The unnad head chef helped Ruby with making her pies, all the while trying to get her to let him go. But it was a futile attempt. When Ruby grew bored of making pies, she pulled out a whip and started to whip this spy for fun, wanting to see just how long he could live without any skin on his body.

But Ruby would not kill him yet. After all, who would continue to teach her how to cook for her master Fate?

*Whip*

"Ahh"

"Whip it good!"

"Ahh, please have rcy!"

Ruby smiled and said, "Say what? I can’t hear you?"

*Whip*

"Ahh"

"Whip it everywhere!"

*Whip*

"Ahhh"

"Whip it good!"

*Whip*

"Ahh"

Ruby always enjoyed singing a good "Whip It" song while she tortured soone. She found that the sound of music really enhanced the suffering of her captive audience. They got a little taste of her heavenly voice while she gave them a taste of hell.

After her refreshing beating, Ruby left the kitchens to be cleaned up by others. She then went to issue orders to Shadow about kidnapping a few rchants and dwarves so they could be persuaded to join Phoenix Rising of their own free will.

Then, both Ruby and Shadow returned to the underground necropolis, the base of Phoenix Rising. Ruby Valentine looked at all of the undead that were showing up to serve them as servants. This was sothing she achieved with her own power, gifted from the immortal Phoenix.

Ruby can not die, but she can not bring others completely back to life like her master Fate either. What she can do, though, is create vast legions of undead—not just human undead. Digging up this base has revealed the bones of many long-dead and forgotten monsters. The world of Vale is burdened with the presence of monsters, many of which humans and the other races of this world have to exterminate on a regular basis.

Ruby Valentine is growing fascinated with the idea of raising an army of undead monsters to accompany the Fire Legion. These monsters’ corpses are very good at digging massive tunnels. Now, under the city of Valoria, there exists an even bigger city filled with thousands of beggars and animal corpses training and being equipped for battle.

The Blood Maidens have had a massive influx of extrely attractive new recruits as well. Shadow has taken charge of the new recruits. Looking at the reports in her hand about their growing forces, Ruby looked at Shadow and said,

"Shadow, let’s call the growing army of undead monsters the Corpse Core. Have them leave the city under the cover of night and begin to clear out the surrounding roads of monsters and bandits. If they see the soldiers of Fate’s subordinate nobles, take them out as well. But leave our people and civilians alone. This will make the flow of comrce into the Southern Hampshire Plains even better. Next, send so agents to get their hands on so dwarves and rchants who know how to make golems and those shields that the rchant nation Hildegard uses for their cities and castle defense. When we convince these new mbers to join us, their secrets will be ours."

Shadow left to carry out her orders, all while Fate lounged around Shadow Spire Citadel, having no idea that his territory, The Southern Hampshire Plains, was quickly becoming the safest place to travel in the kingdom of Westridge.

After taking care of the troubleso task of spending money, Fate looked around his Citadel. When did his ho beco so quiet?

Then it occurred to him that he was alone in the Shadow Spire Citadel for the first ti. This could only an one thing.

That’s right—the extrely paranoid and prepared Fate Grimsever knew that, at this mont, the world of Vale was targeting him again just like it did with his carriage. This was, without a doubt, an enemy attack with assassins.

But how could Fate Grimsever not be prepared for such an event?
