King Theodore helped to et one of my dying rabbits. I could feel its soft fur wet with blood. It felt like sothing was choking my throat when I felt an arrow still stuck in that tiny body. They didn’t even pull out the arrow and let the rabbit die in pain.

"Your Majesty, can’t my rabbit be saved?"

"Cecil, its condition is too critical. If you want another rabbit friend, I can give you more rabbits. You have to let go of that one."

Ah... perhaps King Theodore also thought the rabbit was only a hunting animal, like all the soldiers in the training grounds. I could tell from the tone of his voice that the king was feeling guilty, but it was all covered up because we were in the palace grounds where many people were looking at him.

As he once told , in front of a large audience, he would turn cold. I felt irritated. I had been irritated many tis, but it was now on a different level. Until finally soone touched my shoulder, and I imdiately took a deep breath to calm myself down.

"Sorry, Cecil. I really didn’t an to irritate you, but I guess even in this condition, it would be too late to call an animal doctor."

"It’s okay, Your Majesty. I understand."

I pulled the arrow from the tiny body of the rabbit, but King Theodore stopped .

"Don’t touch the arrow, you will get hurt!"

However, it was too late, because the arrow stuck deep. I also had to touch the tip so that it could co out completely. I winced as I felt sothing sharp on the palm of my hand.

"Shit! Cecil, your hand is injured."

I grimaced in pain as King Theodore pulled my hand. Then, a cloth wrapped around my hand, and I was pulled to stand up. Sothing jumped in my lap, and I could hear the people around gasping in shock. I didn’t know what had happened, but I could still feel the stinging pain in my palm.

"Cecil, what’s that?"

I didn’t understand. Did King Theodore forget that I couldn’t see?

"Yes? But, what do you an by what? I do not really understand."

"A mont."

King Theodore let go of my hand. I heard the man’s order to catch the rabbit. Did any of my other rabbits escape from the cage? I must find it soon. I didn’t want to lose any more friends. There were several people running around, and in an instant a man approached with heavy breath. Perhaps he had managed to catch another of my rabbits that ran away?

"What the hell?"

I frowned in confusion because King Theodore was swearing so loudly.

"Cecil, co with ."

I didn’t even have ti to ask to bury my rabbit, but King Theodore just pulled away. I tried to rember which way the man was taking . Then, I heard loud footsteps. It ant we might have entered the main palace where King Theodore resided.

I got the feeling King Theodore was turning left, which ant we would most likely be visiting his study. I gasped when he scolded the maid and ordered her to quickly get warm water and bring a doctor to check on my hand.

I sat on a soft couch. It was red with gold thread, and right in front of should be a never-ending fireplace. It was my mory that I recalled when I could still see.

Then, a man’s voice entered my ears. It seed the man was the doctor who would treat my hand. I just sat quietly and occasionally held back my tears as the doctor cleaned the wound on my palm more roughly. The doctor said my wound wasn’t too deep, and after giving two small stitches, the man bandaged it so that no more blood would co out of my hand.

There was the sound of heavy footsteps joining in the study. From the sound of his footsteps, he seed to be a palace guard. I couldn’t hear clearly what they were talking about. And after my hand was treated, King Theodore ordered everyone in the room to leave except for . Even when Queen Alicia announced her presence, he refused to let her enter the room.

The man held my other hand that wasn’t injured.

"Cecil?" he called very softly.

"Yes, Your Majesty?"

"Do you... have anything you didn’t know before?"

Sothing I didn’t know before? What an odd question. I answered honestly when I said that I didn’t understand what the man ant.

A long sigh could be heard.

"Do... you... have so sort of healing power?" he asked hesitantly.

Healing power? I didn’t think I had ever had such power. I couldn’t heal anything. Even my hand was still hurting.

"I don’t think so, Your Majesty."

"Is that true?"

"Why do you ask like that? I really don’t understand."

"Um... sothing strange happened earlier when we went to see your rabbit getting shot by an arrow from one of the soldiers in training."

"Sothing strange like what?"

"So... when you pulled out the arrow, a second later, the dying rabbit in your lap imdiately got up and jumped like it wasn’t hurt at all. And just now, I ordered a guard to check if there were any wounds on its body, but after checking it thoroughly, there was not a single visible wound on its body."

Huh? That was very strange. How could this happen? I didn’t feel like doing anything at all.

"Can I try sothing?"

"What?"

"Sorry."

I didn’t understand what the man wanted to do until I winced when sothing sharp could be felt at the tip of my index finger. My finger touched sothing wet and had a long line. It was like a fresh wound, but I didn’t know whose wound it was.

"Oh, shit."

There was the sound of a table falling backwards. Then, King Theodore burst into laughter, making even more confused.

"You-Your Majesty.... Is everything alright?"

The man was exclaiming like soone who was thrilled, but I didn’t understand what made him excited. Until finally, he stopped laughing and went back to touching my index finger, which was still throbbing with the pain earlier.

"Cecil, your blood... your blood can heal wounds! This is great! You... you... are amazing."

"My blood? Please speak clearly, Your Majesty. I don’t understand."

King Theodore then explained about him who deliberately made a cut on his palm and dripped so blood from the tip of my forefinger that he had made. In an instant, the long wound he had just made disappeared as if he had never been injured before.

"Please do not tell lies, Your Majesty. I’m sure I don’t have any power. Per-perhaps... what you see and feel is wrong!"

I still denied the fact that I could heal soone with my blood. But, why couldn’t the wounds on my own body be healed? King Theodore asked the sa thing. He asked if he could try one more ti. I, who was also still curious, agreed on his idea, and in the second experint, it was the sa. There was no wound left on King Theodore’s palm while my injured index finger still hurt.

Then, I rembered the words of the mysterious man who said that I had power. Was this what the man ant?

King Theodore then cleaned my wound and treated the wound he had made. He said that this matter should be kept secret so that no one would take advantage of it carelessly. I just nodded, following whatever the man said.

After giving a small bandage on the tip of my index finger, King Theodore called a maid to escort back to my room because he still had many things to do.

Ever since I found out that there was sothing about my body that made special... I felt more lonely than before. Even when I tried to find so fresh air, King Theodore forbade from going alone without a guard and made sure that I always returned to my room safely.

It had been two weeks since I was forbidden to talk to Queen Alicia. I already discussed this with King Theodore, but the man said this was all for my safety so no one could take advantage of . I already said that I wouldn’t tell anyone about it, but it seed King Theodore didn’t really listen to my words.

Maybe if I could still see, I would have ventured out of my room, but I couldn’t see now, so I have quite a bit of fear of going out of my room.

Until one cold night, King Theodore visited my room to ask for help.

"Cecil, sorry if I woke you up."

"What’s wrong, Your Majesty? You sound sick?"

"Fuck... looks like soone poisoned both of my guards, and I fell and... and hurt my hand."

"Good grief!"

"Cecil, I don’t intend to do this at all... but... my wound has to get healed soon..., I-I—hah.."

"I understand. Please don’t talk much. You are in pain."

I received the small dagger given to by King Theodore, and without thinking, I sliced my hand.

"I don’t know where your wound is. Please do it yourself..."

"Thank you, Cecil... I... I know I can rely on you..."

I smiled at being able to help King Theodore as my friend today.

"We are friends. It’s only natural to help each other."
