Chapter 286 Slting
Lei Zhen felt as if multiple knives had appeared out of nowhere and stabbed his heart nurous tis.
How was it possible that all of them would throw him under the bus without hesitation?
And even Candice- soone that referred to him as Master had thrown him under the bus as well.
"What is this blasphemy?" Lei Zhen exclaid in shock.
However, while he was in a daze, all of the won were already near the exit door as they waved goodbye to him.
"Good luck, Lei Zhen. Make sure to assist Smither Gary in every way. Otherwise, you're going to be responsible if there are any mishaps." The won collectively said and seemingly threatened Lei Zhen of what would happen if he failed to please Smither Gary.
As all the won left, Lei Zhen was in complete disbelief that he was straight-up abandoned in such a manner.
Though he barely had the ti to wonder why he was abandoned when he felt a cold chill emitting from behind.
Turning his head to the back slowly, Lei Zhen witnessed a wicked grin from Smither Gary.
"Oh, how's the table turned, right little brat?" Smither Gary said deviously, almost as if he was a creep that had just captured a prey into his mini-dungeon.
Lei Zhen smiled awkwardly as he slowly retreated a few steps backward. "We're all gentlen here, so let's not do anything extre."
"Extre? That's not in my vocabulary, little brat." Smither Gary snorted coldly.
"Don't go too far, Smither Gary. If I happen to be in any harm's way, then Candice wouldn't forgive you. Not to ntion, Mistress Doreah who could possess Candice's body."
"Hmph, do I look like a petty man like you?" Smither Gary suddenly said and pointed at a shelf.
"Those are all the tals required for the Bolten artifact. So you're going to be spending the entire day, slting those tals into liquid form."
"..."
Turning his attention toward the shelf that Smither Gary pointed at, Lei Zhen wanted to curse him. The shelf wasn't any ordinary shelf, but one that a massive library would use to store tons of books.
"How many tals are there?" Lei Zhen exclaid in shock, feeling like a heavy boulder had just squashed his back.
"Not much, just about five thousand or so tals." Smither Gary placed his hands on his hips and laughed heartily.
And he continued, "Oh by the way, each of these tal lting points is extrely high, and you must be extrely close to the fire because you'll need to control the temperature of the fire. Otherwise, the tals might not be condensed into liquid form properly and might have impurities, resulting in the crafting process having so defect."
Hearing the long-winded explanation, Lei Zhen knew he was definitely spouting nonsense, but what could he do?
Smither Gary was the expert and he could not find any evidence that his words might be nonsense. Henceforth, if Smither Gary goes on to complain about his work, then the won might truly gang up together to torture him.
'Had I known the situation would turn into this, then I would have simply brought Candice along only. This is a complete blunder.' Lei Zhen clicked his tongue and started lifting up his sleeves.
Afterward, he slowly lifted the tals, and to his dismay, each tal weighed extrely heavy, causing him to feel like he was at the gym, doing multiple weight lifting.
"Careful there, little brat. Don't strain your muscles in the process as an excuse to escape working." Smither Gary taunted and went toward the backroom.
And as much as Lei Zhen wanted to beat him up, there was not much he could do. The only way to escape this work was to hurry up and finish slting all the required tals.
Carrying the tals near the large furnace, Lei Zhen started to grab a rusty bucket and dumped all the tals into it. Afterward, he used a tool to push the rusty bucket into the fire, heating up the tals.
However, the tals took a long ti before they slowly slted into liquid form. Each tal slting process took nearly 10 to 15 minutes, and Lei Zhen was already sweating from the intense heat.
The heat was so intense that he was already at the point where he had taken off most of his upper clothes and revealed his bare chest.
"This Smither Gary is truly getting revenge on . How can a newbie possibly withstand such heat?" Lei Zhen cursed loudly, deliberately making sure that he would hear his voice.
Ti slowly passed by, and Lei Zhen only managed to slt around 200-300 tals.
The reason?
Since Smither Gary hadn't co out of the backroom the entire ti, the slted tals soon returned to their original state, forcing him to re-slt them constantly.
Finally tired himself out, Lei Zhen plopped to the ground, wiping so of the sweat on his forehead.
"Smither Gary, if you're not planning on coming out to use the slted tals, then what was the point of telling to slt them from the get-go?" Lei Zhen could no longer take it and shouted at the top of his lungs.
A few minutes later, Smither Gary walked out of the backroom with a disappointed look.
"What a weak little brat you are!" He snorted coldly and glanced at the pile of slted tals.
"The Bolten Artifact required a ton of tals and this was all you could produce after all this ti? No wonder why you resort to sches. It's because you have no skills yourself and tried to deceive talented people to work for you." Smither Gary added, pulling zero punches back in his insult.
"If you say it like that, then please demonstrate an example." Lei Zhen extended his hand and said, clearly wanting to see him suffer like he did.
"And what if I can do it?" Smither Gary curved his lips upward and asked, seemingly ready to make a bet with Lei Zhen.
