Chapter 1467: Chapter 1467: Seeking the Target
As he spoke, countless tendrils of smoke, like tree roots taking hold in the earth, invaded the twisted soul of the ancient dwarf. His soul had already been void-transford by his worship of the ancient gods, lacking any power to resist the touch of darkness, and didn’t even have the chance to react as a normal dwarf’s soul would.
Of course, unless one’s strength in life greatly surpassed Li Yao’s, there would be no resistance in the state of the soul.
Li Yao’s spirit trembled, and a vast surge of spiritual power flowed towards him. Using the Touch of Darkness, Li Yao separated the useless information and random thoughts at a speed many tis faster than watching a movie. Countless images flashed simultaneously. Fortunately, it was spiritual power; the eyes would not be able to catch up at all. Only a divine-level spiritual power like Li Yao’s could achieve this, otherwise, one could only see vague fragnts.
In Li Yao’s eyes, there were no secrets in the life of the ancient dwarf, including the fact that the Ancient Dwarf’s captain had a penchant for young won, often sneaking around at night to peep at others’ wives bathing, and even his most evil thoughts, such as dreaming of one day sleeping with the queen of Uldaman.
Of course, if it were an Ancient Elf or human, Li Yao might have been a bit interested, but he had no love for dwarves and skipped right past that.
What Li Yao focused on was the information about the fortress. Though it seed like a long ti, it actually took only three or four seconds.
Li Yao’s tendrils retracted, and the soul of the ancient dwarf had beco dull before disintegrating and disappearing into the Void.
“If you hadn’t self-destructed, your soul could have continued to exist,” Li Yao sighed. “But did you really think the ancient gods would grant you eternal life? Even if your soul didn’t dissipate now, it would have beco a source of energy for the ancient gods, constantly drained of its soul origin; the pain is indescribable. Its dissipation now is actually a rcy on my part—you don’t need to thank .”
Li Yao obtained a lot of intelligence, not only about the Magma Fortress. The ancient dwarf’s half-life gave Li Yao too much information about Uldaman, and although he wasn’t a high-ranking officer, as a Scout Leader, he knew no small amount of information. While he didn’t know many core secrets, Li Yao didn’t need to.
Li Yao waved his hand, and all the skeletons re-entered the Fra Space, then he continued into the shadows, quickly discerning his bearings and sprinting in a particular direction.
The intelligence from the ancient dwarf corroborated Li Yao’s judgnts and showed him an opportunity, so he did not hesitate.
Half an hour later, he arrived at the ruins of a battlefield.
Li Yao observed and realized that this place had indeed beco deserted. It was evident that it used to be a hidden base, likely covered by dark thorns, which Uldaman sohow discovered and besieged with a large force.
Clearly, the people here had moved on recently, just a couple of days ago.
From the shadows, Li Yao occasionally spotted ancient dwarves patrolling the area, evidently searching for any who slipped through the net, or believing that enemies were still hidden nearby, yet they found none.
Li Yao chose a high point, then unfolded his Divine Eye, quickly scanning the base. After sweeping through more than half the ruins, Li Yao frowned slightly, still unable to find anything, and began to doubt his own judgnt.
Continuing to scan the entire ruin, he still found no trace.
“Sothing’s off, could my judgnt have really been wrong? Impossible,” Li Yao muttered, stroking his chin. He had been playing for ten years, and through his own exploration and forum threads, he had learned many ways to search for quests and clues.
If he couldn’t find the other faction, there were only two ways to make contact: one was by sheer luck, waiting for them to reappear and battle Uldaman’s forces again, then joining them.
That was the safest thod, but who knows what that faction was thinking; if they didn’t show up today or tomorrow, Li Yao didn’t have the ti to wait.
The other option was to go to their battle site; there must be hidden places there. Surely, there were survivors who had not been able to escape, and through them, it was still possible to locate the new headquarters of this power.
But now, as Li Yao scanned the area, besides the limited number of Uldaman Scouts, he couldn’t discover anyone else, which was obviously not normal.
“Could it be that soone completed the random task ahead of ti? No, that can’t be it. If so, these Scouts wouldn’t be acting this way.”
Li Yao pondered for a mont and then activated his divine sight once more, this ti inspecting the ruins very carefully.
Finally, when he scanned a small house, he discovered a green shadow underneath it. If this were the outside world, it would not be strange, but this was the underground world—where would such green plants co from? It’s not that the underground world has no plants, but they are all dark colors, such as grey and dark red; green plants, at least in Uldaman, should not exist.
Li Yao quickly moved to the back of the small house and then pried open the charred and burning wooden boards; tangled vines lay beneath, which Li Yao cut through with his sickle.
Then, more green vines appeared below. Overjoyed, Li Yao swung his sickle again to continue cutting through the surrounding green vines, when suddenly a green vine without any warning entwined around his arm and yanked him down forcefully.
With Li Yao’s strength, if he were prepared, he naturally would not be pulled in by such force, but his discovery of the green color had delighted him greatly, and the swinging of his sickle was also executed with force downward.
One could only say that the timing chosen by the other party was just too perfect. Li Yao felt a darkness before his eyes, and then he entered a green world.
However, before Li Yao could even see what was happening clearly, a greenish dagger was thrust at him with lethal speed.
Li Yao’s hands were bound by the vines, and his body was still in free fall; under normal circumstances, he would not be able to make any effective counterattacks.
But Li Yao was not in a normal state now, and with his mighty spiritual power, the mont the dagger descended, his arms turned into a misty state, and as the vines fell, his arms returned to their solid form.
With a flip of his wrists, the large sickle split into two hand sickles, clashing directly against the attacker’s dagger.
“Stop, I’m not an enemy.”
Li Yao didn’t exert too much force and had no intention of attacking, rely repelling the agile figure.
“It’s not for you to decide whether you are an enemy, surrender first.”
This figure was extrely agile, like a nimble panther, and her tight-fitting leather armor accentuated her curves, not showcasing perfection but a powerful sense of beauty, her skin a tawny brown, and her appearance was that of an Ancient Elf.
Repelled by Li Yao’s dual sickles, she showed no hesitation, her body spinning to offset Li Yao’s strength and she attacked again with a tap of her toes.
This ti Li Yao used his full strength, and the fact that the opponent’s strength was on par with his own made him even more certain of his judgnt. He directly initiated the power of the Dragon Father and knocked the Ancient Elf away.
“I said, I an no harm,” Li Yao did not pursue her.
“And I said, surrender first, then we talk.
The Ancient Elf’s expression was resolute, as she invoked a strange incantation, and countless vines ca entwining over…
