CHAPTER 108 – THE DISCOVERY: BEWARE OF THE DRAGON CEO
Her eyes locked on her phone on the bedside table and she quickly picked it up. At least it was one thing she recognized in the big bedroom she was in.
"Co here, baby."
She took her phone and unlocked it only to find out that she was on a low battery. "Damn it, how did this happen? I better plug you in soon." She looked around but did not find a single phone charger.
Her frustration was about setting in.
Jade knew more than anything that calming down was the best thing for her now. She needs to find Xander and from there get a charger, eat sothing to take drugs to help with her migraine before it beca much worse.
All through her mind had been so caught up on where she was that she failed to notice she was putting on a very big top and a short.
By the ti it dawned on her that she was not putting on her clothes, Jade was ready to scream her might. Nevertheless, she stopped. She had thought soone had undressed her but on a closer look, her bra and undies were still on just her outer clothes were removed.
"I better find the jerk that did these without my permission."
With that thought set in place, Jade got up from the bed and made her way towards the door, then exited the room.
She soon found herself in a long hallway that seed not to have an end with several kinds of door sizes to each room.
She made no effort in wasting ti and went to the first door opposite her to see if anyone was around and found that the door was closed.
"Bloody hell. Co on just open." She tried fumbling with the handle but each attempt did not yield a positive result.
She moved on to the next door and got the sa result. "Arghhh!" then she moved to the next and the next, still she got the sa result.
That was how she made her way to the end of the hall testing out which door was unlocked till she arrived at the mightiest door she had seen at the centre of the hallway.
Her first thought was that with such a room, it ant no entry and her last thought was that it may not be open not to talk of having a charger there.
Regardless, Jade decided to try to fulfil all righteousness. Besides, her phone battery was low.
"There is no harm in trying, right?" Jade heaved an exasperated sigh before looking at her phone in her hands.
Beep! Beep!
"Bloody 3 %. Here goes nothing."
She locked the phone screen and turned the doorknob. To her surprise and dismay, the door pushed open.
"I didn't see that coming." She was already having a second thought about entering when sothing caught her attention from, the corner of her eye.
Curious as to what that was, she pushed the door fully open and stepped inside. Her feet did not stop regardless as her attention and eyes remained fixed on the huge painting on the wall behind the big study table.
Jade had no clue when her lips parted and her jaw dropped. The painting wasn't one to be reckoned with. It was simply beautiful.
She felt a cold chill run down her spine with each passing second and ultimately her body finally listened to her mind and stopped moving.
"Wow."
It was the picture of a mighty dragon. The painting felt so real and alive that at a point she thought the dragon was looking at her.
"I never knew he loved dragons this much," Jade thought out loud.
While she was still busy processing the intricate designs and detail taken into consideration her phone rang, pulling her attention back.
Ring! Ring!
She looked at the caller and found out it was Arctic. "Hello, Arctic, morning."
"Good morning boss. How are you?"
"I am okay. Just a slight headache."
"Oh, make sure to take your dications okay?"
"Yeah, I will. So what's up? Any news for ?"
"Oh, yes. I have good news." She could feel the excitent from his voice and knew sothing mighty had happened.
"What news? Do not stall, tell ."
"Okay. The person to decode the ssage has finally decode it. He spent all night doing it and just finished. I personally stayed with him to be sure of things."
"Good one. Thank you. So what does the ssage entails?"
"You want saying it over the phone or you want to see it personally?" Jade paused to think, seconds later she decided.
"Just tell . It is the sa thing."
"Okay. It is a ssage, a form of a warning though. It says."
Badum! Badum!
No matter how much she tried to be brave and not feel affected, the actual truth was that she was a bit scared. Scared of what the ssage contained, scared of what secrets lay in the dark for her father to guard so jealously like that.
"Hmm, 'BEWARE OF THE DRAGON LORD'. That is all."
'What?"
"Yeah I know that it sounds off and all but Jade I want you to be careful. And that reminds , I do not trust this umm new guy you have always been eting and all. Who knows what connection he has with the Anders?"
"I trust him, Arctic. I trust him. He hasn't done anything to hurt and he has always been there. In fact, I can use his connections yo get so secret information on Anders and their plans. Don't you worry, everything would be alright?"
Arctic did not want to argue with her and risk her getting angry. He let out a soft sigh before speaking. "If you say so."
"Thanks."
"No problem. Anyways, we need to find out who this dragon Lord is, so you can beware of him and try not to cross his path. I was thinking... "
Beep! Beep!
Jade pulled the phone from her ear and soon enough her phone beeped once more and shut down right before her eyes.
"No, co on. Damn it! Don't die at an important discussion like this," Jade cursed in a low voice.
"I need to get a charger soonest so I can call him back." She raised her head, letting her eyes freely scan the study room. Just when she was about taking the first step toward the table when she felt a strong presence behind her and froze at the spot.
"And explain to why you are here, tigress?"
'Yikes!' Jade ntally cringed. She knew it was wrong to do what she did but that did not stop her from doing it still.
She had not ant any harm though and only wanted a charger for her phone.
Slowly, with hands half hanging at her side, she turned around to face him but her mind was not prepared by the ntal shock she was about to see.
As soon as she turned around and her eyes landed on him, Jade gulped loudly with eyes wide open at the perfectly flawless, shirtless, muscular upper body in front of her.
For a minute there she forgot the charger and her offense and allowed her eyes to roam over his body like a hungry predator.
He was putting on a fitted leather pants that showed how huge he was down there with nothing upwards. The sight before her sure was sexy as fuck, causing her to gulp a second ti.
After checking him out hungrily, Jade looked up at that muscular chest again and felt like enveloping him in a bear hug.
In fact the left over effect of the previous day was still in her and it caused her to feel light headed after envisioning things and thinking naughty thought about the body in front of her.
Slowly, she let her eyes trail back up from his pelvic region to his 6 pacs then to his chiseled chest and nice built, over to his neck and Adams apple before she gulped a second ti as they landed on those perfect lips of his.
In fact, just staring at him had made her feel tingly in her stomach and hungry to taste those lips of his.
But sothing told her that the gaze he gave her wasn't one that mirrored hers. Finally Jade looked him in the eyes and felt her breathe left her.
He really looked like a handso deity and she wanted him more than before now.
One could not bla her as this was the first ti she was seeing her boyfriend shirtless… naked from the waist upwards.
