Translator: 549690339

There were nurous caves that Li Yao planned to fill up with ten thousand demons, hoping it might fuel the hatred system to strengthen him.

However, a ssage ca from his guild that changed his plans. He now wanted to rush to the Abyssal Temple’s instance to unravel the secret of the Mysterious Eye.

Upon reaching the entrance, Li Yao found the ancient gate tightly sealed.

Upon inspection, he realised the gate wasn’t an ancient relic but seed to have been constructed later.

After a week of trying, he tried opening the door with the Brute Force. Still, there was no response.

Li Yao understood that many aspects of the low-level maps were similar to the original online ga.

For example, monsters surrounding a jail cell would drop the keys. Or, there might be a door nearby with noticeable hints and thods to be opened, etc.

This was distinct from the higher-level maps which didnt offer such setups. In these maps, exploring a lone city or relic could often end in failure if a key to a door couldn’t be found.

And sotis, the task of opening the door might seem unrelated or given to soone who had the key but didn’t have the ans to unlock its secrets. This could be extrely frustrating.

Li Yao hesitated, inspecting the fallen Silver Ying Wizard again and noticed a Magic Orb.

He picked it up and placed it in a round hole on the left side of the gate.

Creak, creak, creak…

The gate finally opened.

“System: You have opened a mysterious gate, and a flux of dark and malicious Moon energy has washed over you. You feel as though you have received the Moon God’s care. It is as if you understand sothing, like you’re in a Temple belonging to the Moon God. However, the darkness and decay beneath the moon’s radiance stir up unease and curiosity in you.”

“System: A page of dusty history seems to have been revealed to you, but your fear and anxiety make you hesitate. You must decide whether to explore the secrets within or sohow inform the Ancient Elves about the Temple of the Moon God.”

Li Yao understood that this was a decision to make. The first choice was to venture into this new area and face the unknown. He might even perish in the process. That was an unknown.

The second choice was to notify the Temple of the Moon God, even though he belonged to the Dark Camp.

After all, he was a High Elf. Although the ancient Elves had evolved into distinct species and stood in different camps, they wouldn’t readily kill each other. Obviously, none of this applied to adventurers like him.

Also, he could secure a reward from the Temple of the Moon God.

“System: You have stepped across the threshold, choosing an unknown path, earning the achievent ‘Lone Hero.’”

Lone Hero: Confronting the unknown alone, bravely challenging it. Spirit-Magic Resistance 30.

Li Yao was montarily astonished; he hadn’t expected to earn this achievent.

Spirit-Magic was control magic that affected the mind, mainly used in dark magic, this resistance was potentially useful.

As Li Yao entered the gate, he instantly felt weighed down, as if restrained by an invisible force.

“It’s preventing any flight-related transformations and skills,” Li Yao frowned. He realized that this was likely a Flight Ban Array, often found in areas where players were required to overco certain obstacles by jumpings.

Li Yao, turning a corner, saw the path imdiately clear before his eyes, revealing his current predicant.

He saw before him a large number of Stone Columns, much like the stepping poles used in martial arts training.

Beneath the columns were sharp, protruding red spikes, easily a hundred yards high. Falling from these columns would certainly an death.

These columns varied in size, height, and even colour and engravings.

Li Yao noticed a giant dice, over a person tall, with Ancient Elven digits marked on it.

“Could this be the consequence of choosing the side entrance for the dungeon expedition?” Li Yao thought to himself, recalling that such an obstacle didn’t exist in his previous life.

Then, Li Yao realized sothing. Many dungeon entrances lead to different types of monsters. That’s why the way these side-dungeon instances form is inextricably linked to the choices made by the gars.

Li Yao turned to the wall, seeing Ancient Elven writing.

“Path of Faith”

“Priest of the Moon and Moon Guardians are attempting their first worship of the moon god at the temple. To testify to their sincerity to the moon god, they must endure the test of the path of faith.”

“The fate dice will dictate your steps. Roll the dice to decide your destiny.”

“Along the road, there may be rewards or tests. Regardless, you must first dare to leap.”

Li Yao walked towards the dice. The stage had a large elent of luck involved, which was referred to as the Moon God’s grace. But for those who didn’t believe in the Moon God, like him, rolling a good number might be more challenging.

Moreover, jumping across the towering columns might be undemanding for him, but it was indeed tough for ordinary players.

Li Yao pushed the dice, causing it to roll quickly.

After a mont, the dice slowed and stopped, a shining Ancient Elven number appeared.

Upon seeing the number, Li Yao imdiately moved towards the edge of the platform and made his jump.

Even without the boots’ effect, this sort of thing was child’s play for him, especially now that he had the boots.

Quickly, Li Yao landed on the fifth Stone Column.

“System: The Moon God has sensed your faith and has rewarded you with a silver chest.”

Li Yao noticed that a silver chest had appeared at his feet. He imdiately opened it: acquiring a Blue Equip, a Green Equip and a handful of copper coins.

The Dice of Destiny again appeared, and Li Yao took a deep breath before giving it a prod.

Li Yao surveyed the surrounding Stone Columns, as each was labelled with Ancient Elven numbers. If soone were to misread them and jump on the wrong column, it would essentially an defying the Moon God’s rules. That could lead to only one outco – death.

Li Yao landed on the eighth column, and the landscape before his eyes imdiately shifted, transporting him into a forest.

Li Yao felt an ancient aura. It was as though he had travelled back in ti to an ancient era. The surroundings were a dazzling spectacle filled with fantastical colors.

As if the whole world was vividly alive. Li Yao felt an unprecedented sense of comfort. The air seed to bear a mysterious energy that continually seeped into his pores, rapidly restoring his spiritual power, like he was soaking in a comfortable hot spring – so cozy that he wanted to drift off to sleep.

“System: Escape from the Troll Hunter for 5 minutes.”

“That traitor is here! Don’t let him escape again. Kill him!”

Li Yao saw a squadron of Trolls appear within his sight…
