Chapter 1319: Chapter 1319: Abyssal Demon Chapter 1319: Chapter 1319: Abyssal Demon Li Yao was quite satisfied with the shock on the other people’s faces, and nodded approvingly. If he encountered opponents with lesser strength, the sheer brutish force he possessed could, with specialized heavy weaponry, sweep through legions with ease.
He rembered in his previous life that among the quasi-god players in the Divine Enthronent competition, there was a Hercules. At first, that Hercules was not well-known. It was said he was an ordinary player who had gone unnoticed, and his strength did not co from gaining any brutish power through luck.
His profession was Mountain Warrior, and with his brute strength, he made it to the quasi-god level. In the battles for Divine Enthronent, he shone brightly.
He blazed through opponents, be they gods or buddhas. Countless quasi-god level players were eliminated by him.
But such actions also provoked public anger and besiegent. Of course, every player who achieved godhood was no less competent than him, including Li Yao at the ti. Similarly to Li Yao, his foundations were shallow, but his fate was even worse—he was surrounded and eliminated.
Besides, Li Yao had simply considered strength as one thod among many, and did not plan on relying solely on brute force for combat. While powerful, brute force could sweep through legions, using heavy weapons would impact his agility. Facing nimble and versatile adversaries would be hugely disadvantageous if they avoided direct clashes.
This was especially true when facing the coordinated attacks of a player team. Experienced and formidable teams could often lead to an unfavorable outco.
During the battles for Divine Enthronent, Li Yao’s strength was not outstanding. When besieged, his Hunter agility and the special Hunter mysteries allowed him to weave in and out of the encirclent, even making a fool of the opposition.
Even though that Hercules, once entangled, slaughtered countless, he faced a never-ending siege. In the end, no matter how extraordinary one’s abilities were, every player that reached quasi-god level had their unique strengths and were eventually overwheld.
The Hercules had the ability to achieve Divine Enthronent but was defeated in the siege. Li Yao’s failure to succeed was due to poor foundations—these were two different matters.
For Li Yao, becoming a humanoid Savage Dragon was rely another tactic in his arsenal and not sothing he would co to depend on. The sa held true for his Star Bow; he would not over-rely on it. Close combat or ranged, brute force or agility—being versatile was the key to remaining undefeated.
These were the jumbled thoughts that flickered in Li Yao’s mind as he watched the beast tar, who had just leapt off the Flaming Lion, cast an almost imperceptible incantation. The beast tar’s determination was clear; despite his shock at Li Yao’s performance, he had not given up and was continuing to summon pets.
As the light flickered, a pack of Demon Wolves with glowing red eyes materialized. Although each Demon Wolf’s attributes and combat power were not as strong as humans or the other three pets, wolves always hunted in packs.
As the incantations ended, more than twenty Demon Wolves appeared in the Gladiator Arena, encircling Li Yao.
Li Yao stood in the largest open space in the Gladiator Arena, devoid of Stone Columns. Although the Warhamr affected his agility to so extent, the impact was within his tolerance level.
“Pack tactics, not bad at all. The only pity is that the number of these Demon Wolves is a bit too small.”
The Demon Wolves imdiately launched their attack, while Li Yao maneuvered and flipped with agility. With each swing of his Warhamr, he produced a mournful whistle, sending any Demon Wolf he struck flying.
In just thirty seconds, all of the Demon Wolves were slaughtered by Li Yao, their broken bodies scattered across the Gladiator Arena.
So of the Demon Wolves weren’t killed, but they had lost the ability to fight on. Li Yao’s strikes were not particularly high in damage, but his strength was so excessive that just one hit inflicted injury, a hamr blow ant certain death.
Even the Flaming Lion, while attempting to take advantage of the situation to attack Li Yao, had its hind leg struck by the Warhamr. Now, the Flaming Lion lay in front of the beast tar, a facefull of pain evident, its hind leg grotesquely twisted from a severe fracture, leaving it with hardly any combat ability until healed.
“Do you still wish to struggle in vain?” Li Yao approached the beast tar calmly.
“Do you really think you’ve secured the victory?” the beast tar’s voice was hoarse, as though enduring so pain. “Just now was nothing but a delay. Now is the ti to decide the victor.”
Beneath the beast tar’s feet, crystals were arranged in different directions, twinkling with a mysterious glow, and a strange aura started to spread.
Li Yao narrowed his eyes slightly and let out a chuckle, “I didn’t expect anyone to have mastered arrays, let alone a twisted magic summoning array that augnts oneself. This aura seems to be linked to the Abyss—yes, with black mist swirling around, it must be coming from the Demon Refining Land.”
“You do have so insight, but it’s too late for you to realize it now.”
Roar…
The beast tar hadn’t finished his words when he let out an earth-shaking bellow. Imdiately, endless black vapor rged into the beast tar’s body, followed by his body starting to twist and swell wildly. Masses of black fur grew, and his face distorted furiously.
In the blink of an eye, the beast tar had inflated to the height of six or seven yards, resembling a two-story building, which was already enormous for a human.
“It seems your skill isn’t quite there yet; you’ve actually summoned the soul of the Demon Ape to fuse with. I’m afraid your consciousness is already muddled by now, too bad…”
The Demon Ape suddenly opened its blood-red eyes and said in a blurry voice, “Kill, kill, kill!”
The faces of the spectators and the other two competitors didn’t look good either. The fact that the beast tar could summon so many pets was already troubleso, not to ntion that he could transform himself. If it weren’t for the pressure from that Divine Guard, he probably wouldn’t be willing to reveal his trump cards, and he might have been able to claim the title of the king of the Gladiator Arena with this formidable ability.
The Abyssal Demon Ape—other places in the God’s Main Position might not be very familiar with it, but here, they worshipped one of the sovereigns of the Abyss. They were not at all unfamiliar with the Abyss; the Gladiator Arena had even seen a Demon Ape before. That Demon Ape had been imnsely strong, bloodthirsty, and ferocious; no one could challenge it successfully.
Although Li Yao said it was too bad, clearly everyone thought Li Yao wouldn’t be able to defeat the Demon Ape.
Especially the other two competitors, who now hoped for the Divine Guard to be strong enough; otherwise, if the beast tar killed him, they would no longer have a chance.
Boom…
The Demon Ape leaped out furiously, its fists tainted with black vapor, aiming straight for Li Yao’s head.
“Do all apes have only one move, you idiots?”
Li Yao didn’t show any sign of dodging, still using the sa hamring motion.
Crack…
First ca the clear sound of bones breaking, followed by a thunderous howl. The body of the Demon Ape flew backward like an artillery shell, while Li Yao took a few steps back as well.
Rumble…
An Ember Lion pounced forward, trying to intercept the Demon Ape, only to be knocked aside, suffering the sa fate as the leopard earlier. But the Demon Ape, clearly much stronger than the original azure gorilla, struggled to try and get back up to fight.
anwhile, Li Yao, who had stepped back, didn’t stop his action. With his warhamr spinning, accompanied by a piercing whistle, the chain extended and the gigantic Pumpkin Hamr landed on the struggling, trying-to-rise head of the black gorilla…
