Chapter 1026: Unending Spear Barrage
Collins stood without a word; he did not roar in anger, he did not shout or make any outward display of fury, yet one could see, one did not need to be told, that a single glance at his face and eyes would be enough for anyone to understand that Collins was seething with an intense, suffocating rage.
But as a seasoned warrior, one who had endured countless battles, one who had even witnessed his wife stand at the very brink of death, he did not allow that anger to consu him; he did not let it blind him or push him into acting rashly, for that was the number one mistake any warrior could make, and he was not going to make that kind of mistake, not now, not ever, not when the stakes were this high and consequences he couldn’t handle.
His black eyes tore past every Eleven Winged Angel present, his gaze rising toward the void above, stretching across a distance of several millions of kilotres, as he stared at the Twelve Winged Angel who floated as though the very Universe itself bowed in reverence to his existence, his presence imposing, sovereign, and utterly oppressive.
A flash of fleeting thought passed through Collins’ eyes for a mont; he knew about the Twelve Winged Angels, it was part of the information they had extracted and carefully discussed during their prior eting, knowledge that had seed distant and theoretical at the ti, but now stood before him as an undeniable and overwhelming reality.
Collins did not even want to estimate the amount of power a single Twelve Winged Angel possessed; the very idea felt absurd and beyond reason. To him, the issue here was not the eight Eleven Winged Angels, no, he had taken a significant step further along his path of cultivation after the invasion by the Angels, so as things stood, he could fight multiple numbers of them with relative ease, his confidence not born from arrogance, but from proven strength and experience.
Collins did not know if his power had risen to the level of a Twelve Winged Angel after his recent breakthrough; he was not entirely sure, and uncertainty in a battle like this could prove fatal. Besides, he was not simply fighting for himself, he also had to protect his wife, Irene; after all, any intelligent enemy would undoubtedly target her during the battle, as she was clearly his only weakness for the duration of the impending confrontation, the one factor that could be exploited against him.
The Twelve Winged Angel stared at Collins, his gaze carrying the weight of chilling indifference, as though he were looking upon an insignificant ant; he could not be bothered to speak to a lesser being, for to him, two ants were no different from one, it rely ant there were more insignificant lives to extinguish, more trivial existences to erase without thought or hesitation.
’How are they even here?’ Collins thought, a thread of rationality cutting through the storm of anger within his mind. They had all seen Aura Nova close all three Tears in Reality, so their presence here seed... impossible. But then again, nothing was ever truly impossible within their understanding of existence.
’But if they had opened another Tear in Reality, we should have known,’ Collins’ thoughts continued to churn and spiral, attempting to make sense of the situation, but in the very next mont, he forcefully shoved the thought aside for the ti being; he would simply share the information when he returned, and let others deal with it while he spent ti with his wife, prioritizing what truly mattered in the face of uncertainty.
"Wipe them out!" the Twelve Winged Angel ordered, his voice carrying an authoritative tone that reverberated with command.
And without hesitation, the eight Angels tore forward through the vast cosmic space, their speed far surpassing what they had displayed when they fought Irene earlier. Collins did not speak, nor did he panic; with a re thought, his mana flowed outward smoothly and precisely, enveloping Irene within a protective cocoon of Lightning.
Within that sa mont, the first attack reached Collins, a sword screaming downward with lethal intent, aiming to rip him in half from head to waist, but the instant the blade made contact, Collins’ body seed to alter its very properties, transforming into nothing but pure lightning as he phased effortlessly through the attack, untouched and unscathed.
Another attack closed in imdiately after, yet he phased through it just as easily, without even taking a single step forward or backward. The remaining six Angels reacted instantly, coating their weapons in Faith Energy before launching another coordinated assault, but it made no difference; every physical attack passed through him as though he did not exist in that mont, as though he had beco sothing untouchable, sothing beyond the reach of conventional strikes.
But before they could even register what was happening, their senses scread violently at them, a deathly sensation flooding their spines, hearts, and entire bodies as their blood ran cold with instinctive terror. Without daring to remain in the sa position, the six of them vanished from where they stood in a split second, their bodies turning into blurs as their massive wings flapped powerfully, propelling them away in desperate evasion.
The mont they moved, a barrage of white Lightning pillars tore down from the heavens above, ripping through the very fabric of space at the location they had just occupied, descending with apocalyptic force and overwhelming madness. The star they had once stood upon shattered instantly upon impact, a titanic stellar explosion erupting outward with all-consuming energy and destructive power, threatening to swallow Irene and Collins whole while surging outward toward the remaining Angels, but they all swerved away just in ti, narrowly avoiding annihilation.
The cosmic dust and churning storm gradually receded, revealing Collins’ figure once more, his body returning into clear view, with Irene still encased safely within the cocoon of Lightning, untouched by the devastation that had just unfolded.
Mana rumbled violently from Collins’ body, the very space around him screaming under the sheer pressure of the potent energy he was releasing, and without wasting even a single mont, he cast another spell, his intent sharp and lethal.
[Lightning Magic: Mana Zone: Unending Spear Barrage]
A vast magical circle of Lightning magic materialized above the battlefield, its breadth seemingly endless, stretching across the expanse as though it had no boundaries. The Angels’ heads snapped upward as their senses detected the surrounding mana responding to Collins’ will and precise control, bending and shaping itself in accordance with his command.
In the next mont, the heavens were flooded, filled with an uncountable number of pure white Lightning spears, each one radiating a terrifying intensity, each one appearing capable of tearing through reality itself as though it were nothing more than fragile fabric.
With a single thought from Collins, the attack surged forward at a speed that rivaled teleportation itself, as though the spears were swimming seamlessly through space, thereby amplifying their velocity and montum to an incomprehensible degree.
The Angels did not remain idle; they reacted instantly, their wings flaring as Faith Energy surged through their forms, and with an explosive burst of force, they vanished from their positions with absurd speed, their bodies flickering through the air as they refused to allow even a single spear to make contact.
But the mont they evaded, the spears followed relentlessly, tracking them with deadly precision. In the next instant, each of them unleashed their own ans of resistance, skills, abilities, techniques, artefacts, all erupting outward in brilliant flashes as they clashed head-on with the incoming assault.
The battlefield transford into a chaotic tapestry of explosions, colors, destructive beauty, and unrestrained madness, as space shattered, reality fractured, and the void itself seed to peel back into higher layers of existence.
Collins had no intention of fighting the Angels one by one; he would face all of them at once, overwhelming them entirely. He was a mage, and he possessed more than enough mana to descend into an unending rampage, one that would not cease until every enemy before him had been utterly erased from existence.
