Chapter 1595: Chapter 1595: Tilt
As they were talking, the Molten Mountain Dragon began to tremble.
The Molten Mountain Dragon was simply too enormous. Never mind the rising mist—even without it, with such a colossal body, unless observed from a great distance, it was impossible to make sense of what was happening.
Carrying an entire city with ease—just imagining it was hard to comprehend. Such imnse size, such furious strength. Perhaps only the Dragon Father of the Ancient Tis could surpass the Molten Mountain Dragon.
However, after so ti, the moisture on the Molten Mountain Dragon’s body had almost completely evaporated, and the mist ford by steam persisted only because of a special magic array.
But these arrays weren’t specifically designed to confine the steam; it was rely a side effect. As a result, the water vapor was dispersing rapidly.
The players’ visibility gradually improved.
Li Yao and his team had already taken cover behind a protruding boulder, and with the tremors, even the mbers of the Inkfish Guild sensed that sothing was amiss.
Rumble…!
The platform, which had been nearly flat, suddenly tilted, quickly transforming into a vertical surface.
Li Yao and his team were prepared, and the originally upright boulder beca a small platform.
Using this rock, the Starfire team swiftly activated the buff granted by the Green Dragon Princess, clinging to the rockface, which had now beco a cliff wall.
With just one tremor of the Molten Mountain Dragon, the rocky platform where Li Yao and his team stood turned into the only safe place. Of course, even without the platform, Li Yao’s team would have been fine.
Li Yao’s team got lucky—mbers of the Inkfish Guild weren’t so fortunate.
While they felt the tremors, they didn’t anticipate what would happen.
The flat ground suddenly becoming a vertical cliff caught them completely off guard.
With a series of yelps, several players plumted downward. Panicking, they scrambled to grip the protruding rocks, and so even used their weapons to look for crevices to secure themselves.
It was utter chaos. For instance, the Knight at the lowest position had managed to anchor himself with a small dagger.
After all, they were elite players. Although the situation was abrupt, their reactions were quick and precise.
But before the Paladin could regain his composure, he felt the world go dark—a hefty backside slamd down on his face.
The elasticity left no doubt—it had to be a seductive female player. Although she was competent and also considered a skilled player, she was still slower in her reactions compared to professionals.
Under normal circumstances—or in private—he might not mind “unlocking a new achievent,” but at this mont, it was life-threatening.
While the dagger was lodged in a crevice, it was not securely fixed. The Paladin was already heavy due to his suit of armor, and now, with an additional person’s weight…
The Paladin let out a miserable scream as he plumted. His bulky weight left no room for redemption. Having lost this chance, there was nothing else he could do.
He could only activate his invincible Holy Shield, but at this mont, what use was the Holy Shield? Falling into the surging seawater below spelled certain death.
As for the seductive female player, she wasn’t having a great ti either—the Paladin was wearing a helt, and only a small part of her body made actual contact with his face.
The ga’s armor and gear often featured exaggerated designs aid at looking cool—her “blossoming agony” just now truly lived up to that reputation.
Of course, nobody was in the mood to pay attention to the bloody spectacle. After the brief chaos, the seductive female player finally cast the Magician skill Demon’s Hand to hook onto a crevice and secure herself.
anwhile, Squid, the Inkfish Guild leader and a Mage, remained calm during his fall. He surveyed his surroundings and used Blink to teleport himself to a favorable spot, grabbing hold of a rock protrusion and stabilizing himself on the cliff wall.
Additionally, among their group, a Rogue utilized unparalleled flexibility and swift reflexes to avoid facing much danger.
But without exception, they had all left the protection of the Barrier. The Barrier, now above them, had been close when the ground was level, but in the vertical cliff position, climbing back would require trendous effort.
Squid, being calculating and cunning, quickly glanced at the Starfire team. Not a single mber was lost, and they appeared to be watching his team’s predicant with amused expressions.
Squid was a master of sches, always the one to manipulate others and mock them. When had he ever been the one mocked? A flicker of embarrassnt and anger flashed in his eyes.
But he quickly masked it, softening his smile even further: “Friends from Starfire, the situation is dire and unexpected. How about we temporarily join forces to find a way out of this predicant?”
Seductress coldly said, “Oh, are we friends now? That’s not what you were saying earlier.”
“Exactly. Just a mont ago, you were trying to steal our credit and laughing at us,” Tongtong mocked as well.
Squid let out an awkward laugh: “That’s just how gas are, right? One mont enemies, the next mont allies—all for the ultimate goal, isn’t it?”
“You’re not wrong,” Li Yao said, nodding with an approving smile.
“Chairman Liaoyuan is truly magnanimous,” Squid said, visibly pleased. But inwardly, he coldly sneered, mocking Li Yao’s naivety.
However, before he could relish the mont, Li Yao continued: “Everyone’s after the first kill. Temporary alliances to overco challenges are inevitable. But now, it seems your team is the only one facing danger. We’re fine. Chairman Squid, let ask you: if you were in a safe position while your competitors were in trouble, would you rescue them or take advantage of their predicant?”
Thick-skinned as he was, Squid couldn’t miss the sarcasm in Li Yao’s words. And no doubt, this was being livestread.
If he said “rescue,” it would sound false and earn him scorn from the audience. Saying “take advantage” would ruin the calculated image he worked to portray. But after this first-kill battle, his reputation as a scher was already widely known, leaving little of his facade intact.
“So, Starfire is determined to stand against us?” Squid withdrew his smile, his tone cold. “Inkfish Guild may be new, but its strength far exceeds your imagination.”
“You idiot. We’re competing for the first kill. The stronger you are, the less chance I have to let you survive,” Li Yao retorted, his expression filled with disdain.
“Why waste words on them? Big Brother, throw over there!” Tongtong swung herself on a vine.
Li Yao grabbed Tongtong’s foot and tossed her again, this ti aiming her at the seductive player on the opposing side.
At the sa ti, Seductress used vines to approach Squid.
“Looks like you’ve all chosen your playmates. I’ll take this little Rogue here—though it’s barely enough to keep entertained,” Li Yao said, releasing his vine and walking midair, stepping as if on invisible lotus petals, all while drawing his Star Bow.
The Rogue’s face turned pale—this was blatant cheating. They couldn’t even free their hands, and anwhile, soone was preparing to snipe them from afar. How was this even fair?
But as a top-tier player, surrender never ca easy. Even knowing the odds were stacked against him, he still hoped for a miracle…
