"So why we are here exactly ?" Yuta asked as he looked around the place. Currently, he ca with Maki to a particular underground train station for so reason.

For the last few days, he was getting along with the girl pretty well, enough that their earlier dispute was all forgotten.

"There are many second and third-grade curse spirits lingering in here. Currently, we don't have many people to handle this low-level task and that's why you are here with ." Maki replies as she walks inside the station with her tight-fitted Jujutsu uniform tugging on her curves.

Yuta was building up resistance now from getting distracted by those but it was still a work in progress.

Mainly he can do this because the girl herself doesn't mind much. For Maki Zenin, power and destroying her family, co first and not romance or her womanly charms.

Maki too was getting just used to Yuta's staring at her like this. The boy clearly just admired them and didn't do anything more so she didn't have any problem.

"No, what I an is why the unusual pair. I thought that we work in a team like the first year or the second year." Yuta asked, not getting how the teams are arranged.

"Usually yes, but in tis like this, when we are understaffed, we just don't have the luxury to send any entire team on small missions. From my team both Panda and Toge have moved out and when upon getting this mission, just could have only asked you or gumi."

"I see."

Yuta nodded, not even questioning why chose him over gumi.

"Hey, I wanted to talk with you all this ti. But didn't find the right ti to do so." Maki suddenly spoke up.

Not even looking at him as she was walking ahead of him, swaying her hips but the tone alone brought back Yuta's attention to Maki's voice from her ass.

There was a sober tone to it.

"Yeah, sure. What you wanna say."

"You asked back then why I wasn't using Curse Energy or my own Curse Technique, right?

Before a fight broke out here, I had to tell you.

I didn't use it because I don't have it." Maki all this ti kept on looking forward, not looking back at Yuta.

"Oh, that's why you are so good at hand-to-hand combat. Good.

At least now I can take a little solemn at the fact I was getting my ass kicked by you all this ti." Yuta replied with a little laughing tone.

This wasn't the kind of response Maki was expecting.

She contemplated and didn't say anything for a while before finally opening her mouth. "Are you okay with that? You understand why that ans right." Maki asked.

"Hmm yeah, you can't use Curse powers and rather do close combat fighting with weapons. Isn't that all ?" Yuta acted as if he didn't see the problem at all.

"No, you don't get it. The curse technique is almost everything in the Jujutsu world. Without the curse energy, a person can't even see the curses. Without that a person's power is limited. They are dood to be diocre." Maki had heard these words all the ti. And though she herself never wanted to believe in this she too had to accept the reality to so degree.

Without CE and a curse technique, no matter how much she trains herself, it's almost impossible to reach a higher grade level.

All she has right now is her curse tools.

"Hmm really,

I don't think so. Although I really want to ask how you see Curse Spirits now hearing you I can feel that this matters a lot to you. My best bet that you hate for your family and this is sohow is connected.

Well, let answer that first then.

NO. I don't believe that Curse Technique or Energy is the be-all and end-all. I an just look at you, Maki.

All this ti I could only see a badass girl with sexy legs, scary eyes and tons of family problems."

And though Maki was still not facing him, he could feel a tick mark forming on her face.

"But after knowing that you don't have curse energy. I can't help but admire that you trying to gap that up with training hard and learning how to use curse weapons.

You are no longer just a badass girl with sexy legs, scary eyes and tons of family problems anymore.

Now you are the badass girl with sexy legs, scary eyes and tons of family problems who has much to prove that she is much more than so stupid by-product of a gene lottery which will define how powerful she could be by being born with a certain Curse Technique or a certain amount of Curse Energy. " Yuta said that with all passion.

He ant it, becuase in terms of quirk, he has gone through sothing similar. He at least had her Grand Ma.

She had no one.

"You really think that," Maki asked with a little low tone.

"Of course, you are making those people who depend too much on their innate Curse Technique or are born with huge amounts of Curse Energy, look like idiots." Yuta smiled.

"But to what level, it's true that I won't be able to reach their level. Without curse energy... what chance do I have to beat them."

Maki asked though it wasn't a question but more like stating her own situation.

Yuta heard this and felt familiar. A genuine smile spread on his face as he said.

"Why do you even have to beat them?

Is beating them your goal? ???" Yuta asked making Maki confused for a second.

Before she could say anything, Yuta spoke first cutting her off.

"I don't think so. If it was just beating them then there are other ways.

Your goal at least what I think is to establish yourself as soone who is not inferior to those who have put you down all this ti. To show them that you are not what they think.

If that is the only goal then just focus on that. You don't need a lot of power, just have enough to complete that goal. If you can't that enough then learn how to do survive and complete your goal with minimum power.

Like killing a second-grade curse spirit for instance. Others will use their curse technique, but that doesn't an that you can't use a shotgun. Just adapt and focus on your goals. There is nothing more to it.

And here is sothing a person once said as I too was in the sa boat as you are right now. Maybe this will help." Yuta said and Maki who wasn't facing Yuta all this ti finally turned back.

Her eyes glared at Yuta, but she was eagerly waiting for what he had to say.

"Though the context was different let try to put this here.

Real success is not when you are given the wings to fly or you descend from the sky.

Real success ans when a person has crawled out of the very dirth we all are born in and stand on top of everyone.

Behind a successful man or a woman, it's not the wings which they fly with but a bullied back with the sa or even deeper wound than our own.

And when those people find success, they are no longer just people. They turn into an idea.

An idea which gives hope to countless other people like them that it's possible to achieve the impossible." Yuta said what his grandma told to him. A smile on his face.

Maki just listened to this with a straight face and just turned around before starting to talk.

"You got good talking skills." What was the only thing she said, though now finally there was a smile on her face?

At least you felt that she had one.

"Yes, that is another kind of power I built for myself when I felt I didn't have enough.

Powers don't have to be only one thing.

Everything can be your power, your decision-making, your friends who believe in you and help you with your needs, your ambition and your hard work. Everything.

Curse power is just one aspect of it, so don't let that define your future."

"Jeez, I get it. I don't need more motivation okay." Maki said and this ti Yuta could say for certain that she was smiling.

"Hey."

"Hmm"

"Thank you."

"Hmm... For what"

"You know what."
