"What’s going on?" Zeta Tara asked, sensing the tension in the air.
Beta Thane broke his stare with Elder Thomas, sighing with a grim expression. "Delta Xavier was locked up for a cri he commited days ago, and now, he’s escaped," his brows furrowed. How did he do that? Had those prison guards betrayed the pack once more?
"He didn’t escape," Suddenly, a voice drifted from the entrance.
The room fell silent as all eyes turned to Zeta Marcus, who stepped forward languidly, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Xavier was kidnapped," he said, his voice dripping with amusent. "By the rogues."
Beta Thane’s face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. "The rogues?" he growled, his voice low and nacing. "You’re telling that the rogues, who have been a thorn in our side for years, just waltzed in here and kidnapped a pack mber?"
"And you did nothing?" Elder Thomas spat, his voice venomous with rage. "You stood by and watched as my son was taken from under our noses?"
Zeta Marcus’s smile never wavered, but a hint of steel crept into his voice. "What was I supposed to do? Fight and get killed?"
"Zeta!" Elder Thomas growled, half-transforming as his claws elongated, his eyes blazing with fury. "That was my son!"
Marcus shrugged. As if he needed to be reminded. He rolled his eyes. He hoped the bastard would be cut into small pieces and sent to his father as at.
Zeta Tara stepped forward, her voice calm but firm, intervening before the situation escalated further. "Elder Thomas, stand down. We’ll get to the bottom of this and find out what happened to Delta Xavier."
"My son is in the hands of the rogues," Elder Thomas snarled, his voice dripping with anguish and rage. "And you’re telling to stand down? You’re telling to do nothing?" He took a step closer to Tara, his claws still extended, his eyes blazing with a fierce desperation.
"That’s enough, Thomas," finally, Elder Jaxson spoke up. "The rogues would not harm your son. They know better than to cross us directly." His voice was firm but asured, a calming influence on the tense atmosphere. "They probably want sothing from him, or perhaps, a negotiation of so sort. But unfortunately, the Luna’s not with us, so we have to wait until she returns."
Elder Thomas’s expression remained stormy. With a fierce roar, he charged out of the hall.
The sudden outburst sent the room into chaos, with several of his guards rushing to follow Elder Thomas.
"Thomas, wait!" Elder Jaxson bellowed, but the elder was already gone, vanished into the night.
Beta Thane cursed under his breath, feeling a serious migraine. "Zeta Marcus, go with him. Try to keep him from doing sothing reckless."
"? Why ?"
Beta Thane’s gaze narrowed, his eyes glinting with a hint of annoyance. "Because, Zeta, you should have prevented it. And right now, I need soone to keep Elder Thomas from getting himself killed." He paused, his voice taking on a slightly nacing tone. "And I’m not asking you, Zeta. I’m telling you."
Marcus sighed, bowed slightly as he turned and walked away, murmuring a curse under his breath.
Perhaps, he should have saved him, but why? What he wanted the most was to get that idiot killed.

anwhile, healer Dira felt frustrated after another failed experint. He’d used everything he could, turned all dical books upside down and even consulted with the junior healers, yet they couldn’t make sense of how these rogues died.
Whatever killed them seed to defy all logic and reason, and Dira was starting to lose hope. She slumped over her workbench, rubbing her tired eyes, and wondered if she was truly cut out for this healer business. She’d never doubted her skills, but this matter had her thinking her skills were inadequate.
How was she supposed to tell the Luna on her return that she found nothing after a week and so days? Would the Luna respect her anymore after this?

The next morning...
The coming-of-age ceremony in the human village was one that Reana never thought she’d be a part of. Yet, here she was, in a dressing room, sitting and watching her Gamma and Oga getting dolled up in luxury and refinent.
The villagers, who had once bared their teeth at them yesterday evening, now welcod them with open arms.
Why? You’d ask, but Reana had no idea.
Perhaps, it was the work of the devil who had ignored Reana all through yesterday, till now.
Kira was forced to sit before a dressing mirror as won flock around her, all smiles. They chattered excitedly, styling Kira’s hair and adorning her with intricate jewelry.
Kira had never worn a piece of jewelry nor adorned flashy female dresses. She was a warrior, trained in the art of combat, not in the art of being a delicate flower.
Yet, as she gazed at her reflection in the mirror, Reana could see a glimr of uncertainty in her Gamma’s eyes - she seed to be forcing herself not to like the feminine version of herself.
The won were transforming Kira into a vision of loveliness. She wore a purple silken dress, adorned with intricate silver thread embroidery that shimred in the light, accentuating her athletic yet feminine physique. A delicate silver necklace with a small, polished athyst crystal rested against her collarbone, drawing attention to her striking features.
Her makeup was subtle yet elegant, with a soft focus on her eyes that made them seem even more piercing. A light dusting of powder gave her skin a radiant glow, and a hint of color on her lips made them seem fuller and more inviting.
The overall effect was one of understated sophistication, as if Kira had always been a lady of refinent and beauty, rather than a fierce warrior.
Kira’s usual ssy bun was now loose, cascading down her back in rich, red waves that frad her determined face. Despite her initial discomfort, Kira looked regal, a true warrior princess, and Reana couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the transformation.
