The Black Dragon Queen also laughed, “Probably not, considering our fragile formations and army.”
The scene after the battle was a pile of corpses as high as a mountain. Countless demon bodies were piled at the edge of the Lava Lake, fifty thousand corpses stretching out nearly endlessly.
The Lava Lake separated the demons and magic serpents like a vast ocean, leaving them to watch helplessly, without any ans for the ti being.
Especially for the demons, the Air Ban Formation on the lake’s surface served as a clear demarcation line.
During the fierce war, they tried every ans to crack the Air Ban Formation, seeking a slim chance of survival for their remaining folks. Unfortunately, this defensive barrier was designed by the Blue Dragon Tribe that controlled the demon king, supplented and perfected by the High Elves.
This top-tier magical race’s barrier is far beyond the magical capabilities of the demon clans.
Though the magic serpents have a way, it certainly isn’t doable in a short ti.
Finally, nearly a day later, the initial battle ended, leaving only ten thousand soldiers. Under the command of the vanguard officer, they surrendered, having done all they could, while the opposite side must have gathered enough information.
There’s no aning in further sacrifice for the survivors. However, right after surrendering, the vanguard officer committed suicide.

There are even rumors of friendly ties between the top experts of demon and magic serpent clans. The ongoing hostility at the lower levels is to foster competition and prevent complacency from erasing the fierce nature embedded in their race’s blood, within the Abyss World.
Initially, they were imnsely powerful, complacent after claiming territories, leading many races to extinction. As for the slaughter and death, it is but common practice in the Abyss World.
No talk of kinship or friendship. For the lower-level demons and serpents, survival is the primary task; other matters are too extravagant, beyond even the nobility, let alone them.
There’s no talk of hatred either. This leads to the peculiar phenonon where they fight fiercely one mont, yet imdiately unite when a powerful enemy erges, a very strange occurrence.
“Master, they have likely united, the real battle might comnce tomorrow,” said the magic serpent lady.
“Hmm, let’s head back. Nothing much to see today. Keep the bugs on guard against sudden attacks. Everyone else, take a rest, tally up the rits,” Li Yao waved his hand, “As for their alliance, even better, saves the hassle of pushing back one by one.”
The next day, ten thousand elite magic serpent troops simultaneously cast spells, forming solid stones that connected both shores of the Lava Lake, as if covering the vast Lava Lake, creating an extrely wide stone bridge.
Accompanied by a desolate horn sound, the mixed formation of the demon and serpent clans from the main cities began their attack, a multitude of enemies storming across the Lava Lake like a tidal wave, engaging with the prepared players.
It was a prolonged battle, with neither side deploying their most elite nor ace units, though the allied forces clearly had the upper hand.
On the first day, the players’ army managed to keep pace; by the second day, they began slowly withdrawing.
By the third day, signs of defeat were apparent, even with the support of two Air Fortresses, notably the Drying Sun. It’s mighty for siege battles, shattering enemy morale, but the damage capacity is limited. Though holding many troops is right, it can only accommodate so many spellcasters on the deck at once.
The Void King Insect, likewise, is better at destroying enemy fortifications; now in a defensive battle, its power is significantly reduced.
It’s not that the Starfire players’ army is truly inferior to the demon and serpent alliance, just that their coordination is seamless.
Starfire’s coordination is good too, though the units are too varied. Small-scale skirmishes they can handle, but such large-scale frontal battles are lacking, especially after the enemy broke through Li Yao’s Worm Tribe frontline position.
The players’ army retreated step by step, increasingly struggling to hold on.
“Damn, these two tribes combined are too strong,” the Guardian Angel swore while retreating.
His immovable stance against the Serpent Lady’s spiritual power and penetrating hair couldn’t hold, forcing him to retreat.
“Dear, are we within range of the magic crystal cannon?”
“We are, but to avoid collateral damage, retreat another hundred yards,” Fruit Knight replied.
The magic crystal cannons on the city wall were ready to fire, the players’ army began to withdraw further.
Then the sky revealed streaks of teors.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom…
The earth trembled, small mushroom clouds rose up like a destructive storm obliterating the allied forces, making them seem as fragile as straw.
Both sides were stunned by the power of the magic crystal cannon, even Li Yao was surprised without mutation. The main city’s magic crystal cannon wasn’t this potent.
“What’s going on?” Li Yao frowned.
The Blue Dragon Queen replied calmly, “Didn’t we link to the Magic Net? The array doesn’t require that much energy, so I engraved an array below the magic crystal cannon, tapping into the Magic Network Node’s power for amplification. Though each shot consus an extra portion of magic crystal stone, the power increases by more than fifty percent.”
Li Yao’s mouth twitched, what else could he say?
The United Army was dumbfounded too, having never seen such mighty magic crystal cannons, they once again halted.
The players’ army successfully retreated from the city, leaving both sides at a stalemate once again.
“They don’t dare attack anymore; I should have opened fewer shots,” Fruit Knight lanted. Despite killing many, it wasn’t the ace units.
Originally believing the magic crystal cannon wouldn’t be decisive, he had no intent of holding back, yet the result was unexpectedly strong.
“Entering the stronghold battle is good, can capture more prisoners,” Li Yao comforted himself.
Everyone smiled wryly, given this situation, the United Army surely won’t fill in with lives. The remaining will likely battle among the elite and strongest legions.
