Chapter 1331: Chapter 1331: The Bizarre Sideburn Hound King Chapter 1331: Chapter 1331: The Bizarre Sideburn Hound King Edward was stunned before he took a deep breath and said, “You monster, is there anything you don’t know?”
Li Yao shrugged his shoulders and replied, “Of course there is.”
“Like what?” Edward asked curiously.
“For example, whether you are wearing an undershirt on top, and whether your underwear is jujube red, I don’t know that,” Li Yao said without thinking. As soon as he finished, he realized the atmosphere had turned a bit peculiar.
Edward imdiately glared at Li Yao with murderous eyes and gritted his teeth, “Damn it, your ‘Divine Eye’ can actually see through things. If you dare look at again, I’ll fight you tooth and nail.”
“…” Li Yao wiped his nose, then watched as the Black Dragon Queen, the Flying Serpent Demon, and Edward each cast a Magic Shield on themselves, clearly intending to completely block Li Yao’s gaze.
“So tell , how did you know this was a fire giant’s? As far as I know, there are no such creatures in the main plane, and no Fire Mage can summon such a pet,” Edward finally regained his normal complexion under the protection of the Shields.
“My boy, you should read more. In the Silvermoon City Library, on the fifth floor, in the Plane Zone, you should take a good look at the book ‘Research on the Land of Flas’. It contains a detailed introduction to the formation of the Plane of the Land of Flas, a description of the Fire Elental Lord, and the various creatures that inhabit the Land of Flas,” Li Yao said.
“You’re trying to annoy on purpose, aren’t you? We can only access the first floor of the Silvermoon City Library; there’s no such thing as a Plane Zone. The higher floors are not open to us at all. You think everyone is a freak like you, capable not only of seeing but also borrowing books,” Edward said with an acidic tone, which Li Yao naturally picked up on.
“It seems you didn’t listen to very carefully,” Li Yao said helplessly: “Alright, if we’re ready, let’s start the battle. I’ll lure the monsters.”
Li Yao spread his wings and took to the sky, while the Flying Serpent Demon and the Black Dragon Queen also floated in the air, guarding multiple-headed serpents because they could fly for an extended period, and given their size, Li Yao couldn’t possibly hit any creatures while on the Hell Battle Scorpion.
The pack of mane dogs was tens of thousands of yards away from Li Yao. He nocked a Steel Arrow and kept charging it with power, then suddenly released his fingers.
Charged Arrow Infinite Range Arrow!
A dark golden stream of light streaked through the space, and the resting mane dog king’s fur bristled as if sensing the breath of death.
With a roar, a sandstorm surrounded his body, and a large number of mane dogs around him turned into streaks of gray light, rging into the storm.
Centred around the mane dog king, countless black sands and the surrounding mane dogs ford a giant Stone Ball, firmly protecting the mane dog king inside.
Pfft…
The stream of light, like a bolt of lightning, shot through the Stone Ball and plunged into the black sand. Then, a massive teor appeared in the sky, not smaller in size than the Stone Ball.
A Stone Ball enshrouded in a sandstorm and a teor surrounded by raging flas crashed into each other fiercely.
Boom, boom, boom…
The entire desert seed to tremble as teorites and stone balls exploded with a rumbling crash.
Great clumps of fiery rubble and the corpses of the fringe hounds sprayed in all directions, mixed with black sand. The fringe hound king, like a torn sack, was hurled into the air by the imnse force, and only upon landing could it be seen he had lost a hind leg.
With an enraged roar, the fringe hound king’s missing hind leg swiftly regenerated, signaled by a gray light that appeared once more among the corpses of the dead hounds.
Finally, the horde of fringe hounds beca restless. The fringe hound king surged like lightning to a dune, keenly spotting Li Yao and his party. Despite sensing the strength of Li Yao’s group and even the oppressive aura of the Dragon Clan, the fringe hound king showed no fear and let out another roar.
Thousands of fringe hounds gathered around their king and charged in the direction of Li Yao and company. Everyone but Li Yao, who wielded the Titan’s Eye, and the Black Dragon Queen could only hear the commotion and were unable to see the specifics.
Not even Li Yao knew that, with his assault on the fringe hound king and the king’s bellowing cries, from far beyond his sight, hordes of fringe hounds of varying sizes were rapidly approaching from all directions.
Li Yao landed on the Hell Battle Scorpion and said, “Prepare for battle. According to my observation, two streams of quicksand are slowly rging, and in roughly an hour and a half, they’ll fuse. We can only stay here for an hour, and if we can’t resolve this battle within that ti, we’ll be in trouble.”
The fringe hounds indeed seed to sense the presence of the quicksand; they showed no intention of stepping into the sandy area. Moreover, with the fringe hound king’s roar, they split into two groups and began their assault on Li Yao’s team from two different directions.
But the firepower from Li Yao’s side was too fierce. The multi-headed hydra, Floating Snow, severely restricted the fringe hounds’ speed, making them stagger through the snowflakes to the point of near immobility. The hydra’s different heads utilized various skills and magic, while in the rear, the Black Dragon Queen and the Wyvern Fiend provided magical support. In the sky, Star Shine and the young dragon, Little Savage—one a Royal Griffin, the other a young dragon—either cast spells or dive-bombed into the fray with great gusto.
On another front, the Spider Tank, Death God 4000, and the Fire Giant ford a defensive line, with the Fire Eagle scattering flaming feathers above and Edward mastering fire magic on the ground.
And Li Yao, wielding the Star Bow, was extraordinary. Each attack was accompanied by a falling teor, creating trendous impact and causing astonishing damage. Even the alpha fringe hounds would be left crippled if hit by a teor.
If it weren’t for the fringe hounds’ ability to absorb the dark power from the black sand, allowing them to recover quickly if not instantly killed, the five thousand fringe hounds would barely be enough to slay.
Even so, Edward was very optimistic, casting spells and saying, “You were already a freak, and now with such an overpowered weapon, I don’t know why we’re bothering to defend. If we had charged straight in from the start, we could have wiped out the pack. And that’s without you even using your buffs or going all out, which would be even more ridiculous.”
Li Yao continued to shoot arrows at a leisurely pace and replied, “You’re oversimplifying it. Use your divine sight and take a look into the distance.”
Edward, startled, activated her divine vision and her sight expanded greatly. Her face changed color as she said, “Damn, there are even more fringe hounds coming as reinforcents.”
Li Yao chuckled. “No joke, this is a large-scale secret realm. It often requires exploration by more than ten teams of a hundred. It would be strange if there were a few fringe hounds.”
In truth, Li Yao hadn’t found the secret realm to be very challenging, and his cautious plan was just part of his usual prudence. Looking at the situation now, it seed that caution had indeed been necessary.
From all around, countless fringe hounds were rallying to reinforce, and even more could be coming from places beyond sight. No one knew just how many fringe hounds this desert held; without this terrain, their predicant would have been dire.
They might have had imnse killing power, but most of these fringe hounds were warcrafts, and being creatures that could utilize the black sand and so peculiar magic energy, they weren’t so easy to slay…
