I was still trying to find Amadea’s whereabouts. From above, I could see hundreds, no, maybe thousands of troops in red uniforms trying to fight off the hundreds of the creatures of Biriwik that had co out to protect the mountain. Part of the forest had been completely burnt with many human corpses, horses, and even animals that weren’t involved in the conflict.

I knew it was Amadea’s fla. A fla that could lt anything. I didn’t think that war would be the ugliest sight I had ever seen. How could they ruin everything for one purpose? Was there no other way?

I had to find Amadea soon. I tried calling out to him in my head, hoping the man would remove his barrier soon and be able to hear my voice. Amadea was still alive. I could feel it, but he was injured now.

I saw the figure of a wolf with thick black fur tearing the neck of the horse of one of Northendell’s troops until it fell. A lot of blood flowed on the ground. I didn’t know whose blood it was. Amadea’s black fur made unable to distinguish it.

"Amadea! Get out of there!" exclaid the black dragon.

Amadea didn’t listen. He kept jumping here and there, attacking everyone who got in his way. I couldn’t see it. Too much blood made feel nauseous. The black dragon kept calling out to Amadea, asking the man to stop for a mont and retreat.

"Let replace you, Amadea! Retreat for now."

Amadea couldn’t seem to stop. When Amadea’s wolf stopped for a mont, I saw three people lunge at him at once, and Amadea imdiately jumped up to bite the closest man. Then, he threw the man’s body to another man so that the tree near them was broken.

The way Amadea walked looked strange. There was no mistake, the man was also injured. It could be seen from the ground he stood on.

"Amadea! Co back!" I shouted loudly.

I saw his body stiffen. Amadea looked back, and the dragon I was riding on swooped down to spit flas at the two knights who were trying to attack Amadea.

I blinked when I felt the wall covering Amadea’s head disappear.

(What are you doing here!?) he asked in a high pitched voice.

(Co back. I need to treat your wounds right away! I don’t care if you want to jump back in war again, but let heal your wound first! Just one minute! Please!)

(Grrrr... you really! Go ho! Co back to the temple now!)

(I’ll go back after treating your wound, idiot!)

I flinched when the man cursed and attacked several knights who had been prepared to lunge at him with their swords raised high. With one swing of his claws, Amadea was able to injure three humans at once.

(Alright, co with !)

I told the black dragon to follow Amadea who was running backwards. Even though he ran to the rearguard, all the creatures kept trying to defend their territories. So far the humans were still struggling. I really couldn’t bear to see it.

Surely, many of them didn’t want this. They were forced to join war by the higher-ups. Just like my father who always sent his troops to the battlefield even though they seed reluctant to do so.

Many of them died in vain. I tried to distract myself. I didn’t have the power to stop this. The only way to stop this war was from the human side itself. They just needed to stop being greedy and let everyone go back to their places, then there would be no more casualties.

My heart hurt every ti I passed by nurous human bodies as well as innocent Birwick creatures scattered on the ground. Even though there had been many victims who had fallen, the humans’ side didn’t seem to have any intention to stop the war.

I tried to deafen my ears when I heard the screams of pain from a man whose lower body was being torn apart by a tiger. Desperate cries and ringing pain made it hard for to breathe. Until we continued into the forest further.

The sound of war could still be heard faintly. The black dragon dropped near Amadea, who had been waiting.

"I will help the others and co back soon to return you to the temple," said the dragon.

"Thank you, I owe you a lot."

The black dragon flapped its wings again and then flew high through the clouds. I saw it slide far away very quickly.

I imdiately took out the dagger that I always carried with in preparation for treating the creatures of Birwick. Amadea waited under a tree and I told him to turn into a human imdiately so I could see his wound. His thick pitch black fur made it a little difficult for to find the source of the man’s wound.

The wolf’s body slowly shrunk, and the black fur disappeared one by one. His legs and arms had transford into a human’s body. In no ti, Amadea had transford into a whole human being. I saw the man’s breath was heavym and the part of his shoulder was deeply injured. His white shirt was drenched in blood.

I imdiately unbuttoned Amadea’s shirt. Then, I slashed my left palm and put it on his injured shoulder. I squeezed my hand tightly so that it would bleed more.

"How can it be this bad? Were the arrows they used poisonous? I asked after seeing that Amadea’s wound looked rotting even though the wound was still new.

"I think they have found out my weakness. There shouldn’t be any kind of arrow or poison that could hurt like this. I don’t know how they know it, but it’s clear that soone in Birwick has told them my weakness."

Amadea’s weakness? I didn’t even know that the man had a weakness. Amadea was a being blessed by the Sun God directly, he was the guardian of Birwick Mountain for a very long ti ago, but I didn’t know that he had a weakness.

"You have a weakness?"

Amadea looked right in the eye.

"Yeah, the one that was set a long ti ago. The only way to kill . And I think I know who did it because he used to almost kill in the sa way."

"Who?"

"ra."

"ra? But, ra is waiting for his wife. The black dragon just said that the dragon clan will not interfere in this war."

Amadea’s wound slowly healed and closed, and the man’s breath was getting stabilized. I, who was still worried that the wound didn’t heal completely, squeezed my hand even tighter so that Amadea’s wound would close again soon.

"I told you from the start not to trust that dragon too much."

"But, ra was really nice to ."

"He was nice to you, but it doesn’t necessarily an good intentions, Cecilia."

ra... I didn’t understand the reason ra had to do this to Amadea. What did the dragon want? I thought even though Amadea and ra still didn’t like each other, both of them had mutual respect for one another.

"And what is your weakness? Why have I never heard of this?"

"The snowdrop flowers. My only weakness is that one. That little flower can be very toxic to ." Amadea touched his shoulder, which was now completely healed. No more traces of wounds could be seen. Only his blood was left. I helped him put his clothes back on. Then, Amadea touched the wound on my hand, which was slowly closing.

"Snowdrop was fated to be poison for . That beautiful flower can make my wound get worse. Hylios and I first t because of this. He arrived with the news that I would have a human mate that could also heal my wounds. At that ti, ra and I were fighting for the blessings of the Sun God, and it seed like ra accidentally threw on a snowdrop and saw my wounds getting worse. Even so, I still won and Hylios joined ."

Amadea got up.

"Co back, Cecilia. I don’t want to see you here anymore. I will imdiately kill the stupid king who did all this. I just need to kill the venomous snake’s head so that its entire tail will stop moving."

"Amadea... I... have a bad feeling."

I didn’t know what I was feeling right now, but I objected if Amadea returned to fight the humans. Knowing that humans had held his weakness card made uneasy. They would definitely keep trying to hurt Amadea.

"Cecillia, I won’t get hurt anymore. That was just a re mistake, but after-"

"I don’t want it, Amadea! I don’t want you to go there again!" I shouted in frustration.

I was even surprised by my loud voice.

" and our little snowdrop need you. Don’t go...."

"Cecilia..."

"Cecilia!"

Amadea and I looked to the side. Exactly a few ters from where we stood, King Theodore sat on his white horse while looking at with disbelief.

How could that be? How could the man approach us so easily without us sensing his presence? I turned to Amadea who was tensing up. It seed he also didn’t expect to see a human enter so far into Birwick Mountain unhard. And all those questions had been answered. Behind King Theodore stood a man dressed all in black.

It was the black dragon that helped earlier. He looked at us with an indescribable gaze.

"Why? Why are you doing this?"

"To restore our leader’s status as the true Guardian of Birwick!"
