn’t even pay attention to the bugs anymore. He revived quickly and asked loudly, “Who are you and why are you plotting against Prosperous Era?”

Li Yao didn’t respond to him, his attention was on the falling statue. As it was about to hit the ground, it was struck by four black rays shooting from all sides.

The statue emitted a bright light and vanished in the void. Following that, vast amounts of gray vapor started spewing out from the piles of corpses.

The gray vapor was much thicker this ti, its intensity seed to have multiplied by untold asures.

The gray vapor ford a dense, gray fog that enveloped the outpost.

Even the two bug creatures, with their eggs, stopped in their tracks. Both eggs started to glow eerily, drawing the surrounding grey fog towards them like magnets.

As high-level creatures, the bugs were naturally intelligent.

Upon seeing this, they shrilled in delight.

Their original nest had been destroyed. The thought of going back and rebuilding it from scratch would take an unknown amount of ti.

The bugs scoped their surroundings, their eyes fell on the littered corpses of the Warcraft and players alike. They asked themselves, wasn’t this the perfect nesting site?

Realizing this, the two bugs turned around and let out an attack each, a Lava Breath.

The relaxed guild mbers of Prosperous Era at the hall’s entrance were instantly obliterated.

The bugs pushed the eggs into the hall then turned around, their eyes blazing with red light.

The Beast Speaker felt an alarming sense of unease as he turned towards Li Yao and asked, “What have you done?”

Li Yao responded indifferently, “Their nest has been destroyed, and this place is abundant with energy from decay and destruction, it’s the perfect place for their eggs. Can you guess what they’ll do now?”

The Beast Speaker turned pale as realization dawned on him — they intended to make this place their new ho.

“Who exactly are you? You’re using a transformation card, right?” The Beast Speaker took a deep breath, calming himself down.

Li Yao laughed and responded, “Take a guess.”

“Fuck, you son of a bitch, you’re looking for trouble.” The wild youth of Prosperous Era pointed at Li Yao and yelled, “Do you know who you’re ssing with? You have no idea, do you! You better deal with these bugs now, or else…”

Li Yao shrugged and responded, “Or else what, I’m right here. Why don’t you co bite ?”

“Fuck, kill him!” The wild youth of Prosperous Era scread.

“Don’t attack! Do you all have a death wish?” The Beast Speaker held back the players who intended to attack Li Yao. Given that Li Yao was currently standing at the top of the building, any premature attacks could easily provoke the bugs.

“Damn it, you wait.” The wild youth of Prosperous Era snarled.

Li Yao just chuckled and stayed silent.

“Actually, this isn’t all bad. We can’t use the main entrance, but we don’t need to rush in. We still have control of the guild hall from the outside. Instead, we’ve gained two powerful gatekeepers for our guild. With them guarding the entrance, who can break into our guild hall?” The Beast Speaker saw Li Yao leap onto another building and casually comnted, “If anything, we should be thanking you. Don’t run away, co down here and have a chat.”

“I was planning on leaving, but you make a good point. How could I just supply you with gatekeepers and call it a day? That wouldn’t satisfy at all.” Li Yao replied disappointedly.

“Humph, the wicked are dood to destruction.” The Elder of Prosperous Era’s mood notably improved.

What Beast Speaker said made sense. Even though it was inconvenient, the bugs didn’t seem like they would attack them randomly. Hadn’t they inadvertently gained a powerful gatekeeper for their guild hall?

With such a powerful boss-level beast guarding them, all losses could be considered covered.

“Hahaha, how satisfying it is to see a man get hit on his own foot with the stone he lifted. Too good.” The wild youth of Prosperous Era guffawed.

Li Yao suddenly brandished a controller-like device with a red button on it, and said sheepishly, “Oh dear, it’s a good thing I ca prepared, otherwise it’d indeed have worked to your advantage. Can you guess what this is? There’s a reward for anyone who guesses correctly.”

Everyone was puzzled, looking at the device Li Yao was holding. What on earth was it?

Suddenly, a Prosperous Era player who was well-versed in engineering scread, “This is an engineering object. It’s a detonator!”

A detonator? The mood of Beast Speaker and everyone else who had previously been laughing changes drastically.

“Bastard, you wouldn’t dare.”

“Don’t be impulsive, put down the detonator and we can forget about today’s events, otherwise…”

Li Yao simply laughed and pressed the button.

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom…

Suddenly, explosive blazes erupted everywhere, except for where Li Yao was standing. All other buildings erupted in flas.

All these buildings had been ravaged by the roc boss earlier, leaving their durability low, and with the addition of explosives, they started to crumble imdiately.

In just a mont, a majority of the guild’s base had already been dissolved, and the few remaining buildings were on the verge of falling.

Everyone’s eyes from the Prosperous Era guild turned red. They were taken aback by the explosion, and all the effort they put into the ga so far was wasted.

But was not the worst of it. The two bug eggs were blasted by the explosion, and landed in the middle of the players.

The two bug creatures suddenly ignited with a fiery aura, their eyes turned blood red, and rushed into the crowd like lightning.

Tanuki, who had been watching the horrendous spectacle unfold below, murmured, “So ruthless…”
