His lips tugged up into a grateful surprised smile at her words. She closed the gap between them, placed a hand on his cheek and smiled even more. "Fine. I agree to let you chase . Do a pretty damn job or I would leave you. After all, I do not have a mate bond like Jade's tying to you. So I can go if you make angry."
Although she was kidding but her words had struck a wrong chord and he wasn't smiling.
She looked at him and was shocked to see the sa gloomy expression she saw before when she made ntion that they were not mates.
she did not understand it but she could tell that there was sothing about this mate bond thing that got to him.
Was it that he was angry, sad that the others got and he did not? If she counted well, Sky had his t, Jay too and then Xander. She may not know much for Malcon but their crew virtually did have that and he doesn't else he would not be chasing after her.
She did not know what it was exactly but without being told, she knew she had to find out, lest she kept on making the sa mistakes and making him sad.
"Hey, Aramis, what is the matter? Did I say sothing wrong?"
"No." He shook his head, brushing it off and smiled brightly at her but even from that, though she wasn't as great with seeing as him, she could tell sothing was wrong. "I am fine. There is nothing wrong."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." He pecked her on the forehead and withdrew. "Do not worry your lovely head. Co on let us go inside."
"But," she tried to stop him and give an excuse to get him to talk but when she wants to speak further, her brain beca lost, leaving her speechless.
"What? Do not tell you haven't scouted enough?" He let out a breathe and faced her, crossing both arms in front of his chest. "You can relax now. Trust , this place is safe. Even if they mama age to pass through which I doubt any one can without Xander's permission, they would die before they get ten feet past the barrier."
"Wow! You really do protect him."
"Well, I won't take the credit. That is Xander for you. This mansion belongs to his family, with Jade. You know their future children."
"I see, okay, let's go in."
