Chapter 1227: Chapter 127: Conflict Chapter 1227: Chapter 127: Conflict “Captain.”
“Captain.”
Seeing Li Yao arrive, the team mbers all respectfully saluted him.
Although Li Yao trained with them infrequently, during this period, he had won their respect through his absolute strength. Li Yao had absolute authority within this squad.
Li Yao nodded, “It seems everyone is prepared, a total of thirty-eight people, all follow to board. It’s almost ti for the passengers to board.”
“Yes,” everyone saluted.
Li Yao again led the way toward a passageway.
Devil Ring, a dium-sized star battleship, was an extrely massive entity and could be considered a huge flagship.
Operating this ship itself required hundreds of people, and the combat mode even required thousands. The standing legion included a thousand fleet guards, three hundred star fighters, and a thousand ch warriors.
The warship was divided into several tiers, and the areas accessible to passengers comprised two tiers. One tier was a rest area, while the other housed various facilities, including areas for leisure, entertainnt, exercise, and socializing.
One could imagine the enormity of this warship, and Li Yao’s squad was responsible for maintaining order and safety in these two areas.
Li Yao and his team then greeted the captain at the entrance, a young and capable female captain with the sa military rank as Li Yao, both colonels. Nevertheless, on this warship, Li Yao temporarily had to comply with her arrangents.
The captain stamped their paperwork, and Li Yao and his team could officially board the warship.
As Li Yao was about to leave, he heard the female captain’s voice from behind him, “Colonel Li Yao, I believe you are clear about the objective of this mission, I hope your new ch squadron displays remarkable performance.”
“Thank you, Captain,” Li Yao smiled slightly and went on his way.
The female captain watched his back, smiled faintly, and murmured softly, “I wonder if he truly didn’t recognize who I am, Prairie Fire.”
Once on board the warship, everyone was very excited. They discussed the warship in hushed tones, and Li Yao also looked around. He had boarded warships before, but only outdated ones displayed in museums. It was his first ti on an actively serving real warship.
In fact, their task was not as heavy as imagined. Specific matters were handled by the fleet’s stewardesses, who were the new generation of cabin crew.
“A bunch of country bumpkins, just the new ch squadron, disappointing by just the rumors, even more disappointing in person,” a rugged voice reached everyone’s ears.
Everyone’s expressions changed, all turning toward the source of the sound. The speakers were also a squad, all muscular and large in stature with sharp eyes, clearly military personnel.
“Mangniu, you said it yourself, they’re country bumpkins. It’s natural for them to be excited on their first boarding,” another voice followed, prompting laughter from his squad.
The female adjutant leading Li Yao and his team to their area frowned slightly, “Captain Teng She, please watch your words, and this is not your area. I will report this matter to the captain.”
Teng She laughed nonchalantly, “We were just heading to the ch hangar, rely passing by. Besides, Mangniu isn’t wrong, right? The new chs are garbage enough, let alone this rabble.”
The new ch team’s faces changed, and they imdiately began arguing back.
“Enough,” Li Yao barked sharply, “You’re supposed to be soldiers too, is it interesting to argue with a bunch of idiots?”
The adjutant, who initially thought Li Yao understood the bigger picture, was rendered speechless by his comnt.
The mbers of the New ch Squad all fell silent, knowing that no one dared to contradict Li Yao’s words.
Teng She gave Li Yao a cold glance, “New ch Squad, huh? I think you’d better disembark, lest you bring disgrace upon us humans.”
“Just show the transfer order, and we will leave imdiately. Do you have it?” Li Yao’s tone also cooled. He had heard in his previous life how soldiers in old chs extrely despised the new chs and had even made the news, but he hadn’t expected such blatant hostility.
“Heh, truly overestimating yourselves.”
They slowly approached each other, while Li Yao also led his team towards them. The two teams seed to linger on opposite sides of the corridor without interfering with each other, but in reality, no one dared to truly start a fight on the warship, for that would lead to punishnt.
However, as the two teams neared, a fierce glint flashed in the eyes of Iron Tower, a hulking brute, who evidently aid to collide with Li Yao.
Everyone’s expression changed; the soldiers in old chs, each incredibly robust and skilled in battle, dwarfed the comparably slight Li Yao in front of Iron Tower.
“Captain, be careful.”
“Iron Tower, how dare you!” The female deputy also changed her expression, but it was already too late.
“Ahh, Colonel Li Yao, how careless of you to walk. Sorry for bumping into you, uh…”
Everyone then saw a layer of light appear on Li Yao, and their shoulders collided.
Crack, crack, crack…
Following the crisp sounds of breaking bones, Iron Tower’s bravado ceased abruptly, everyone then saw Iron Tower flying backwards, crashing into the corridor wall and sweat beading large on his forehead.
Li Yao, as if nothing had happened, approached Iron Tower in surprise, helping him up and saying, “I am truly sorry, but it was an accident. However, seeing how burly you are, it’s surprising you’re like sothing made of paper. Are you alright?”
Iron Tower stared at Li Yao with eyes full of disbelief and pain, yet clenched his teeth without making a sound.
“Thank you for your concern, Colonel, it’s nothing serious, I’ve got this,” Teng She, sensing sothing was off, quickly took Iron Tower from Li Yao’s hands.
Li Yao nodded, full of apologies, “I didn’t expect this, shall we take him to the infirmary?”
“That won’t be necessary, Colonel. It’s almost ti for the passengers to board, you should attend to your own matters. Iron Tower here is just suffering food poisoning, it has nothing to do with you,” Teng She said.
“Then you guys better be more careful in the future. If you can’t even walk steadily, how can you pilot a ch?” Li Yao politely said, then led his team away.
After Li Yao and his team had left, the others clustered around Iron Tower, inquiring after his condition, disbelieving that Li Yao, with such a slight build, could overco the towering Iron Tower.
“Enough, stop arguing. Look at this,” Teng She rolled up Iron Tower’s sleeve.
They then saw a clear handprint at the spot where Li Yao had held, his entire arm swollen, the crowd gasped, amazed at the sheer force it must have taken, they were well aware of Iron Tower’s bodily strength and power, being purely a match for two of them combined.
“It seems the New chs aren’t as weak as we thought. Did you not notice? At the mont of the collision, a semi-transparent mbrane appeared on the opponent’s shoulder, likely a part of the New ch summoned. Iron Tower’s shoulder blade must have fractured, then the arm that Li Yao held also called forth the ch, taking control of Iron Tower.”
Everyone fell silent; just this feature alone was beyond what the old chs could compare with. Without their chs, their combat abilities were limited, but the new chs could be summoned to cover the body at any ti.
For Li Yao, this was rely a minor episode, they eventually reached the area they were assigned to, as the passengers began to board the ship one after another…
