Lazarus took a slow sip of his drink. He stared at his drink keenly. He had a hard ti following Aie and Dylan’s conversation. There was nothing he could do but play with the drinks and listen to their stories.

Lazarus was quite sensitive when both Dylan and Aie try to avoid so sensitive topics from him, such as Aie’s real reason for going to the academy and Aie’s childhood because Lazarus knows for sure they didn’t want Lazarus to know about the grave mistake he had made in the past.

Lazarus had never been hurt this deep before. He wanted to join in the conversation, but he realized that it would only irritate Aie more. Even though they went to the sa academy and studied from the sa teacher, Lazarus couldn’t be on the sa frequency as Dylan and Aie.

He knew several teachers ntioned by them, but he chose to remain silent. Even though Aie knew that Lazarus had attended the sa academy, the girl didn’t try to ask Lazarus at all. Aie didn’t even glance at him.

"I don’t know. I’m starting to like my current job. But if given the chance, I still want to be a teacher," said Aie, making Lazarus frown.

"You don’t want to try it, Aie? You are a smart girl, and you definitely deserve to be a teacher."

Aie chuckled, embarrassed at Dylan’s complint.

"Maybe later. After I have my own money without asking my family for money, I will build my own school," Aie replied.

"You want to be a teacher?" Lazarus suddenly asked, interrupting Aie and Dylan’s conversation. The two fell silent for a mont and turned to Lazarus, who finally opened his mouth to speak after hours of silence.

"Yes," replied Aie curtly.

"I have an unused building. If you want, I can give it to you, so you can make it into a school," Lazarus said, making Aie frown.

"Thank you, but I still want to work with Princess Arielle right now," Aie declined gently.

"Oh, I see..."

Lazarus closed his mouth again for the rest of the conversation.

"Oh, Aie. It’s night already! I forgot about the ti. Do you want to take you back to the palace?" Dylan offered.

Aie refused because she didn’t want to trouble her old friend more. Dylan had already treated Lazarus and Aie with a lot of food and drink. Besides, Lazarus was with her, so she didn’t have to worry about going back to the palace alone.

Lazarus asked for Dylan’s address again, but Dylan refused politely. He had absolutely no problem paying for Lazarus’ food, but Lazarus kept insisting on paying him back. Aie then intervened, but Dylan refused Aie, who wanted to pay for Lazarus’ food.

"I do it sincerely. Think of it as a thank you because you have made realize that not everyone can accept us as we are," Dylan said before boarding his carriage.

"With pleasure, Dylan. If you need soone to talk to, send a letter so we can make an appointnt to et again," Aie replied, making Lazarus grip the reins of his horse tightly. He really was jealous of the man nad Dyan.

Aie waved her hand after Dylan’s carriage left. After confirming the carriage carrying Dylan had gone, Aie walked towards Lazarus.

"Shall we go back now?" Lazarus asked.

Aie just nodded her head.

So cold, thought Lazarus.

Aie got on Lazarus’ horse first and Lazarus followed, sitting behind the girl. This was the second ti Aie had sat on one horse with Lazarus. It was nothing for her. She just felt uncomfortable being this close to Lazarus.

The two rode in silence. Not a single word ca out of Aie’s or Lazarus’ mouths. Lazarus was busy arranging sentences to apologize to Aie. After all, he had already rembered what he did ten years ago to Aie. The reason the girl hated him so much.

From Aie’s coldness, it seed like it would be difficult for Lazarus to get a forgiveness. He was very pessimistic, but as one of Northendell’s admiral knights, he had gone through many unpredictable conditions in the sea because the waves kept moving erratically.

So Lazarus had to take the opportunity to apologize properly.

After they arrived at Whitethorn Palace, Lazarus helped Aie down. The man planned to return his horse to the stable first, but Aie suddenly left, making Lazarus panic.

"Aie!" Lazarus called before Aie entered the palace.

"What is it?" asked the girl with a flat expression on her face.

"Could we talk for a minute?"

"Could we do it tomorrow? It’s getting late, and I have to check on Princess Arielle."

"Just a mont! I promise it won’t be long!" Lazarus begged for a chance to speak.

Aie thought for a mont, then let out a long sigh. "Okay, but if it’s not important, I’ll just leave."

"Of course! Thank you for the opportunity."

Aie turned to approach Lazarus, and the two of them were standing under the falling snow.

"What is it?" Aie asked hastily.

"I already rember what I did to you ten years ago."

Aie turned around and Lazarus quickly grabbed the girl’s arm, so she wouldn’t run away. This was an important conversation, so Aie couldn’t leave until the girl heard his genuine apology.

"Aie, I will not try to justify my actions ten years ago. However, back then you were very young, and you shouldn’t have feelings for a grown man like . But, I was also wrong for rejecting you anly in front of your friends. Even after rembering it, I found it difficult to look at you because of the overwhelming guilt."

Lazarus slowly lowered his hand and gently gripped Aie’s fingers. He took a few steps back, then bowed his head deeply.

"Aie, I am truly sorry for what I have done to you."

"Now, you know why I hate you so much, right?" Aie asked in a cold tone.

"Sorry." That was all Lazarus could co up with.

"Because I used to like you. I got the attention I didn’t get from my other brothers, but you just brought down. My heart hurt so bad."

"Aie, can I fix all my mistakes?"

"How?" Aie asked sharply.

Lazarus straightened his body and looked at Aie gently. "Any way you want. If you want to hit one more ti right now, I’ll take it. If you don’t want to see again right now, I will go. Whatever it is, Aie... I’ll do it for you."

"Lazarus... you..." Aie clenched her fists and felt angry at Lazarus’ words just now. Lazarus really was so insensitive!

Aie grabbed up the collar of Lazarus’ coat and brought his face closer to her. She clenched her jaws in anger. "You should understand that I hold a grudge against you because I still like you, idiot!"

"Eh?"

Aie pulled Lazarus’ collar harder and pressed her lips to Lazarus’. The man stood frozen in place, feeling surprised by Aie’s sudden reply. After their long kiss, Aie pushed Lazarus away.

"A-Aie..."

Aie’s face was red with embarrassnt. She didn’t do it on purpose. Now, she had revealed her own Pandora’s box. Her face felt hot and feverish.

Aie took one step back to avoid Lazarus. Then, she imdiately turned to run away, but Lazarus held her hand and Aie spontaneously punched Lazarus in the face.

"Let go of , you bastard!" Aie shouted, making Lazarus fall on the snow. She ran away from the place while crying because she was ashad and afraid.
