Amber’s POV

I land on my butt, and the woman who grabbed cackles.

"Welco, little Queen, to my humble abode." She says in a sarcastic voice. Her smile resembles a hyena who is looking at their prey.

"I would thank you, but I didn’t ask you to take anywhere, Keres," I tell her as I stand up.

"You didn’t have to, Amber. I would have done it either way. You are interfering in things you should keep your little perky nose out of, and I need you away to get them done." I raise an eyebrow at her. I ddle in things. That can only an she is interfering in sothing with the dragons.

"Uh huh. Well, I hate to break it to you, sunshine, but I am not staying just for your five minutes of fun."

"You think you are here for my fun? Oh no no. The fun doesn’t start before you get back there. When is the real question, that really depends on that stubborn mate you’ve got." My ears perk up at that. Which mate are we talking about? Chase or Blaze. I don’t know I couldn’t handle it if Blaze also turns his back on . Ignis growls at the re suggestion of Blaze doing that to us.

"Uhm, which one?" I ask as casually as I can, looking down at my nails as if this whole exchange has bored. She sneers.

"Your mate. Did you hit your head or sothing? No one has more than one." She rolls her eyes and walks away. Hm, so she doesn’t know I have two mates. This could play out to my advantage.

I look around the dark room we landed in. It’s small, with a bed on one side and a small table and chair on the other. I opened one of the two doors, but not the one Keres walked out of - I heard it lock when she closed it. It’s a small bathroom, just as dark as everything else here.

‘So, what are we going to do, Ignis?’

‘We wait. She’s a talker. Rember mother always said Keres was overly confident, and would spill the beans easily if you played your cards right?’

‘Yeah, but I really don’t want to stay here for too long, ya know. We have sowhere to be and a mate who is probably worried.’

"We have two mates who are worried, and that is exactly why we are staying put. They need to figure so things out themselves, and this will be a great opportunity for them and us.’

"You know sothing?!’ Ignis snubs to the back of my mind without telling what she knows. Stupid mutt!

‘I heard that!’

‘You were supposed to!’ I roll my eyes at her. This is ridiculous, but as long as she is not spilling what she knows, and Keres has locked in - I will take a nap!

Soti later I hear the lock on the door click, and I sit up on the bed. It’s not Keres, but a youngling.

"My mistress says to take you to her for dinner." The youngling says. I raise my eyebrow.

"What’s your na, little one?" I ask in a kind voice. She flinches, looking down at the ground.

"I have no na. I’m nobody, a slave. Slaves have no nas." She replies as the blood boils under my skin.

"How many slaves are here?" I ask, wanting to know what I’m walking out to.

"Just and my sister. Please, Miss, co with before my ti is up." She trembles at the ntion of her ti. I quickly stand to follow, but there is a swush and the girl cries out in pain. A red angry line appears on her cheek and the tears silently slide down, making it hurt even more.

We hurry down the corridor, and into a dining hall. Keres sits on one end of the overly decorated and food laden table. The girl steals one little glance at the extravagance and yet another red angry line appears on her hands.

I kneel down to the child’s level, taking her hands in mine. They are a little swollen, but it’s the fear and pleading I see in her eyes that gets . Ignis moves in my mind, wanting nothing more than to take the girl and leave this place.

"Everything will be okay, little one," I whisper before standing and facing the goddess.

My eyes are burning from the rage within, and I can feel how my magic begs to be released from the monster at the end of the table. Her smile is sugar sweet and makes want to vomit.

"What’s the matter, little Queen?" She asks, and I am beginning to resent the way she says "little Queen".

"You are," I answer easily, as she cackles.

"You are a feisty one. Just like that ddleso mother of yours."

"Yeah, I almost forgot you t my mother. Well, I’m worse." I say, the fire in my eyes not to be mistaken. Keres swallows and raises her hand into the air.

"No harm done, young Amber. I was only teasing." She surrendered, but I was not. I let the fire consu my body before I even know what I am doing, and Keres jumps to her feet.

"What are you doing, child." She yells, pearls of sweat and fear prominent on her forehead. I open my eyes, admiring the flas dancing on my skin.

"Keres of the dark realm, I order you to release and the two children you keep as prisoners and slaves here. If not I will not hesitate to burn down the realm and you." Keres laughs. Cynical and evil laughter.

"You think your little fire trick can frighten ? I’m a goddess for heaven’s sake. You cannot hurt ." Ignis tells to send a fla her way, and I lift my hand while my magic and fire are all too eager to obey my orders. The shot hits her arm, and she screams in pain - her eyes wide with true fear and her mouth hanging open.

"NO! No, no, no. He promised ! He said he wouldn’t let them take it... He... But it doesn’t matter. It changes nothing." I have no idea what she’s on about, but from my mother, I know ti moves at a different pace in the goddess realms, so I know having been here for hours could be days, weeks, or even months in the other realm. I need to get back.

"Let and the two girls go. NOW!" I demand in an angry voice that’s not really my own. The little girl looks at like I’m the sun, and then she moves to wrap her arms around my leg before I can say or do anything.

The flas surround her as well, as a protective barrier between her and the evil facing us, and then another little adorable girl pops out of nowhere, she instinctively moves to as well. She seems to have been summoned by her sister, but how I don’t know, not that I have ti to speculate right now. She copies her sister, who looks to be the oldest around 5 years old. My flas know they are innocent, and Ignis is purring. She takes one look at the younglings and knows imdiately they are ours. From now on and forever they will be our pups, though they are not werewolves. They are dragons and sothing else.

I’ll have to think about this another ti.

Keres screams in frustration, but waves her hand.

"This isn’t over, Amber of the Hell Fire." She says, and then the world closes around us.
