Chapter 1999: Chapter 1999: Inequality
The three of them were filled with shock, even now feeling a sense of disbelief.
They had endured such severe damage before, but no matter what, their equipnt was always intact.
But at this mont, their equipnt was all in tatters; to put it plainly, the durability of their equipnt had hit zero.
At least until it’s repaired, it’s ineffective. Yes, repaired, not just repaired.
Repairing is for equipnt with more than ten percent durability; if the durability is too low, it will be temporarily scrapped.
When durability hits zero, it not only affects use but, in serious cases, reduces the maximum durability and performance of the equipnt even after repair.
So, in general, players won’t let their equipnt’s durability drop below eleven percent. For the parts prone to wear, they might even carry spare equipnt.
For example, a warrior’s shield is one of the fastest parts to wear. Usually, a shield warrior will have at least five shields as spares.
For wealthier players, many of them won’t replace powerful equipnt and often have built-in repair tools.
Of course, many factors affect durability, and the quality of the equipnt also affects the wear rate of durability.
However, in the current situation, as super high-level players, their equipnt is not inferior. Going on an adventure at their level, except for so specific gear, Li Yao’s equipnt might not even be as luxurious as theirs.
So, it was almost impossible for this equipnt to have zero durability, but the impossible still happened, and it was so bizarre.
“Now I finally believe that saying: when we think our skills can match yours and then experience it firsthand, it’s just an illusion. Not only haven’t we closed the gap, but it’s beco even wider.” The leader’s face was full of bitterness. He quickly changed into a set of equipnt, but this spare set was so much worse than the original. Forget about continuing to fight Li Yao; it would be incredibly dangerous just to continue in this realm.
“You’re flattering ; it’s only that I’ve gained so insight recently. This is also the first ti I’ve used this move,” Li Yao shook his head and said. He had no interest in showing off to these people and had no objections.
It’s the sa old story: they are on completely different levels. Just like an old professor wouldn’t brag about his knowledge to an elentary school student, because the difference in levels is too vast.
The distance between the two sides may seem only a matter of rank and skills, but in reality, it’s not.
The other party becoming the leader of a Race level is a hurdle; becoming a faction level, a world level, each being more challenging than the last.
They might not know, but Li Yao knows clearly. Just these three differences are four to five years apart.
Not to ntion the spiritual power and Law, the hurdles behind are even harder.
And this is just the apparent difference; there are many other differences that cannot be ignored.
The three soon finished changing their equipnt, but Star Shine had already brought the boss’s loot to Li Yao, and the Enchantress had already taken the small box in hand.
The leader’s face was full of bitterness; after a mont of hesitation, he said, “Great Prairie Fire, no one objects to you taking the box, but for the boss’s items, we sacrificed so many people and spent two hours to kill it, you see.”
Li Yao frowned, “I overestimated you. Do you know the aning of the term ‘know when to stop’? Do you understand the saying ‘the arrow is on the string, it must go off’?”
The Mage said, “Mighty leader, we were wrong this ti, but…”
“There are no buts. I gave you a chance, you broke your promise, you say a verbal promise doesn’t count, but I insist on executing it. If I don’t intervene, then take the broken items. Since you want to overreach, then don’t expect even a taste of the soup,” Li Yao didn’t even look at the spoils at his feet and directly put them into his backpack.
The three exchanged glances, especially the Enchantress’s competitor, whose eyes were shifting.
The leader and the Mage exchanged bitter smiles, really not knowing what to say. Indeed, as Li Yao said, they were in the wrong.
The leader pondered for a while and said, “I know the mighty leader is right, but since you’re not interested in the items, why not do a good deed? Otherwise, there will always be soone unsatisfied, perhaps stirring up trouble on the forum, damaging your reputation.”
Li Yao chuckled, “I have no reputation, nor do I care. I just do what I do, regardless of what others say. And I have one more thing to tell you, which you can also pass on to others. Don’t be too greedy. With my strength, if I didn’t want to, you wouldn’t even see the boss; it would have been a wipe-out. I gave you a chance out of consideration, but you took my kindness for weakness. I can’t be bothered to argue; I’ll show you my character through actions. Take it or leave it.”
The leader and the Mage’s faces turned red; they were both prominent figures. Now that they were ridiculed like this, if there were a crack in the ground, they would have jumped in. It was incredibly embarrassing, but they had nothing to argue back with.
Besides, they barely escaped one of Li Yao’s moves; the fact that he spared them, what more could they hope for, what more could they say.
Only the Enchantress’s competitor sneered, “Great Prairie Fire, such impressive power, but I’m quite doubtful.”
Li Yao raised an eyebrow, a bit displeased, “What are you doubtful about.”
“I doubt whether you didn’t want to kill us, or maybe you just couldn’t kill us,” the Enchantress’s competitor sneered. Her figure suddenly disappeared, “I want to give it a try.”
“Impudent, I didn’t expect you to be this shaless, I really overestimated you.”
The Enchantress’s figure instantly shifted behind Li Yao, four daggers clashing together.
“Ha, the main party hasn’t even flown into a rage, and yet you couldn’t hold back first. But perhaps, if not for Prairie Fire, how could you be my opponent. The items would eventually be mine; how can you compete with ?” The Enchantress’s competitor was suprely unwilling.
In her view, the Enchantress lost her eligibility, yet effortlessly obtained the things she dread of.
She was very calculating, finding out through other ans what her ntor had prepared for them, which wasn’t just a matter of the first inheritor’s identity.
Any item inside could be a graduation item; sothing you can’t buy even if you have the money. Yet, it got so easily taken by the Enchantress; why, why is she so excellent.
She was the first to beco the ntor’s inheritor, the first to gain the ntor’s favor and learn the secrets, and continuously completed tasks for the ntor, boosting her rapport.
And yet, and yet the things that rightly belonged to her were snatched away. How could she be willing, how could she not be willing?
The Enchantress sighed, “I naturally know your unwillingness. Originally, I planned to get the item, and then we would duel to decide ownership, but who would have thought, ha.”
