114 eting His Parents

“The Master and Mada are waiting for your arrival in the main dining room. They’ve asked for you to join them for lunch once you’ve arrived,” the butler quickly inford Brandon.

“Thank you. We’ll head there now,” Brandon said casually.

“Don’t worry about your luggage, I will put them in your room for you,” the butler said.

Luggage? I don’t rember packing anything since I didn’t even know that I had to stay over for the night. Was there a way that I could get out of this one?

Maybe if I talk to Brandon...

“Thank you. Our luggage is in the car,” Brandon replied smoothly.

I shot him another inquisitive look and he winked at . It was clear that he planned all this. I hated the way that Brandon always seed to get his way in everything. I rolled my eyes when the butler had turned away from us.

“Co on, Elena. I’ll take you to et my parents,” Brandon said with a smile.

“I don’t rember agreeing to spend the night with you here,” I muttered accusingly.

.....

“What are you talking about? The estate is quite far away from the city. Plus, I would love to show my fiancée around my estate. We’ll spend the weekend together here,” Brandon replied smoothly.

“You’re kidding ...” I murmured.

“My parents want to spend the weekend here with them, so I figured that you could keep company,” Brandon said with a small laugh.

“Why do I have to keep you company?” I snapped in frustration. I’m not supposed to work on Sundays.

“You’re my fiancée so if you don’t keep company, then who will?” he asked as he gave a look that told that he thought that I had nothing in between my ears.

“I’m just going to bite my tongue now...” I retorted before walking a head of him.

I rolled my eyes with my back to him and suppressed the urge to pull my hair out. Brandon’s playful laugh followed everywhere as he slowly caught up with .

“The dining room is his way, my dear fiancée,” Brandon said teasingly as he took a hold of my hand and started leading the way.

“I hate this...” I muttered and I wasn’t referring to Brandon’s teasing of the fact that I had to stay overnight.

“I know. I hate eting them too...” he said before he turned to face .

To my surprise, Brandon offered a tender smile before pulling into his embrace. His warmth and his sll enveloped , and my heart skipped a beat before it started beating faster in my chest.

“I’ll return your entire bag and art collection to you if you can just survive this weekend with ,” Brandon whispered into my ear.

“Are you serious?!” I said, a little too loudly as I pushed him away enough so that I could see his face.

“Yup. I’m dead serious. So, do we have a deal?” he asked with charming smile.

“Of course, we do...” I replied, feeling very pumped up about all this.

Co what may. I am going to get my collection of bags and artwork back no matter what. Hang on a while longer My Lord and My Lady, Elena is on the way!

“Suddenly, you look so motivated. You’re so simple...and I like you so much for it...” Brandon said with a small laugh as he pushed forward towards our destination.

“Don’t forget our deal,” I said as I squinted my eyes at him.

“Survive this weekend first, then we’ll talk,” he replied sternly.

...

“Co in,” an icy woman’s voice called out politely to us after Brandon had knocked on the dining’s room door.

Now that I was standing in front of the door, I realized that I felt more nervous than that day when I was about to et the board mbers to Brandon’s company. My hands were sweaty, and my lower lip was quivering as panic started to take over. I took in long and deep breaths in an attempt to try to calm myself down. If Brandon felt the sa way that I did, he definitely did not show it. On the surface, he was as calm and collected as ever with just a hint of boredom on his handso features.

“Let’s go...” he whispered to .

His large hand pushed the door opened slowly and I found myself being semi-dragged by my hand into the room after him. The dining room resembled more of a ballroom with a single long table in its center. The light from the crystal chandeliers hanging above felt blinding and for the life of , I couldn’t understand why they needed a room this large simply to have a al for four people.

“Brandon...” a beautiful woman quickly got out of her seat to approach us when she saw Brandon step into the room.

Without a doubt, I knew that that was his mother. I recognized her face because I’ve seen many photos of her before from when she attended multiple public events to support her son. Usually, she likes to keep herself away from the spotlight regardless of her wealth and how much the press really wanted a taste of her. However, she was very supportive of her only son and did not hesitate to appear in public to show her support.

“Mother...” Brandon said simply in greeting.

I plastered the politest smile on my lips as she approached us. My eyes darted to the other figure who was still sitting at the dining table and knew imdiately that that man must be Brandon’s father, the man who I should fear most of all in this estate.

“Co and join us for lunch. I’m sure that you’re hungry,” his mother said before smiling at him.

It was clear that she intended to completely ignore and the fact that I was also in the room or also the fact that I also existed in this world. She didn’t say a word to or even look my way. That didn’t bother , though, but I knew that it bothered Brandon and his plans.
